It was the best Chinese food I've ever had in my life. And the service was amazing. It was very nice in there.

I started with the cup of seafood chowder which was really a bowl. he broth was perfect and the mix of seafood impressive. It was a great starter. I tried the Rappie Pie because when in NS.... It was OK but not really my cup of team. The quality of the dish was excellent but it was my first taste of it - at the encouragement of mom - and it just didn't work for me. I doubt it would work for me anywhere so I wouldn't ding them for this dish which is an Acadian classic. I finished with the Swedish Apple pie which was also amazing. I would definitely recommend a stop at Red Cap if you are in the area. There was one server - as bast as I could tell - and she was so pleasant and attentive. She did a great job!

Probably one of the best, freshest seafoods Ive ever had. Absolutely delicious and spectacular. While we are on the subject we had extremely, friendly, great customer service. The restaurant is very homey, clean, and tight. I had the seafood chowder - so good. And Fish and Chips - awesome. And I washed it down with a nice Canadian draft brew. My GF had the seafood platter (clams, oysters, all that stuff) and she really liked it. Oh, yeah. Big tyme, big time. I saw someone gave a one star review. Disregard / overlook that. Its not credible.

I had the Chicken Souvlaki ($18.99). It came with white rice, pita bread, salad, and tzatziki. The chicken was so dry and tough. It tasted like it was reheated multiple times over. I was so disappointed. At least it was lean breast meat and not fatty nor gristley. Dipping it in the tzatziki did help. The tzatziki was creamy and quite good. The rice, like the chicken, was also dry, and it had clumpy bits. It was also just plain white rice. I was expecting a pilaf. The salad was great though. It was a real spring mix of greens, cucumbers, tomatoes and feta cheese. Vegetables were fresh. The only thing is I asked for the dressing on the side and the salad came already dressed. It had a bit too much dressing for my liking, but wasn't too excessive. I noticed that my husband's uncle, the host of our dinner, also ordered the Chicken Souvlaki, and his plate had the salad dressing on the side (he did not request the dressing on the side). I think the server gave him my plate, and gave me his plate. He had already started eating, and the dressing on my salad wasn't excessive, plus I didn't want to have to wait for them to remake the salad, so I didn't say anything and just ate the plate that was given to me. My husband's uncle said that he was disappointed with the Chicken Souvlaki that day as the meat was dry and they "usually do better." He's a regular, so I guess they were having a bad night in the kitchen. My husband had one of the daily specials, which was a shrimp carbonara. He said it was very good. There were some in our party who had the fish and chips and they thought it was excellent. Although one person had the Cajun Haddock, which was another daily special, and thought it was tough and overcooked, but she loved the mashed potatoes. So it looks like your mileage may vary depending on what you order. My husband and I shared the Reese's Peanut Butter cake and it was rich, decadent and delicious. Others who had the homemade cheesecake with blueberry sauce loved it and one person even said it was one of the best cheesecakes he's ever had. We were a large group of 13 and our server did a great job (with the exception of swapping the "dressing on the side" Chicken Souvlaki and the "pre-dressed salad" Chicken Souvlaki). He was super friendly and welcoming. He handled our group on his own, so I can forgive the mistake. The restaurant has a bowling alley in it, as well as slot machines. They also had dart boards. It's the kind of bar/pub I would expect in a small town. There is free parking in their lot, but you can also park down by the Tourist Bureau for free, which is what we did. It's a short walk from there. There are not too many dining options in Liverpool, NS, and my husband's uncle picked this place because they could accommodate our large group and would be able to serve us all rather quickly. I wasn't thrilled with my main course, but it seems like the kitchen is usually better, or so I've been told. I might have caught them on a bad night, or they aren't used to large groups. So I guess your mileage may vary.

The hash felt a little dry with just toast but then with some jam on the toast, it felt perfect. The toast, their homemade wheat and white mixed was a chunky one, very soft, huge portion size.. homemade jam was delicious too. Omelet too was nice, but overcooked for my liking but good otherwise. You could hear the sizzle of eggs hitting the pan while you wait for your order and then you hear the bell ding, meaning your order is ready, gave the place an old work charm. The place could use few improvements - get rid of weed around the entrance door - as you enter the cafe you are hit with the 'old' smell - the bathrooms could be cleaner

What a jewel to have such a great dining opportunity in the middle of a very small town…read more I'm cutting it a little slack with the five rating, just because it's a small roadside venue offering great food, friendly service and occasional live music. If it were in a larger municipality I'd expect the washrooms to be a bit cleaner and staff available to greet us upon entry. With only one waitress, we waited around a bit before being seated. Easily forgettable when you taste the food. Between us, we had a burger, fish cakes, and seafood chowder. Topped it off with wonderful bumble berry crisp. All we're great and service was attentive and friendly. They offer many gluten free and vegetarian options but limited dairy free choices. The Menu has some traditional items like scallops, mussels and salmon. Burgers are made with grass fed local beef, tomato chow and brown bread garnish some meals, and they offer lots of pastas and other shareables. Will definitely be back!
