A quick note that you will likely need to go through passport control before heading to this lounge. The lounge itself is incredibly comfortable, with different types of seating as well as chairs that recline with a screen wall that showcases a forest. The service was helpful, the food is fairly good and switches over for different times of the day and the restrooms were clean, although it would be nice if they stocked seat covers. My main note is that the free mints they offer are rather unsafe. Both the honey and I almost choked on them due to their size and smoothness and I don't think I've ever encountered that before. All in all, a great lounge if you're flying back home, but definitely avoid the mints and pick up a charging adapter as all the outlets are European. read more

Flying United Polaris so the Lufthansa Senator Lounge was the Star Alliance partner for this leg. I attended the lounge a few days before Christmas during late morning to early afternoon. I was surprised to see that attendance at the lounge was quite sparse. It was enjoyably quiet and mellow. The lounge has a self-serve bar which is very nice and features a variety of liquor, mixers, draft and bottled beer, and more. There are a few cappuccino, espresso and cafe stations scattered throughout the lounge. Additionally, a self-serve food buffet serves everything from a warm hearty meal to a delightful salad bar. For the holidays, the Senator lounge also featured a delicious port wine and fresh slices of stollen. Complimentary magazines and newspapers were available to read at two stations throughout the lounge. Several varieties of formal and casual seating could be found, as well as quiet spaces, cafe-style seating, charging stations with USB charging ports and EU outlets (no USB-C, so bear that in mind). One of my favorite lounges! We had our little baby and we were able to find a nice spot in the back to feed before our flight. And got a nice dish of breakfast. Service was great, and despite our baby was crying people around us were cordial about it. This time the breakfast were eggs, spinach croissants and little meatballs. And I got orange juices in beer glasses. Didn't feel like going up and down for them so hacked it with a large glass. Definitely recommend. read more

Due to air traffic delays we had over five hours to kill in Frankfurt after missing our morning connection to Oslo. We had to cross back into the Z terminal (cleared customs) to see the United service desk and decided to stay in this Senator lounge. The Senator lounge in the Z terminal was the first of two Senator lounges we visited during this time. Star Alliance Gold level got us in. We liked the large and open feel of this lounge which felt nicer than the Polaris lounges. Amenities included showers and even a sleep room in the back but didn't try either on this trip. The food selection was decent with a cold section of salads, snack bar and hot food/desserts area. There were multiple coffee machines throughout the lounge, self pour alcohol and soda dispensers. By 1pm the lounge emptied out and it got even quieter. We had a whole section of the lounge to ourselves until we headed off to the lounge closer to our gate. Will definitely choose this location next time we're flying through Frankfurt. read more

Stopped here but unfortunately didn't have much time. If you're flying to the US via Z gates this is the Lounge and is located right before the turn to Z 50. I liked the set-up and flow of the offers. They have a coffee and breakfast Bar in the middle as you enter with Alcohol (full bar) and food against the wall. A great variety of options. At lunch time, two types of Soup & open faced sandwich. Meal of the day was Traditional Meatballs, Dumplings or Chicken Drumsticks. Sides included Spaetzle and saw a basket of pretzels-yes! Spacious with plenty of seating/windows throughout and although slightly busy, was clean. Friendly people in front for check-in. Overall, one of the nicer Lufthansa lounges and worth the stop. read more

Outstanding! This is what a lounge is supposed to be. Great food selection to choose from as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Lots of space. Beds to take a nap and, in some cases, even showers. Lufthansa really does lounges right. You know the difference as soon as you walk in. As a United Club Member, I frequent a lot of United Clubs. Some are much nicer than others and the newer ones have really stepped up their game. But a lot could be learned from clubs like this one. Would I go back? With pleasure. These are always great oasis' to get out of "gen pop" and aways from the every day travelers. Get something to eat, drink. Have a rest or even get some work done. Always a great perk of traveling. This lounge is massive as it should be for the hometown airline's hub. One of several at the airport, this one is for the Z gates which are outside the Schengen zone, such as flying to USA. The modern space is similarly designed as the other Lufthansa lounges, with contemporary warm blond woods, trees and plants. Only one buffet food area and self-service bar was opened the morning I came. The food was nothing spectacular but I did like the Munich Potato Soup. The place was full of passengers but there was space available in the back. Even so, it didn't seem crowded as the design created open spaces and high ceilings. It's a nice lounge, away from the airport crowds. The Lufthansa Business Lounge is next door and similar, but a step down from the Senators Lounge, so go to this one of your status gets you in. read more

This is one of the better senator lounges in the Frankfurt airport. It's considerably cleaner and more spacious than other lounges. Lots of chairs, some more comfortable than others. The food selection is decent. Scrambled eggs and a variety of cold cuts and cheese for breakfast and a few dishes for lunch. There is no bartender but drinks are self serve. They have two good tea/coffee expresso machines. The staff is not terribly friendly but are efficient. With more US lounges for international business class passengers (e.g., United Polaris) improving their offerings, the European lounges seem to be falling behind. And the lounge was certainly no match for the one at international airports like Istanbul or Bangalore. read more

