Also I didn't like that everytime there were blood test results, the office wanted you to come in a second time, for a second visit. You can tell me over the phone your concerns and call in a rx if necessary. I don't need to come in again. Never had to do that before. DR. Chan was professional and seemed to be sufficient enough. I came in one day to get tested for oral herpes because although I didn't have enough evidence to say what it was, I still wanted to be safe and get it checked out. With my insurance, co-pay of $15 is required for every visit so I went through that and saw the assistant, I can't remember her name but she has blonde hair from what I remember. So she checks me out, is super rough with my lips and tells me it's herpes without any further testing. I ask for more testing a couple of times and she tells me it's not needed and recommends me products to purchase. I left feeling emotionally distraught because they didn't do any testing and although the co-pay was cheap, it felt unnecessary. I went back in and demanded for testing and after seeing how emotionally distraught I was, was when she let me get testing. Guess what? Testing came back negative and the bump was actually a mucocele. Not only that but I received another co-pay in the mail. Again I don't know much about Maslavi but his assistant was super unprofessional in this case and caused me to no longer have him as my PCP.

I hope the office improves attention to detail on official forms, since even small mistakes can have serious consequences for immigration applicants. Update: After posting my review, this clinic tried to have it removed by falsely claiming that my husband was never a patient. We have receipts, appointment records, and the completed USCIS Form I-693 proving otherwise. When we first called about their documentation error, the receptionist was rude and dismissive, saying "you want it fixed, you pay for service again" and "it's not our fault, we don't need to fix it." She repeatedly cut us off, put us on hold, and refused to help until we mentioned filing a complaint with the New York Department of Health. Only then did they start responding -- citing irrelevant HIPAA excuses instead of correcting their own mistake. They still refuse to take any accountability or include us in the correspondence they claim to have with USCIS. They even told us my husband's varicella vaccine had "expired," which is medically and legally false, and forced him to pay for a new one even though it was already documented in his record. Their daily office hours vary, so be sure to check the posted schedule, best to call for hours when in doubt (I think it is on the voicemail). Avoid going during the last hour (or perhaps last two hours). Best to go earlier in the day and expect a wait. Regular patients consider the wait well worth. Have patience for this is a wonderful, genuinely caring doctor and staff who makes the effort to give each patient the time they need (not possible with rigid appointment schedules).

Dr. Desir was referred to me a few years ago and I have not had to look any further. The office is clean and they practice safety precautions and there are plastic shields between the chairs. She is very professional and very attentive. There is never a long wait and I am usually seen within 10-15 min of arriving by the nurse for blood work and then seen by Dr Desir within 10-15 min after that. Once in the exam room She really talks to you and asks questions and is able to connect on a personal level. She does not try to rush you out the door. She has limited hours so it could be a challenge connecting between visits but if you have the portal she is good with responding to your messages sent through the portal. She is caring, personable, thorough, and friendly. I even had my mother and mother in law come from Florida to see her because they were not getting the attention and care I thought they should get. He gave treatments that helped with my pain for over a year along with PT unfortunately my body didn't the tolerate as accepted but not as long as it should've.
