And he has the audacity to not even call his patients when they have an appointment with him to let them know that he will not be in the office. I took a day off from work to go to see him and he wasn't even there, bc he had some conference and he forgot to reschedule his patients. Not only that but his attitude towards his patients is uncaring, cold, and rude. I had high blood pressure and instead of treating it like a family doctor should, he kept trying to push me off to another doctor. And after prescribing me medicine for 3 months, he did not want to renew my medicine anymore, even after I called several times to let him know that my blood pressure medication was running out in 2 days and I could not take a day off from work to go see him. He still would not even renew the prescription for a few days till the weekend when I can go see him. I plan to sue him for malpractice bc not renewing my blood pressure medicine is risking my health and putting my life in danger. He has no bedside manners, no patience, worse than a McD service.

I believe his office manager is Leah, and she holds what can be a hectic office together. Some may not like the walk-in, sign in system, but I prefer that. It's hit or miss depending on traffic that day, and don't see it very differently from doctors who DO have an appointment system, then make you wait 2 hours anyway. Dr. Lee is extremely patient, and will listen to you talk FOREVER (as evidenced by the long drawn out conversations I hear from many of the elderly patients he cares for). Some may find that as a negative, but I see that as a caring health practitioner. Contrast that to many other offices where 5 assistants check your vitals, then the doc comes in, looks at your chart, and is out the door within 5 mins. Dr. Lee is my "family doctor" meaning, he's my go-to, when I'm not feeling well, If it's something outside his expertise, he'll suggest a specialist, and not necessarily one associated with him (I know some docs run a referral scam). He *does* like to prescribe meds, but respects your wishes. I like that he is able to perform some tests, like blood, and urine (it's sent out to a lab), as opposed to having to see him for a referral to a lab (2 co-pays). I'm here because I misplaced his number, and googled it. Decided to give him a well-deserved review. For those who are used to the "Chinese system" of doing things (often seemingly haphazard), you wont have any problems. His office hours have changed somewhat- he's off on Tuesdays, and Thursdays (I don't know if he practices elsewhere on those days). Another upside to his office is, He has hours on Saturdays as well. I searched on my health insurance's website for nearby cardiologists. I came across Dr. Chen's contact information. Luckily, I was able to schedule an appointment for today on Monday morning. I walked over to Dr. Chen's office located inside of Prince Center for my 4:00 pm appointment. I arrived 30 minutes early to fill out the paperwork then paid for today's visit with my credit card. I answered all of the nurse practitioner's questions regarding my health. Also, a technician performed an EKG, an echocardiogram, and other ultrasounds. After I met with Dr. Chen, he recommended wearing a 24-hour heart monitor. Lol, I will sacrifice showering for one night. Tomorrow, I will be back to return the heart monitor. Wish me luck!

Surprised, I asked why she'd brought her dog to work, she said it wasn't her dog- that she'd never bring a dog to the office. I sensed that she wasn't happy about being responsible for the animal. l'd give this "doctor" a neg.10 if it were an option! He ignored serious symptoms my partner has been having. Some VERY serious symptoms in the past 3 months. Complaints of extremely low energy, weakness and pain in arms, loss of dexterity in right hand, elbows shoulders, lower spine, right side, legs, frequent (every 2 hours) urination, hearing loss, were all ignored even when I pointed out that many of these symptoms are associated with some serious diseases! For several years he has had severe subcutaneous hemorrhaging and bruising all along his forearms from the slightest impact. Markings so black, blue,and purple, that at first glance look like Rorschach tattoos and don't go away! My partner sees Koo 3-4x/year for routine health checks. How could he have missed the bruising on his arms? Koo's response was to prescribe prednisone for inflammation. When I asked about referral for further evaluation i.e. MRI, kidney function test? other tests? even asked if PT could help with weakness arms. legs, etc. Koo wrote "PT" on a prescription pad! Not even a referral for bloodwork! The response was a smile, a comment that I am a "tough lady" aka difficult! On July 14, 2025, my partner collapsed and was rushed to Montefiore Nyack Hospital, where he remained for 11 days having been diagnosed with multiple myeloma!! Hallmark sign: elevated Ca in the blood!~ And that bruising/subcutaneous hemorrhaging, btw, is a symptom of multiple myeloma as well! Koo missed all the hallmarks! And he never followed up with a phone call to see how his patient of 20+ years was feeling! My partner has had radiation therapy, is now in a nursing rehab facility. He is extremely weak and will be receiving chemotherapy weekly for at least a year if not longer. I can't help but think that symptoms didn'thave to get this severe. Had this been picked up a year or two ago or even a few months ago, he wouldn't have gotten as weak and as ill as he is now! I wouldn't recommend this "doctor" to anyone-not even for a common cold!

Doctor is patient and attentive, communicates well. Woman front desk staff (I have only seen one person) is very pleasant and professional, but can be hectic running the telephones, front desk, paperwork, and related. Many of their patients seem to be long-time devoted patients. Sticking points are a no-appointment policy: first come, first serve; expect a wait accordingly (though regular patients consider it worth it). Can be difficult to get through on the phone. Their daily office hours vary, so be sure to check the posted schedule, best to call for hours when in doubt (I think it is on the voicemail). Avoid going during the last hour (or perhaps last two hours). Best to go earlier in the day and expect a wait. Regular patients consider the wait well worth. Have patience for this is a wonderful, genuinely caring doctor and staff who makes the effort to give each patient the time they need (not possible with rigid appointment schedules).