Yes, Lufthansa lounges are exceptionally better than united clubs and some of the other star alliance lounges. HOWEVER, I've never experienced such unconcerned attitude on part of the desk people. She wasn't exactly rude. She just was very unwilling to do her job. So I walk up to check in at the counter and scan my ticket. There's something wrong with the barcode or whatever and she's like, give me your other ticket. Okay. I don't see how that helps.... She's like: where's your card? Uhhh United doesn't issue cards to lowly gold status peasants anymore. She argues with me. Well, lady, I don't have it. Let me the F in. A line has formed. Probably 12 people long behind me. The guy next to her wants to know what's happening. She says something in German, probably about how my ticket isn't scanning. He asks me for my boarding pass. The lady has all my boarding passes. She hands them over to him. He points to the UA gold label on my ticket. They shrug their shoulders and scan me in after my parents' tickets. This is a huge lounge! It has Wi-Fi and work stations and plenty of seating if you're in between flights. The service staff are very efficient at clearing tables and maintaining a very clean lounge. Very spacious inside and each seating areas are so far enough, very nice place to relax while waiting for your flight. Very generous selection of alcohols available to satisfy your needs. Showers are available after a long international flight. Nap room is in the back and very dark and quiet should you need a quick nap. They have regular chairs as well as relaxing chairs. Food selection is plenty for a quick meal before the flight. Service is friendly and prompt. They speak excellent English to help any of your travel needs. read more

great place to relax after a stressful day of dealing with a strike at the airports in Italy (long story short). Great selection of food and drinks (including wine). Plenty of space to charge your phone and whatever is needed for a LONG flight back home. I was heading back to SF (11 hour flight) and I needed to recharge and get some Good Food, and they had a great selection of soups, salads, carbs, and proteins for me to enjoy. there was also places for me to "hide" while I remained calm and collective (I hate flying). I'm not even rating the lounge but the airport company as a whole. This is horrible. I bought a connecting flight from Rome to Rijeka and it made us stop in Frankfurt for a 1.5 hour layover, their choice. It was two flights and one purchase, to state for the record. The flight from Rome was delayed because of boarding issues from another flight. Fine and that happens but the flight from Frankfurt to Rijeka knew we were coming and late and ended up leaving anyway after we got their 5 minutes before departure. They didn't let us on. And the flight attendants on the plane had no info, horsesh!t. Ended having to go through security twice to get two stamps on the passport. The German airport staff is horrible btw. Not friendly or helpful at all and a bunch of a$$holes. We then proceeded to go all the way back to the main desk where they proceeded to send us to the main ticketing area, which was closed. Gee, thanks for that. So we only had one option for rebooking. They told we'd get a hotel downtown, which it is not. I'm addition this. We went to the hotel and apparently this hotel gets this all the time. They have envelopes ready and waiting for people who get left behind. Including, on the flight when everyone was packed and boarded they said only English and German speaking people allowed in the exit rows. Why would tell them this when we have all boarded. We were waiting for 40 minutes for the plane, couldn't you have said something then and worked it out? That is inexcusable. How this airline still has customers is blows my damn mind. What a horrible flight experience, and I've flow American based airlines. This, by far was worse. I won't say don't book with them but be prepared for rudeness, ridiculously needed process improvement and self awareness. You knew we were coming and you still decided to leave and it was them that's late. No accountability from this airline at all. I'll be emailing their CEO about this. read more

This was my first time in Lufthansa Lounge. The front desk staff was friendly and made me feel welcome. I forgot to take his name, but he wore glasses and from South Asian descent. Anyhow, after checking, you will come across the main lobby with a significant section of food, and on the right side, they have a couple of magazines with the Airplane model. They have plenty of seats, like a quiet area, lounge area, dining, etc. The drink selection is excellent. No bartender; you help yourself. They have a decent section of liquors and regular drinks. The staff is attentive and comes around every minute to clean the tables. Note: The English magazines were located on the last stand. I had to figure that out myself. Also, the bathroom is relatively tiny. Just pray the person before didn't sink the toilet, lol. Anyhow, I will stop again if I am at Frankfurt Airport. read more

