Really elegant lounge and perhaps one of the best lounges I've been to having traveled throughout the world. Food and beverage selection is plentiful. No matter what your taste you can find something enjoyable here. Facilities are extremely well maintained including showers. This is really the best way to spend a 6 hour layover and would definitely do it again.

This lounge was great!! I enjoyed my stay here on a layover. Definitely gotta say thank you American Express Platinum and Lufthansa!! I was able to take a shower grab some food and take a quick nap before my flight. They had lockers for me to store my carry on so I didn't have to lug it around after my shower. Food was plentiful it's mainly German style with cold meats and cheese and bread but hey it's Europe:) Guest services was great they helped me find a good place that sells pretzels since my hubby want me to bring him a pretzel from Germany All in all this place made my layover better than expected and I got to refresh before getting on my last flight.

Lufthansa has some great ground services for first class passengers but those services are only offered to first class passengers flying on Lufthansa or Swiss Air operated flights. Because I was flying Asiana Airlines first class from Frankfurt to Seoul, I wasn't granted access to the Frankfurt First Class Terminal or any of the First Class lounges. Lufthansa has three levels of lounges, First Class, Senator and Business Class. The First Class Terminal and First Class lounges are only available to first class passengers on Lufthansa or Swiss Air operated flights. The Lufthansa Business Class Lounges are available to Lufthansa and Star Alliance business class passengers and the Lufthansa Senator Lounges are only available to Star Alliance first class passengers and Star Alliance Gold members. There are four Senator Lounges in terminal 1 at Frankfurt Main. The Senator lounge in the Schengen area is located by gate A50. The other three Senator lounges are located in the non-Schengen area near gates B43, C14 and Z50. On this trip, I had four hours to kill so I was only able to visit and review the lounges in the A, B and Z concourses. But of all the lounges, I really wished I got to visit the Senator Lounge in the C concourse. That lounge is special in that you could board the planes directly from and without leaving the lounge. I've never been able to do that before and would have been a cool experience. It should be noted that going from the Z to A concourse required a passport and a security check and going from the A to B concourse also required another passport check. So keep that in mind if you intend to visit a Senator Lounge that is not at your arrival or departure gate. Additionally, Star Alliance premium cabin passengers, Star Alliance Gold members and Qatar premium cabin passengers may also use the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge located in terminal 1, B concourse and TAM Airlines premium cabin passengers may use the Lufthansa lounges in terminal 1, B concourse. The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is open from 6:00 AM to 10 PM. Located by gate B43, this Lufthansa Senator Lounge is open from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Also not a combo lounge, this lounge is only accessible to first class passengers and Star Alliance Gold members. Between the three that I visited today, this lounge was my favorite. As I walked in, my first impression of the lounge was that it was very spacious and beautiful. It wasn't elaborately decorated or overly luxurious but instead, the "City Lights" motif struck me as very modern and chic. The lounge was shaped like an "O" and there were plenty of seats throughout the lounge. Even though there were a lot of people in the lounge, I didn't have a problem finding a seat in several areas of the lounge. There was a variety of seating from executive chairs, to loungers and sofas. However, unlike the other lounges, there were no private relaxation rooms or flat daybeds. By the entrance to the showers, there were a bank of individual storage lockers to secure your belongings. The lockers had individual keys and were large enough to store a small roller board and your other carry on items. The individual shower rooms were clean, modern and stocked with basic amenities. There used to be a Spa facility here for massages, facial and other services but that's no longer available. The dining and buffet area was located to the right of the lounge. Of the three, this lounge offered the best selection of food. There was a nice spread including salads, cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, soups, sausages, hot finger foods and of course, lots of pretzels. You really could eat a full meal here. With all that food, you're gonna want a complimentary drink to wash it down with. Luckily, there were two bars for alcoholic drinks. You could pour your own drink at the self-serve bar or have a drink made for you from the traditional bar with bartender service. There was a wide selection of alcohol available including beers on tap, wines, champagnes and hard spirits. There was also a soda fountain and coffee/cappuccino maker. Other lounge amenities included restrooms, an enclosed smoking room, local and international newspapers and magazines, televisions, flight information boards, printers, copiers and a fax machine. WiFi was provided and universal power ports were plentiful around the lounge. If you like my travel related reviews, feel free to check out my travel blog. The link can be found in my profile. Like other excellent LH lounges, this lounge is great place to relax during your layover. Good shower place. Less crowded than terminals A or D. Great Bretzels, wine selections, fast refill. I was fed and rested very well. PS: No hand-made espresso drinks available.

