Accompanying my friend on a business trip which will involve three sailings in one day. Once we get off here we will head further up into Powell River to catch the ferry to Comox which is on Vancouver Island. Absolutley nothing stands out in my mind about this terminal.

We also weren't expecting the best room as we saw how much the price fluctuated depending on where you are on the property, some are ocean views and much bigger suites. The hotel photographs better than it actually looks. The location is just outside of the city by 7 mins which we didn't mind at all, the location is beautifully located right on the water but boy could it be so much better with a good upgrade and modernization. We checked in easy and the staff was pleasant. We got to our room and it was abit weird in terms of layout. Stairs down to the double bed room. There's a table randomly in the corner with one chair. The room is spacious but there's nothing to fill the space, there's no artwork either when they could totally lean into the West coast of it all. The bathroom was freezing and shoved to the back of the room like a closet - no window or ventilation. The decks have absolutely no privacy screening and the furniture is really uncomfortable so it's not the most pleasant to sit outside unless you really wanna chat with your neighbors. The beds were the best part - super comfy mattress and sheets. The amenities are worn down - we went to the gym and a lot of the stuff wasn't working. We didn't try the pool as it was quite busy with kiddos. We did however enjoy sitting on the dock down by the water for abit to soak in the ocean and sun! When we were ready to leave our car was absolutely covered in bird shit lol. There should be some sort of warning to not park under a particular tree at the back as apparently it happened to the guy next to us too a day before so he switched parking spots! We had to go to the gas station to wash it off. All in all I'd look at other options next time.

If i could give 10 stars I would.  No disrespect to any…read moreof the other bigger tour groups with a lots of reviews but THIS is the tour to do!  I'm so glad that everything else was booked because we (party of 4) Literally had the entire boat for ourselves so it was a private tour at the same prices of the other tour companies. Zack took an incredible amount of time for our tour and gave us a personalized adventure.  We were also blessed to see whales, porpoise, urchins, starfish,  seals, sea lions. He knew all the places to go and gave such an amazing insight of the different islands and mountains. He also gave us snacks and beverages from locally sourced places. Literally we could not have asked for better and it was even more amazing than we could have imagined.  When we come back we will ONLY book here.

From…read morethe moment we walked on the dock, Captain Zach welcomed us on board, and made is feel comfortable and safe, he even had a scavenger hunt game prepared for our toddler! Once we were on our way, the learning began! Did you know that oysters are one of the most sustainable forms of aquaculture? Or that one little oyster filters a bathtub of water per day, keeping our oceans clean, pristine, fresh and beautiful? We learned so many incredible facts about his family oyster farm, the innovation they are adding to the industry, oysters as a species and the local aquaculture. The boat has both inside cabin space and outside deck space, making it great to enjoy the sea breeze and spray, but also shade from the hot sun. Captain Zach has an incredibly deep knowledge of the Discovery Islands and Desolation Sound, pointing out mountains, islands, bays and even rock formations, and added a depth of history to everything he shared. His passion to share this area of Vancouver Island is contagious! We saw a pod of dolphins, sea lions, eagles, all sorts of waterfowl. At no moment did we feel rushed, it was a beautiful leisurely day on the water - that also kept at 3 year old happy and engaged all day - and ended with the a delicious feast of oysters. We all had a blast and can't wait to be back.

Super chill, relaxed, and so knowledgeable of the local topography. It was great to nerd out with someone about geography and caves. After a brief hike, we got to the cave. It was my first time in this environment. The actual cave itself is marvelous. We got to check out stalactites, some interesting formations in the rock that have developed over centuries, and got to do some tight squeeze crawls and one pull-up style climb, which resulted in me getting stuck for a very terrifying 10 seconds, until I realized a rock had snagged my pants lol. We saw some creepy cave bugs, and got a chance to sit for a moment in total darkness and silence. My kids loved it. Cannot wait to go back for the maximum adventure tour!

After doing a little research into "must do" activities in the area, my husband and I signed up for…read morea two cave tour at Horne Lake Caves. The website was easy to navigate, and I appreciated the ability to sign and submit our waivers ahead of time. The drive up to the check-in place involved a pristine logging road, according to my husband and I would have to agree it was good as far as logging roads go. We went on the two cave tour with our guide, Oscar. I had been a little apprehensive about going on the cave tour the night before (because we were willingly going into pitch-black, cold, tight spaces), but Oscar's passion, humour, and knowledge of the area eased my fears. Thanks to the information on the website, we were well dressed and prepared for the temperatures (they provided sturdy helmets and head lamps). Oscar took us on the hike up to the cave and gave us plenty of opportunities to rest. He guided us through every step of the two caves, so I never felt anxious or afraid, and I was able to go through the physicality of the cave tours (some climbing, crouching, etc), without much trouble. I emerged from the two cave tour smiling and exuberant, having done something completely new to me. I felt the prices were reasonable, and I would recommend the tours for sure!

I took a few ski lessons here (as an experienced snowboarder) - they were helpful. Problem is they only carry men's ski boots - is that a joke? Trying to get the right size and fit was annoying - and honestly, it's 2023 - can you not ignore half the population? Otherwise - great mountain.

Started to snow and was getting quite dark very fast. Everybody there was nice and we even got a ride down the mountain to make it easier for the person giving us a ride there and back!
