We were there because the people that run Jana B's Food truck were sponsoring an educational snake exhibit. They had someone come in who was an experienced Herpetologist and he brought his collection of Non-venomous snakes in to show the kids and talk about each snake. He brought in a Rat Snake, an Green Emerald Boa, a Bull Snake, and a White Python of which species I failed to catch. He talked at length about each snake and at the end of the talk about each one, he let the kids who wanted to come up and hold some of the snakes! Our 6 year old had his sights set on the White Python which was about 5-6 feet long! He got to hold it and it really made his day!!! Afterward upon leaving everyone got to stop at get some good food from Jana B's Foodtruck! I picked up 5 of their Really good Corn Dogs to bring home for lunch! I also got to meet some really nice people while there! It was a very enjoyable experience for the kids and adults alike!

I had been wanting to visit the Rosenberg Library since booking my vacation to Galveston. This…read morelibrary did not disappoint! The Rosenberg Library is huge! On the fourth floor, they have it dedicated to the history of Galveston. It was interesting to learn more about the 1900 hurricane that devastated Galveston. The library did a fantastic job with that exhibit as well as the Galveston's African American history and the history of Galveston in general. There is also a rare book room as this floor and very clean restrooms. The third floor was the young adult and computer area which we did not go to, but it did look nice. The second floor had books, board games, video games, DVDs, audiobooks, and more to check out. (We needed up checking out a board game for our stay.) This floor also had magazines, a community jigsaw puzzle, a small used bookshop area (with books available for cheap and in great condition), and a few other things. The ground floor hosts the children's area which we did not go to, but it looked like a cute and engaging area for children. The circulation desk is on the ground floor as well. Staff was all very friendly as well. There's also ample free parking in the parking lot for the library as well. Definitely check out this library when you're in Galveston.

These previously loved…read morebooks are categorized by different genres and shelved neatly which makes it easy to navigate. I took my time browsing each isle. It felt like a quiet sanctuary filled with pages waiting to be turned. When I shop for used books, most of the time I'm not looking for anything in particular. I love to go for the thrill of finding something I didn't know I needed. The owner was helpful by way of suggesting some books that just came in. He went to the back of the store and brought the box to me. I didn't find anything additional to what I'd already chosen. Being a book lover, it's hard to say no but I also find pleasure in building my to be read book list. The prices are fair. I bought two books for under $10 which made my book-loving heart (and budget) very happy.

There's something magical about visiting a local bookstore. I've stopped by this one a couple of…read moretimes and can't recommend it enough. The owners are so kind and helpful. One of them even helped me choose three books and offered a great deal! You can tell they truly value their customers and are passionate about discovery through books.
