I never have left a review in my life.. If I could give zero stars, I would. My fiancé was initially impressed by Revel's brand and professionalism and moved forward based on a detailed quote. Then communication stopped entirely for weeks to months, despite multiple documented follow-ups via text, call, and email. When they finally responded, they said our main contact had gone on leave, but provided no apology or explanation on why there wasn't a better hand off for customer experience. After further delay, they arbitrarily doubled the proposal (excluding add-ons we agreed to), and offered no clear justification beyond a minor increase in stage size. This happened less than 50 days before our wedding, causing unnecessary stress and leaving us exposed to last-minute price gouging from other vendors. The exact opposite experience any couple preparing for their special day should have. We raised our concerns directly with Revel leadership and gave them every opportunity to explain or take responsibility instead of blaming their employees. They never responded. For a company that markets itself as premium, the lack of communication, professionalism, and accountability was appalling. It felt like a bait-and-switch targeting clients with less business acumen who would not question the changes. Go anywhere else. read more

Revel Decor absolutely nailed it with our wedding decor! We got married at the MCA Chicago on 7/31/21. The MCA recommended Revel as their preferred partner, and we're so thrilled we went with them because they pulled off the most beautiful wedding for us! We worked closely with Laurie & Megan to create a vision board and proposal. At first, my husband and I were completely lost about what we wanted (Traditional? Art Deco? No clue). Laurie & Megan spent hours of their time getting to know us and our taste, and brought their expertise to design a wedding that was beyond our imagination - contemporary, chic, and sexy, which perfectly suited our venue and black tie event. They also found creative ways to also stick to our budget, which is unheard of these days with weddings, and they delivered everything we asked for and more. Our wedding happened to fall on Lollapalooza weekend, which Revel was also working. However, Laurie & her crew personally came by my bridal suite during hair & makeup, in their Lolla gear, to deliver florals for our photoshoot. We had an incredible experience working with Autumn and the team at Revel! Our first meeting with Autumn was over Zoom, discussing our vision and going through high level questions about the wedding. Then Autumn sent over a full proposal, and was very responsive and helpful over the course of countless emails to refine the proposal and finetune it to our vision and budget! After we approved the proposal, closer to the wedding we had an in person decor sample, where Autumn and the team set up examples of how our decor would look the day of our wedding, and she was very detail-oriented and organized going through all of our questions and capturing our feedback, then sending a follow up shortly after! She was also super accomodating with last minute requests (like fresh floral for my hairpiece, and floral for our welcome sign). Then, the day of, we were blown away by how stunning all the decorations turned out to be! Our ceiling installation was fantastic, and we loved all the florals and greenery across all of our tables, and our chuppah was unbelievably beautiful. Our jaws literally dropped when we walked in, it was better than what we could have ever imagined - and many people told us it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever seen. This might have been 1 bad event for 1 employee, but this was my wedding day. Don't risk it. Seriously. The picture speaks for itself but... I hired them to do draping at my wedding. I chose a huge vintage-y mansion and had a smaller guest list, so I wanted to drape off a large portion of the room we'd be in (like 30 - 40% of it). The fabric they brought on my wedding day was way too short... by a LOT. We couldn't use it and they didn't offer any solution. When I brought this up to the person I'd been working with, she tried to play it off like it was okay because they "offered me a discount" on my draping (that I didn't ask for). It was a $250 discount on the $5,400 I paid them for draping, lighting, and centerpieces. The cafe lighting treatment they did had huge black framing around it that looked super out of place in our vintage venue. No thought or care went into the decor they brought in. They are definitely one of the higher priced decor companies out there (they quoted linens at $2,500....) but it was such an important element to make my venue work that I splurged on them. The venue ended up dwarfing our crowd size and there was a lot of empty and awkward space. They weren't even very apologetic about the mistake. They seemed annoyed by my complaints. I had a hard time getting answers to my emails and questions throughout the process. I booked them far in advance (again, a really important element to me) and we didn't meet in person until the final venue walk through. I requested someone to come to the venue earlier, and I asked if we could meet to go through fabrics in person, but I was told that was unnecessary. read more

Revel gave us our DREAM wedding! I absolutely loved working with Erin and Randy from Revel who put together the most beautiful decor for our wedding. Erin was my main point of contact for pulling together the vision for the day - she did a wonderful job listening to my general decor preferences, but really applied her artistic expertise to bring my vague vision to life. I knew very little about flowers, so by sharing my thoughts for a feel, general colors, and a look for the day, she was able to narrow in on specific flower types that would reflect the right mood. Our venue was pretty much a blank canvas, so it was important to make use of the open space without going overboard. She was also very familiar with the venue we used, and was able to suggest some additional decor considerations that I wouldn't have thought of on my own, while also recommending priorities/alternatives to keep my budget in mind. One service aspect that I really appreciated from Revel is the ability to see a preview of the decor prior to being required to submit a deposit, which many other decor companies typically require. While I was so in love with what I saw for my preview, it was nothing compared to how incredibly beautiful the venue was on our actual wedding day. Even my husband said