We contracted out to Twain Harte Tree Service to fell 13 large bug killed trees on our lot in Twain Harte. Scott's bid was very competitive compared to other tree services in the area. We also talked with Scott about potential issues with dropping the trees in certain areas and he gave great additional input and suggestions on the limitations of the area and how he could make it work in the confined space. Well appreciated input and communication on his end. He and his crew arrived when scheduled and started work prepping the trees and falling them. They finished the job in a very timely fashion and the quality of his felling of the trees was excellent in reducing the disturbance to the surrounding area. Scott also facilitated the removal of the logs for us by contacting another contractor to bring in their log truck as well as hauling 3 loads in his trailer. This was very much appreciated! We live in a heavily forested area & need to maintain the required defensible space on our property. To do this we have removed a lot of brush & trees. Scott has provided us with the necessary space while still keeping the natural beauty of the area. We are so happy with this tree company. Over Memorial weekend we discovered a cedar tree about to fall on our cabin. The tree was leaning towards the cabin and lifting out of the ground. I called Twain Harte Tree Service immediately. Scott dropped everything and arrived within the hour. He secured the tree to another tree so it would not fall. That was Sunday. Scott was back Wednesday morning with his crew and a large crane. The tree was successfully removed. That weekend we were hosting a barbecue with friends and our three grandchildren and their parents were spending the weekend. We recently lost 20 large trees in the Twain Harte "microburst" (read small tornado). Scott came with a crane the day he was called, removed 3 trees from our roof and buttoned it up against the rain. We needed one Black Oak removed and 2 out of 3 major branches removed on a second that were encroaching on spruce and pine trees and hanging precariously over our back yard (estimated height 80 feet). The job was complicated by lack of direct access on our property. THTS crews (with prearranged permission) accessed the site by a neighbor's property. The crew showed up on time (with a confirmation call the night before) and in a single day took out the trees, without damaging an existing fence or the trees that were in the line of fire from the Black Oaks. The crew cleaned up the debris, removed all the cut wood, and made sure the area on our neighbor's property was left as clean as they found it. I have used and recommended Twain Harte Tree for years now and have always had a pleasant experience! Recently, Scott and his team took down a stand of trees for a friend of mine that had died due to the bark beetle (some sort of cypress, I think) that were at least 60' tall and very close to their house. They removed them with such precision it was remarkable! It was so great to have someone with years of experience and knowledge to make you feel comfortable about such dangerous work. This company did a fantastic job removing a large cedar tree from the roof of our house. I was impressed at how fast Scott returned my call (I had called 5 other companies with no response) and how quickly he came to our house to evaluate the situation. Scott's estimate was very reasonable and he had a team here within 30 minutes of my approval. All work was completed as requested and they cleared up all the slash. We have owned property in Twain Harte since 2002. At least three times Scott removed trees for us. We found him to be quite capable. He removed a very large ponderosa pine from near the road without a hitch and another within eight feet of a building. He gave us good advice on which trees should be cut and which saved, keeping safety in mind. He was fair in his estimates and kept his agreements regarding clean-ups. Called Scott told me he would come look at it, Scott was at my house at 8:30 pm until 10:30 pm. Scott did a great job, 100 degrees that day he also saved a dove and her babies.