My husband and I came to this lounge during a connection. We grabbed a little to eat and there was a huge variety for breakfast. I was jealous as I am gluten free but the lounge had sweets and big pretzels to enjoy. I wish I could have indulged but my stomach would ultimately pay the price. Which let's be honest, is something you don't want to deal with on a 10 hour flight. There is a variety of booze, water, juice, soda to choose from to satisfy your needs. No judgement if it is 8am and you drink some alcohol. One of my favorite airport lounges in Europe, and the primary reason that I choose to fly through Frankfurt. We'll, that and I'm a Star Alliance flier, so this is one the best options for Star Alliance flight connections in Europe. The selection of food is good, and most of the time will include sausages, potato salad and pretzels - the typical German fare. And you can wash it all down with a good German beer. There also snacks, including gummy bears, and who doesn't love gummy bears. The last time I was in the lounge, I walked in after missing a connecting flight, and the desk agents helped rebook me on another flight while I relaxed in the lounge. Great lounge with lots of different food and drink options. I like that you can get water in more than one spot. I can't go there without having a pretzel! Another small detail worth mentioning: there are individually wrapped hand swipes at the entrance. Also, if you are lucky enough to hit this lounge in December, there are many Christmas perks. They have various Christmas cookies in bowls throughout, Santa chocolates, baked apples with vanilla sauce and sprinkled powdered sugar, and some sort of ham carving station (I left before it was finished setting up). Overall very nice facility for a layover. They have very clean showers with clean towels and basic shampoo which is a nice refresher. They have a plentiful food and drink bar which is always stocked. Food and drinks are ok quality but it's free for status star alliance members or those flying business or first class. Lastly there are plenty of places to sit with plugs. My only complaints are...it's gets pretty crowded and loud so don't expect a quiet relax. Also the servers at the showers can be rude! Bottom line..great spot to take a quick shower, lounge or grab a bite between flights! They do try to make it a nice spa like experience aside from the crowd! This is for the Business / Senator Lounge Combo in the Z Concourse, which we were directed to on our flight from Frankfurt to Philadelphia. It is not the Business Lounge in the A Concourse (near A13), which is before security check, where we'd been prior. You have several options for lounges at Frankfurt Airport, and I highly recommend this Senator Lounge over others. MUUU-HUH-CH better than the regular Business Lounge, which was so crowded you could barely even get a seat, and even then, it was on a hightop stool that was so uncomfortable. Upon entry, you head straight up an escalator for Business (Senators, downstairs). At the top, there is food straight ahead, showers / bathrooms to the left, and workspaces, sleeping areas, and lounge chairs, to the right. Dining tables / counters are near the food straight ahead. Much better food options in this lounge, as well. Instead of light snack options, there were more substantial foods, and multiple drink service areas. We were very close to our gate when it came time to board, so we were able to enjoy the lounge longer. read more

Kudos to the young man at the outside counter who noticed my status was not on my boarding pass, and suggested we have it checked,as I may not be getting miles. The desk lady did check my number and printed out a new boarding pass. Beautiful and spacious this is a very nice lounge. There are lots of seating and table areas, and private booths for phone calling. Lockers and showers are here, but I didn't see them. One wall is a 3D picture of woods which brings the room alive as it looks like the outdoors. Fruit is on many counters. The bar and coffee is help-yourself. The food tonight included a chef serving a Korean veggies on rice dish. Also available was mushroom ravioli, curry chicken masala, salads, and a meat and cheese board. Delicious. As always there are plenty of bretzels, drinks, many different kinds of bread and salad. Depending on the time of the day, shower can be a bit of wait but it's worth trying. It's located nearby Duty free so you can leave your belongs in the locker and shop. If you are here in the morning, try their croissant. It's great. The best lounges at Frankfurt Airport Both the Lufthansa Senator and Business lounge are spacious have very good food and amenities. However, if you aren't traveling business, first or have club access, the door guard ladies will not let you in. They have heard everything. Lucky for me my tickets gain me access. I will tell you that both of these lounges can fill up.It is a busy airport. The small dishes have very good food - but don't think you are going to make a meal of it. The soft drinks and bar are generously stocked and serve yourself. You can lounge, charge your gear and even take a shower. However comma, it is your responsibility to track your own flight. This is the only lounge in the Z terminal. That being said, the Business Class lounge is decent. The showers are clean and well stocked. There can be a wait of about 45 minutes before you can hop into one. The food selection is decent, much better than what you have at United lounges. The tomato soup is a must try. I am really only reviewing the staff at the door. His initials were AZ. He seemed preclempt when i took a photo of him, presumably because he knew he'd done wrong. We were travelling internationally, overnight. Self, wife, and 6 yo. When we got to the lounge at 0630, he said my wife's access would allow her and I - but not the child. Suggesting we would actually leave a 6 year old by herself in the terminal in a foreign country. He was content to make a couple 'phone calls' to 'colleagues', then dismiss us and deny us access for a earned/paid for benefit of flying Lufthansa. Thankfully, a trip to the Air Canada lounge found us some folks who would exert common sense and decency. ~ $30 for the extra person. No problem. I would strongly encourage everyone reading this to consider flying Air Canada instead. The people make the business. Lufthansa has chosen (at least one) bad people.
