Ordering was easy and delivery was as promised but the balloon centerpiece was nothing special and they glued one of the numbers on upside down so I had to very carefully detach it (thankfully, it didn't pop) and reattach it myself. My guess is that their larger balloon installations are impressive but I wouldn't spend close to $100 for this product again. read more

I've been working with Luft for over 8 years and no other balloon company comes close to doing what they do. I'm a former event planner and I used to work for a major University, where I planned building openings and other large scale, multi day events. I have a lot of experience working with vendors and the challenges of event decor. Elaine is an artist and she is a wonderful partner to work with. She is innovative creating new and different experiences every time we work together. She's done everything from balloon bouquets for me to massive installations down the front of my house spanning two stories. We created jungle for my daughter's second birthday party by using helium balloons to suspend "vines" - it was magical to walk through and people still talk about it 5 years later. This past February Luft did a massive installation for me and filled foil balloons with helium and they lasted OVER A MONTH (my kids didn't want me to take them down). Yes, latex balloons don't last as long but that is true of all latex balloons (google it). She has the best and most extensive foil offerings, her foil quality is excellent (hence the foils lasting for over a month) and the range of colors for her latex balloons are phenomenal. Ordered balloons to be delivered the day before my daughter's birthday so we could surprise her when she woke up and by the time we opened the bag the next morning the latex balloons were no longer floating. When I flagged this issue to the company, they told me it was my fault for not reading the product description carefully enough because it states they will only float for 18hrs and that i should have ordered them to be delivered as soon as I needed them. Please learn from my mistakes: when they say they only float for 18hrs, they mean it. They will literally self destruct at 18:01. If you are looking for helium filled balloons, I recommend ordering from other local companies with higher quality products and kinder customer service. read more

Ill start with this. I'm not saying to not go here for you balloon and party needs. They do some really great work that we have admired in our neighborhood, but if you want gender reveal balloons or need something kept secret don't go here. Read below for the rest. My wife and I were so excited to support a small, locally owned business for our gender reveal party so we decided to purchase sex-specific balloons for the party. However, we didn't want to know the sex of our baby until the party so we had a friend place the order for us. Due to her work schedule she was unable to pick them up and my wife had to, so our friend left comments on the order that it needed to be concealed. My wife also called twice (once before the order was placed and once after) to confirm that the balloons were going to be concealed. On the day of the party my wife walked into LUFT balloons to pick up the order and without even asking her name or order number they instantly blurted out "are you here for the its a boy balloons," ruining the surprise for her and taking away from a moment that was supposed to be ours together. In follow up calls and emails, LUFT claims that they never received the comments our friend put in the order and that they had no way of knowing that the order was ours. Furthermore, in email correspondence they specifically said '"We don't do Gender Reveal Balloons" which would have been really nice to know before we placed the order when we were told that they could be concealed 100% and that she would not find out the sex of our baby. The most frustrating part of it all is that they won't take responsibility for what happened. In my opinion an apology isn't a true apology if its attached to qualifiers like theirs was (which placed all the blame on us) On a more positive note, I will say this so I don't get accused of trying to bring down a small business. The balloons did turn out really well. We were happy with them. They did offer a bouquet to celebrate the birth of our son when he arrives, which we do really appreciate but are going to decline due to the negative associations that we personally have with LUFT balloons. We're disappointed in losing that moment together and frustrated with the lack of a true apology. read more
