Dr Dickerson has no people skills and cuts you off while you are trying to tell him the problems …read more He wanted me to have a test that cost 30 thousand to run a EEG for 3 days when I refused to shell out 30 thousand for a test that most likely will be useless ,plus I would have to drive 200 miles away because no one in Abilene does the test . He refused to change the medication I was on or do anything unless I had the 3 day EEG ( if I had no seizure in that 3 days the test is useless) His direct quote to me from his staff was " I can not treat a patient without a compass" So I suppose all his years of medical school was a complete waste . Bottom line is this . If i had spent 30 thousand to have a test and had no seizures it was just a waste of 30 thousand because he cant treat me without a compass. I have never ever in my life had a Dr so horrible and unwilling to listen to a patient . I would not recommend this Doctor to my worst enemy.He only tried 1 medication which was Keppra and when that didn't work he refused to try any other . My mother recommended him to me and couldn't quit raving how wonderful he was, boasting that there are people who drive from other towns just to be treated by him. After I met him I could see why. He actually listens to what you have to say, and makes the interaction with him pleasant and welcoming. After so many doctors being curt, rude or just plain dismissive, this was a revelation to me. He's also thorough, but doesn't put you through a litany of expensive tests you may not need. I've been suffering with back trouble for years and he was the first one to tell me I have bone spurs on the spine - some doctors wouldn't even *talk* to me without my having an MRI first. He works with you to find solutions that best fit your circumstances, and restored my faith in doctors. Possibly my favorite (and most trusted) physician ever.

Well, I'll stick with 4 stars cause he's a good doctor. I do like him and he always works with me…read more But the wait times are ridiculous. You might go to an exam room on time, but then it's 30 minutes to an hour before he comes in. Takes my whole lunch hour and then late back to work. Thank god for words with friends.