Five stars for serving Apfelwein. But then it goes down a bit. Only a few power outlets are working and the place is often crowded.

It was enjoyably quiet and mellow. The lounge has a self-serve bar which is very nice and features a variety of liquor, mixers, draft and bottled beer, and more. There are a few cappuccino, espresso and cafe stations scattered throughout the lounge. Additionally, a self-serve food buffet serves everything from a warm hearty meal to a delightful salad bar. For the holidays, the Senator lounge also featured a delicious port wine and fresh slices of stollen. Complimentary magazines and newspapers were available to read at two stations throughout the lounge. Several varieties of formal and casual seating could be found, as well as quiet spaces, cafe-style seating, charging stations with USB charging ports and EU outlets (no USB-C, so bear that in mind). Lastly, the Senator Lounge featured a shower suite area with all the amenities to freshen up between your flights.

This review covers my overall experience with the LH lounge at Frankfurt Airport…read more Will not return: it's difficult to get in. The lounge itself is okay: spacious, clean, with various seating options. The drinks are much better than the food. It has four showers and a large business section. Getting in, however, is a challenge. Before this incident, I didn't pay attention to their two lounge types: Senator and Business, and my credit cards and ticket gave me access to both. I wasn't planning to use their lounge because: - The layover was short, but the first leg of the trip on LH from Krakow was delayed. - I have other easy options. But flying Lufthansa, I see their mustard-yellow lounges right off the plane. The first one, a Senator lounge, greeted me first. A woman by the door said, "Oh, you can't go," after I showed her my access code on their LH App. "Really? Why?" "You just can't," she replied. "So, the code doesn't work?" "You just can't," she insisted. "May I see your supervisor?" I asked, snapping a photo before she left to find someone. "Did you just take a photo of me?" she asked. "No, I just took a photo; you may be part of it." She went inside and soon reappeared with a tall white man. "Are you the supervisor?" I asked. "Did you take a photo of her?" he asked. "Yes, because she happens to be there." "Delete it," he instructed. "It's a public space," I said. "It's not allowed in Germany," he responded. I think that's not true, but why argue with a self-important buffoon? I deleted the photo. He looked satisfied and tersely said, "You can't use the code," then walked away. Did he get high on bullying a little old Asian woman? Okay, you won't key in with the code. Neither of them asked me what kind of access credentials I have. If you don't want to deal with your co-brand North American credit card, do NOT publicly offer it as a benefit. I didn't sign up for free LH lounge access. I found his manner repellent and somewhat amusing: I'd think by 2025, everyone would know that a deleted photo can be recovered from the 'Recently Deleted' folder with two clicks. Is he dumb, or is he just another of their army of counter-agents, taking pleasure in harassing customers? If you still think German precision is great, consider that their trains are often running late and that airport escalators have been broken for years... I don't know... Germany used to be the engine of Europe, but their top airline can't even scan a code properly. (The same goes for the Old Opera House in Frankfurt; they couldn't scan the ticket they emailed me. I had to print it out. For Pete's sake, save a tree or two, will you?) On my way to Centurion, I passed by another LH lounge (I think there are 14 of them in FRA) near my gate. I checked my email, and bingo, it worked, allowing me to write this. I won't be flying Lufthansa again anytime soon.