that he could not have imagined a more perfect ambiance for the reception. Erin and Randy (floral), even remembered small details that I had requested - like the exact diameter of my bouquet, and the fact that I preferred closed vs. opened tulips :) We even continue to receive compliments from our guests who were in awe of the venue. We worked with Erin at Revel Decor for our wedding and it was such a pleasure! It was my (now) husband who urged me to contact Revel based on their website and portfolio. I initially met with them for a complimentary consultation and was amazed at all the work in the showroom. They were able to give me the type of flowers- orchids, hydrangeas, and roses- and look of flowers I wanted without being overpriced. We went to another flower vender immediately after the appointment with Revel, and for the same price, there was no comparison that Revel offered so much more. My experience with the team at Revel, especially Erin, was nothing short of fantastic. From the beginning I had a very specific vision of what I wanted our big day to look like and Revel certainly delivered. Erin accepted (and ran with) all of my ideas while offering her expert advice of what would make everything come to life. We interviewed several florists for my daughter's June wedding. We just clicked with Erin at Revel. The wedding was at the Museum of Science and Industry with the ceremony to be held outside and the reception and dinner to be held inside in the rotunda - a very large space. The weather was very iffy that night, storms predicted, and Erin, Tara from MSI, and our planner, Ali Phillips, worked together til mid-afternoon before making the call to go ahead with the ceremony outside. They had plans to move the ceremony inside if necessary. The flowers for both the ceremony and the reception/dinner were fabulous. Erin stayed until the ceremony started to make sure all went well. We got married over six months ago and while this review is "tardy," it's as relevant today as it will be for brides and grooms six months from now. My husband and I had a magical wedding at St. Michael in Old Town and at Cafe Brauer last September and our visions of a natural and elegant wedding came to life because of Erin and her team. There are obviously a lot of talented design and decor shops in Chicago but what set Revel apart for me was Erin's approach to the wedding and design process. She was as upbeat and excited as any planner but also knew how to get down to business and answer any questions and concerns without "fluff." I mean this to say that her team is excited and talented but smart and competent and wow do they know what they're doing. We planned our wedding from California and since the moment we signed with Revel I knew we were in good hands. After our first meeting they put together a gorgeous and well thought out proposal that was far and away more detailed and thought out than any other proposal we received. They were patient as we nailed down our budget and helped us decide what we needed and what we could leave out (so important!). We decided to add on a lighting package through Revel and that combined with our floral designs at Cafe Brauer exceeded any expectation I could ever have dreamed of for our wedding day. I can't recommend the team at Revel enough - from their business acumen to their patience with me through the process and lastly the pure talent and vision they have and are so capable of bringing to life. The team at Revel far exceeded our expectations for our September 2011 wedding and for a private dinner party I hosted at a local restaurant August 2012. About our wedding experience: We chose Revel over other floral designers because Clint and Bari, who we worked with, really listened to our vision and responded with a proposal that was spot on. From our initial inquiry to post-event followup they were always responsive, professional, and interested in our wedding. And I really appreciate how they respected our budget from start to finish, which is huge in the wedding industry! Important to note: you see Clint the day of your event when he personally delivers flowers to you, which was really great; I've watched friends who used other companies receive half-dead flowers from a delivery boy, and it meant a lot that the owner of the company and person I'd been working with from day one saw the condition they arrived in and "signed off," so to speak. In all honesty, I started my wedding planning process "just not that into" floral design, and it quickly became of on my favorite aspects of our wedding. We loved everything they did for us! And about the dinner party: This time I worked with Erin and Bari for a small event at Blackbird restaurant. As I wrote to them in my thank you afterward: "The gorgeous arrangements from Revel tied everything together. We met with several florists before our wedding and chose Revel because they seemed to understand the look we were going for and willing to work with our budget. We worked with Clint Paton and Bari. They were both great - really listened to us and on the day of, our flowers looked even better than the trial. Everyone loved our flowers. They also did a really beautiful, simple but elegant chuppah and we received numerous compliments on our childrens table being the cutest one anyone had seen before. They were on time, everything we discussed was executed just as planned, and they're really nice - a family member passed away the week of our wedding and they provided this beautiful complimentary arrangement in memory of her which was so thoughtful and sweet. My husband and I used Revel Decor for our wedding on 6/17/17 at Morgan Manufacturing, and I cannot say enough good things about Erin and the company! Revel was in charge of decor, lighting, and floral for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Jacob and I came in with some vague ideas, some pinterest pictures, and a general vibe we had in mind (rustic/boho meets modern/glam), and Erin did such a fantastic job at realizing our vision. From the beginning, communication was clear and constant, and Erin's proposals always came with descriptions, images, and a detailed itemized budget (so much attention to detail! amazing!). It was so great to have a "sample day" to see our reception tables as they would be for our actual wedding day- it gave us the opportunity to see things come to life, and to make minor adjustments in time for the actual wedding day. On the day of, our jaws actually dropped when we walked into the reception room after they flipped the space (our