I wanted to buy myself a Submariner to celebrate something momentous in my life and as they're the only Rolex AD in Victoria, I went to Lugaro. As this was during the early days of COVID I didn't want to go in unnecessarily. I messaged them repeatedly through their site and they ignored every request about buying a Submariner. I know that they do answer their contact page, as I was able to buy other pieces of jewelry during that time for my wife from them. While they're conveniently close to my office, I would rather travel to Vancouver than shop with them. read more

I went in looking to buy a Hamilton field watch (not too expensive, maybe $700 or so - some of the watches in this place cost north of $50,000) and from the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly. I made it clear that I can't possibly afford the Omega, Rolex and IWC watches they sell, and they were very accommodating. After I had chosen the Hamilton I wanted, I asked some questions about the Omegas - such great looking watches. The fellow spent 20 minutes with me talking about brand history, passing me ridiculously expensive models to try on, and just talking about the whole market in general. What a great shop. I went in feeling very out of place and a bit uncomfortable (as it's not generally a store for the regular Joe) but I left with a nice watch and feeling like a made a friend that day. read more

I took a short trip to Victoria and decided to stop by and take a look inside. The store is really beautiful, but what I was most impressed with was the service. I spoke to a few people there and they were all really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. My boyfriend was perusing their selection of Rolex and Omega watches. I ended up trying on a diamond necklace that I just fell in love with. I also saw that they had a gorgeous selection of engagement rings, which I wanted to try on, but restrained myself so as not to scare the boyfriend! We ended up buying a present for my mom, which I'm sure she'll love. The next time I'm in Victoria, I will make a note to drop by and see what else they have in store. read more

I was in Victoria for work and had a bit of time to get some Christmas shopping done. I wanted to get my fiancee a necklace but it had to be perfect. In the display case, I saw a gorgeous diamond white gold pendant that would look stunning on her. A woman in the store assisted me and was very helpful with answering my many questions. She was patient, friendly and didn't force me to buy anything. They also have the nicest sales people! I think Lugaro definitely had the best selection of what I was looking for. I was looking for a new watch (Victorinox), so I thought I would give this store a try. I had previously bought a watch from their Nanaimo store that closed in Woodgrove. I have to say, I now know what it is like to be almost totally ignored by a retailer. I can understand it happening in a big, low-end department store, but a jewellery store. I even found a watch on sale I wanted. There was more employees than customers, but no one showed me the watch or acknowledged me. I wasn't sure if they were possibly occupied with something else, so decided to come back 20 minutes or so later. Same thing; totally ignored--there was even a bit older guy by the Rolex room who looked to be a manager or something. He was just standing there and saw me come in again. After quite a wait a younger man who actually was busy said someone will be with you shortly, and indicated my presence to a coworker. She went off to do something else. Finally, fed up I walked out without buying. On the way out, I hear the older staff member say "Oh, he leaves!" No kidding! Do I have to beg them to buy a watch? I try to support those who are local AND appreciate me as a customer. Very disappointing. read more
