We love Lure! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Every year we come up to Alex and sit on the Lure patio with our pup.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They are all so nice and honestly service has always been great. Our food has been just how we expected every time. We got the Caesar salad and tatchos.

Almost done walleye with grilled zucchini and squash.

Food = good but overpriced (20$ tough calamari I'm looking at you). Walleye fillet with zucchini and squash is good. Walleye sandwich my friend had was WAY bitter, they subbed in a three triangle walleye tacos but no salsa or Siracha so lacked flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]IMHO the place is overpriced (maybe due to the lake view?) 20$ avg calamari and others need some work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The original plan was to go to Zorbaz for tacos and/or pizza pies, but it seemed pretty packed there. Decided instead to check out Lure Lakebar just across the way, a party of 3 for dinner. Seated right away, in a semi-indoor table area with open-air access with views of the patio, sand volleyball court, and of course, the lake! Most patrons seemed to be coming from the nearby golf course/club. TVs around the bar in case you wanted to catch up on some other live sports coverage. We did not get there in time for Happy Hour Specials but the list looked pretty good. We started with a half dozen raw oysters on the half shell to share, which came with lemon, horseradish, mignonette, and hot sauce. I had the Lobster Roll with Kettle Chips (Tender pieces of lobster meat tossed in house chive & lemon dressing, toasty split-top bun, greens). This was buttery and really hit the spot. My companions had the 8-ounce Grilled Salmon and the Seafood Bowl (shrimp, lobster, ahi, crab, roasted corn, Manhattan style tomato broth, arugula, grilled baguette). My only regret is not getting a side of beer cheese for the kettle chips! Next time I'd go for the signature Pan Fried Walleye, Fish & Chips (Walleye), or the Walleye Hoagie as it is the Minnesota state fish after all.

Burger and fries - blah!

Extremely average food at premium prices ($19 burgers! $20+ salads with a protein!). Food was all over-salted. Fries smell like they were fried with fish. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Only saving features were the ambiance and good service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I liked it for the view. The ambience and the live music. I really enjoyed the service by oour waitress. It was her first week and she did a great job. I did not particularly enjoy my food. I got the seafood boil and I thought it was under seasoned. I didn't particularly enjoy my food but the crowd. The scenes and the music made up for it.

Lovely spot by the lake. I visit Alexandria several times a year and one of my biggest disappointments is that there are very few places to eat on or near one of the many lakes! I can not believe I have never been here before. The options for vegan and vegetarians are decent- better than average greater MN restaurant but I wish there was more creativity. Not sure there any truly vegan items but I had the mushroom sandwich and held the cheese. It was quite good as was the tomato soup (vegetarian not vegan). The Serrano margarita sounded promising but was disappointing. Why do restaurants make these so sweet? Way too much syrup and soda. Make it smaller with no soda, more lime and syrup. I want to taste the tequila land lime. The setting is perfect. Many seats have a lakeside view and the food was generally good. This will be a new favorite for my Alexandria visits

We came by boat and we were able to dock across the street from the restaurant.

Hey, what's with all the negative reviews of this place? If you are on lake time, vacation time... get over it. This place provided the perfect amount of drinks, food and attitude that I needed today. We sat mid bar with air conditioning and open doors to the outside and it was so comfortable.

Sis and I vacationed in area in mid-March. Crazy in know... should have gone to Mexico. Alexandria is a town to be explored in the Summer!! We had dinner at the Lure Lakebar. This place would be amazing when you can actually see the Lake and not a frozen white tundra. Food was delicious, cocktails were tasty. It was fun to be seated in a booth that has windows into the kitchen. We got to watch food come off the line and many malts being made. Would love to come back again if we're every in the area again.

Chelsey took care of us! Love the fish tacos. Hubby said BBQ sauce on his burger was a bit tangy. But gorgeous bar, ambience! Greta service. 10/10.

Ribeye steak dinner, with greasy potatoes.

After our order was in and we had our appetizer we waited and waited for drink refills so I had to get my own from the bar. Another five minute wait after that, still no server so I had to get my mother another mojito from the bar. When the food arrived, my wife was served walleye when she had ordered salmon and the server had the nerve to show my wife what she had written down, walleye of course, and she said "I wouldn't have written down walleye if you didn't say it". My wife doesn't like walleye and we all heard her say salmon! To top it off, I ordered the ribeye steak and granted it said "market price" but never did I imagine it was $120 on the bill and the potatoes were dripping with grease to the point I couldn't eat them. We could have paid less @ Manny's Steakhouse in Minneapolis for less and the service would have been excellent. For the prices in this place the service should never be this bad. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was bad and too loud, and the place was nearly empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will never go back.

Walleye & Onion Rings (lots of bones)

The vibe was five star, great music and atmosphere! Food was a bit overpriced but descent. Lots of bones in the walleye... the sandwich was just a dressed up grilled cheese.

Mediocre food for far too much money. The place itself looks legit with a great atmosphere but just save yourself and don't stop here.

Small portions, too expensive. Don't waste your money. Can get same quality food from local bars.

Nicest lake view dining in Alexandria. Food is fine, good beer selection. Upscale decor.

It's a little hard to spot because the sign doesn't stand out and it's tucked between buildings. You order at the counter and they will bring your food to you. I love the idea the owner has about bringing fresh locally farmed ingredients to the menu. The menu is simple and it was perfect for lunch. We tried the tomato basil soup, smoked turkey sandwich and chicken salad sandwich. Everything tasted so good! Just a heads up, they aren't huge sandwiches but it was plenty for me.

We were traveling and our anniversary was while we were in Alexandria. We wanted something special, and a french dinner seemed cool. But wait. They had a "chef's table" as well. Not an everyday thing, and not inexpensive, but - a chef's table in Alexandria Minnesota? We were totally there. A five course meal, wines accompanying, and it was totally delightful. We often blog our travels, and we wrote pages about this meal. Kudos to Matthew and Amber!

We ordered some wings for an appetizer and both ordered medium rare ribeyes with no sides of any kind (carnivore style) for the main course. The wings were really good but turned out to be breaded so definitely NOT carnivore friendly. When the steaks make it to the table is where our dining experience took a turn for the worse. Their appearance had my mouth watering even if they were a little on the thin side - they looked great. Upon cutting the steaks, they were obviously overcooked to medium. This isn't a deal breaker for me and I can enjoy a medium steak as well even if it's not my preference so I was still excited for the first bite. I shouldn't have been. I think the grill marks on the steaks must come that way from the supplier because they had no grilled flavor, no char flavor and honestly... pretty much no flavor at all. For $30 per steak I guess I expected more. Overall I would say it could be a great place and atmosphere to go sit and have a drink and some apps but I would be hesitant to choose it for dinner again.