ceremony was in the same room, and during our cocktail hour, they set up tables for 230 guests in about one hour. wow.). Revel did an absolutely amazing job on our wedding flowers! They were fantastic to work with. Clint and Bari did a great job working with us to develop centerpiece and personal flowers that were within our budget. Many of the other florists we spoke with got stuck on prices, but Clint and Bari creatively came up with new ideas to ensure that we could have beautiful centerpieces and stay within our budget. They listened to our ideas, and really understood what we were looking for. They were extremely reliable and worked very well with our other vendors. We hired Revel to do all of the décor, flowers, lighting for our wedding a couple of months back. Erin, Tori and team were an absolute pleasure to work with from the very first time we met them. We had our first meeting with Revel about four months before the wedding and from that day forward they were incredibly receptive to my thoughts and feedback and responsive to the point where I felt bad emailing them at night because I knew I would get a response right away! We had some crazy big ideas (like a floral wall) that they accommodated while making suggestions along the way to keep everything more cost effective. They brought forward so many fun ideas that we never would have thought of like a neon sign with our hashtag and bringing lounge furniture into the reception space to accommodate older guests who wanted a front row seat to the dance floor without having to stand all night. We did a "design sample" with them a couple of months before the wedding to make sure the florals and décor were trending in the right direction and were blown away by the amount of effort they put in simply to give us a taste of what the venue would look like on the big day. I worked with Erin and Randy from Revel decor for my wedding on 9/20/2014 (as well as my rehearsal dinner/welcome party on 9/19). I had heard wonderful things about Revel but am a crazy bride so wanted to compare different companies, so chose from a list of 6 top floral/design companies in Chicago. From the get-go they "got" me. I brought in a whole elaborate list of ideas and they understood this and built upon it with their creative ideas. They also would let me know when one of my ideas was going to be quite expensive and helped to come up with creative ways to achieve a very similar thing for much less. I ultimately chose them not only because of the great work i knew they would do but because I could tell they are incredibly hard workers and dedicated to their business and customer service. They were wonderful to work with. I must emailed back and forth with them numerous times about tiny tiny details of the final proposal and they were always so accommodating and responsive. I have a crazy schedule and Erin would always find time to talk with me. The wedding day flowers and design were exactly what I envisioned and even better! It was the most enchanting, romantic setting and they basically did a phenomenal job in every single way. I received so many compliments about the floral/design and have already referred friends to them because I know they will do a great job. They also did an outstanding job on the rehearsal dinner/welcome party floral which again was exactly what I wanted. Jacklyn Talbert is exceptional at what she does, along with her entire team. I am an event planner, and after many long months of planning & coordinating a 220 guest birthday party/fundraiser for my client, the event on 6/25/16 was hugely successful and went off without a hitch - thanks to Revel who came in and saved the day after a relationship with another production company went awry. Revel Decor is amazing! I worked with Erin for our wedding at Cafe Brauer in November - what an incredible experience. Erin is the absolute best! We met with her several times before the wedding to discuss our vision for the ceremony and reception flowers and ambiance to ensure we got it just right. We even ended up changing our design and going a different route, which Erin was very easy to work with on and adaptable to my change in vision! She was very helpful in the design process and made excellent suggestions - for instance to have votives line the windows of Cafe Brauer for a romantic and soft feel - which we did and was breathtaking. Walking into Cafe Brauer for our ceremony was breathtaking with a white aisle in between several pillars topped with candelabras, camellia branches, and a orchid, hydrangea, hypericum berry, and spray rose floral arrangement. Erin even allowed us to bring in a few votive holders and vases on our own that we really wanted to use. The team was able to flip the room in a very short time frame for our reception which was in the same room as the ceremony. We have received several compliments even to this day about the decor for the ceremony and how everyone loved the contrast of height, the variation of the centerpieces, and the ambiance the candles created (we had over 200!). All in all Erin and Revel Decor surpassed our expectations and created the perfect scene for our ceremony and reception. Clint and his team did the floral arrangements for my sisters wedding in May of 2011. The floral arrangements were awesome. There was a bit of a glitch when we were getting ready, the bride forgot to order flowers for the maid of honor. We contacted Clint and he told us not to worry and that he would put together a bouquet and meet us at one of her photo locations. He jumped out of the cab gave me the bouquet and he was gone. The bride did not know of the error until the next day when we told her. Also, when he delivered the bouquets and bouteniers to the men, he assisted my father who was a bit nervous with his cuff links and pinning on of the boutenier. Great job to clint and his team! Thanks so much to Erin and Revel for making our wedding look better than I ever imagined! Erin was great to work with. After we lost our first and then second venues because of a closing and delayed construction, Erin was kind enough to work with us to adapt our plans time and again to fit the new locations, and always with a smile. Once we finally settled on the place, Erin listened to the ideas we had and created the most amazing tablescapes and decor. She took different pieces of inspiration and put them all together to create exactly what I had hoped for. She also came up with a brilliant plan for the table and dance floor layout at our reception after we couldn't quite get it right with the venue.
