Sanborns is a sort of Mexican Denny's w franchises throughout the country's metropolitan areas. Many years ago I came here w my uncle & since then I continue to partonize Sanborns. Regardless of the location the food has always been safe, consistent & familiar; service is always pleasant & efficient. Frequently we see business people in dressy attire. If you are dressed very casual you may feel underdressed.
Diverse menu but their specialties are of course traditional Mexican dishes.
The exterior is a bit icky but remeber it's a very busy intersection. Once you walk in the interior feels like you stepped into a miniaturized department store clean, crisp & air conditioned! lol There is an electronics section, beauty counter, perfume counter, gifts, toys, boxed candies, books, all occasion cards, & bakery.
Location: South east corner of Avenida 16 de Septiembre (cuts right through downtown GDL) & Avenida Juarez, a major intersection. A block from the heart of downtown & across to Plaza de la Technologia (electronics shops).
Plaza Universidad exit from Tren Ligero Linea 2 (light rail line 2) is one block west of the restaurant.
Parking: None, street parking available but almost always taken blocks away. There is, however, a parking structure next door that is inexpensive, quick & safe.
WC: Downstairs. Complimentary for customers (show your receipt) otherwise there is a small fee.
