The pool area was immaculate, the restrooms were clean and well stocked, and the overall facility lived up to the high standard we've come to expect. Unfortunately, our experience at the Horse to Water pool bar was disappointing. It was a slower day, with only a handful of other guests around, so the bar was far from busy. When we approached, another couple was also waiting. The four of us stood there for several minutes looking around because, from the customer side of the bar, all we could see were soda machines. The shelves and glass door refrigerators appeared empty, so we genuinely weren't sure if alcoholic beverages were even served there. When the bartender came over, she didn't greet us or smile, and her demeanor immediately made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. We greeted her first, despite the fact that we had been patiently waiting with smiles on our faces. The other guests asked what kinds of drinks were available, and her response was simply, "Regular drinks." The four of us looked at each other, confused, since there wasn't any visible alcohol behind the bar. My friend then asked if she could make a vodka seltzer with lime, and the bartender said yes before walking off to retrieve liquor bottles that were stored out of sight. To be clear, the drink itself was perfectly fine. Our disappointment had nothing to do with the quality of the beverage. It was entirely the customer service. A simple smile, friendly greeting, or willingness to answer questions would have made all the difference. For a destination that prides itself on being an award winning destination with exceptional amenities, the customer service at the Horse to Water pool bar fell well below expectations. During this particular visit, we left feeling more like an inconvenience than welcomed guests.

The seating was comfortable. As this is used as a space for all sorts of events such as conferences and weddings, seating is not stadium seating, but the chairs were really nice, and they have ushers to help with rows. The restroom facilities are clean and ample. This might be the first concert I've been to with enough restrooms that there were no lines! Lots of self parking outside, but you might have to walk a bit.

The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare - char broiled perfectly. Served with a baked potato and veggies. We split a blueberry cobbler with ice cream for dessert. As far as Hilton Garden Inns go, I…read moream super disappointed with this downtown Ocala location and it's probably one of the worst I've stayed at. First off, even finding it is a little odd- the "entrance" is in the back of the building and not at all obvious like most hotel entrances are. There's also hardly any on site parking. It's a small lot that cost like $20 and isn't even guaranteed you get a spot. Otherwise, you have to park in the parking garage that's kiddie-corner to the hotel and walk all the way over. It's inconvenient, for sure. The hotel itself is pretty clean and what you should expect from a Hilton. Except it's super loud since you're downtown and near a lot of bars and other things. I'd recommend trying to get a room on the 4th or 5th floor, as my 5th floor room seemed to be a little more away from all the raucous. It's known to be so loud there that they leave ear plugs in each room instead of trying to actually do something to solve the issue. Yikes. They're also weird about late checkout and other options- you can move checkout like an hour later but anything past that they charge you. And there's no breakfast. I swear they literally try to charge you for anything they can- parking, checkout, breakfast etc. I just really was not impressed with the whole experience here and only stayed because it's the main hotel in downtown Ocala right now. The one upside I could see is that since it is in downtown it's in walking proximity to a lot of restaurants and some shopping, but that's about it.

We were not thrilled with parking across the street in a structure either. It isn't pleasant to drag your luggage back to the hotel after checking in. Especially after paying to park. The room and hotel were nice otherwise. Very clean. Centrally located outside the town square, it was fantastic to be here in Xmas to see the lights and decorations! An added bonus is that we could walk to dinner from the hotel and not move the car. The staff was very friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Would stay here again, but I really do nit like the parking situation.
