Loading was efficient though the loading staff directed us to a narrow upper deck that was difficult to exit the vehicle or navigate the slender corridor between the railing and cars and mirrors sticking out. I left my walker behind. I have a handicap sticker clearly displayed on the rear view mirror so it seems the loading person doesn't take a handicapped sticker into consideration. I'm sure there are older folks not handicapped significantly that would also need to avoid the narrow ramped parking "shelf". Next time I'll let the gate person know of my need to access the elevator. Still, I'm not sure why he put us up that narrow deck when it's an suv regardless of a handicapped driver but direct the small sedans to the main decks. Then again everyone is practically driving an SUV these days. So, communication is key. Anyway you don't pay if going to Salrty Bay which I guess is local knowledge but the gate staff said nothing. Seems BC Ferry Staff give you as little info as possible and signage is typically poor in these smaller terminals. There is a small foot passenger booth/waiting area, probably appreciated in the winter. The views are scenic and the trip is of a moderate in length. I had the traditional breakfast with bacon, potatoes, toast and salsa. My eggs were over medium. My husband had the traditional breakfast with ham, croissant roll and his eggs were over easy. I also ordered a pot of tea and asked if I could have a refill pot of hot water after I finished this one. The answer was yes. There are many places to see on the ferry and my next choice was the gift store. Every gift store is different. This ship didn't have the British Columbia section of books for sale, but they had nice looking clothes for men and women. I took my reading selection and finished my time next to my hubby with my cup of unfinished tea. Next trip I will provide photos.

We arrived in record time and since it was Daylight savings time last week it was still light when we made it to the resort. She was really entertaining and kind, as she also helped with several lost travelers standing at one of the stations. It was a smooth ride on a sunny day and the views were absolutely gorgeous. FYI, there are no amenities on board, so no concession stand or washrooms, although the ride roundtrip is only around 40 minutes -you don't really need it to begin with.

It's such a short and sweet ride, but you still get to enjoy beautiful views of False Creek along the way. Another favourite is taking it over toward Science World and making a whole afternoon out of it. You can visit Science World, walk around False Creek and then head back to Granville Island. It's also really pretty at night when all the lights and signs are reflecting on the water. After spending a long day at Granville Island, hopping on the boat and just enjoying the ride is such an easy way to end the day. And the best part is that it's cheap! For the price, it's such a fun little Vancouver experience and something I keep coming back to and always making sure to have my out of town guests join in as well!

I went with my daughter and my young grandson--it was his very first time on a boat, and now he's totally hooked! I don't think it should be named a "ferry" terminal when it's a CRUISE SHIP TERMINAL. Well, we learned quickly and drove about an hour to this Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. We didn't have reservations, but luckily we're able to board as "walk-ins". The ride was uneventful. There was a gift shop, cafeteria, and restrooms available. We had brought snacks, so we ate on board. We were able to walk around the outside of the ferry after we parked our car and made a note of what level and what stairway were closest. Overall, it was an alright experience. We know what to do next time!

It's pretty hard to tell which direction the ferry is going next though unless you're very familiar with the routes, so make sure you ask the driver just in case. I find that the ones I've interacted with all ask you where you're going before letting you on, so at least I haven't taken the wrong boat yet. They have a zone system for ticketing and at first it was a bit confusing for which zone ticket was needed to go where. But they have nice maps at each stop so it wasn't too hard to decipher after awhile. The boat drivers were also pretty nice and were happy to answer questions about tickets. I took the boats during the Big Picnic event at David Lam park. There were other people on the boat but it was not crowded at all. Boats also came all the time and so we didn't have to wait much before ours came. The boat doors were left open when I rode the boats and so it was really nice to be able to take pictures and videos without obstruction from the windows or clear screens. The creek is relatively calm most of the time and the rides are short, so most people probably won't get sea sick.

The ferries themselves are large, modern and well equipped with multiple passenger and vehicle decks, cafeteria, shops and plenty of seating.
