He helped us to look at all the trees on the property and kindly gave advice- we scheduled the work for the following Monday. The Lugo's team arrived on time and set things up to keep the street clean and brought a chipper. They efficiently completed the job and utilized all the proper safety equipment. They also cleaned up very well after the work and hauled away all the debris. We did a walk through after with Gus and he gave us maintenance tips and offered advice for further tree planting. Gus gave us a very reasonable quote on removing two walnut trees and grinding the stumps. The were efficient, friendly, and went a little beyond on service doing a bit of removal that I requested that was not in the original quote, without asking for an extra fee. Their stump-grinder operator Tevo squeezed his machine through an incredibly tight gate (maybe 1/2" of clearance) and ground the stumps without damaging my deck which was maybe 4" away. I do not recommend this company for your tree needs. Business owner Gus Lugo is not a man of his word. He or his men were to return to complete the job. I felt it was questionable upon receiving a late night text stating that his men will stop by early the following morning for their tools. In asking about completion of the job he assured me that it would be done. The time period promised has elapsed and no one has returned. I was entrusting to think that he was a man of honest intentions and would complete the job as we discussed. Gus was paid in full (in good faith) lthough there remains significant work to complete. It was a mistake to have trusted this person and to have selected this company. Additionally the guys left their personal mess behind. Chip bag and mandarin peels just tossed in my yard. Trees were cut back however specific trees were not shaped in a natural way as requested. There are numerous companies to select from. I now know to never go with this company again as Gus Lugo is a dishonest and distrusting person. read more

I emailed Lugo's Expert Tree Service to get a quote. Adan, responded promptly and was able to come out and provide an estimate within a couple days. I obtained two other quotes which were equal cost, but decided to go with Lugo's due to Adan's promptness and his attention to detail while we were reviewing the job. Overall we trimmed about a dozen trees. This included two tall redwoods, a large oak, there eucalyptus trees and a medium maple. On the day of the Trimming, the crew arrived on time. Did exactly as was planned, and we're very open to additions or changes as the trimming progressed. By the end of the day they pick up all the branches, leaves and debris away, beating no waste in the area. At the end there were no surprises. The bill was exactly the estimate. Gus and his crew met or exceeded all of my expectations. I hired them to trim (2) very large live oak trees that had many obstacles sitting below the canopy, which required additional time. Gus and his crew showed up were on time, as promised. They were friendly and easy to work with. Gus, the owner, was courteous, responsive and prompt. He is very easy to work with. Not only did Gus have to work with the property owner, myself, but he also had to work with the city to comply with their requirements. His crew was efficient and made sure everything was cleaned to my liking. They were also required by the city to do stump grinding of the Crape Myrtle to a certain depth in a narrow median. I've had the pleasure of working with Gus' team a few times now. Gus was responsive to my request, timely to the appointment, and reasonable on when he could begin work and the cost. While the tree trimming was adequate, the crew was oblivious to their surroundings (our house and yard), despite asking them repeatedly to be careful. Much of landscaping below was damaged both by dropped branches and by the crew walking through garden beds. Worse several branches were dropped onto our roof damaging it and causing leaks. In addition, the scraped the side of our house hauling branches from the backyard. I understand the difficulty in working over someone's house and yard but never experienced this level of carelessness. We've used several tree services in the past and never had these problems. I would not recommend them because of this lack of care. read more

Every year I need tree work done on a very large privet tree, a Meyer lemon tree, and an old but producing apricot tree. The work on the privet tree is essential to cut off the messy bloom before it litters the driveway. I'm not sure how many crews Lugo has, but the crew that did the work for me did the best job ever. The crew chief was a genuine climber, and moved around the inside of the privet with impressive speed and skill. After the cuts, the courteous crew cleaned up the site and left it cleaner than they found it. For me this was important.
