Nice taproom. Elevated not pretentious atmosphere almost feels out of place in Alexandria. The menu is spectacular with some real surprises on it. Although the stay within familiar territory, they put their own spin on things that take them to the next level, such as their cream-cheese duck wontons. I've only ever sat at the bar and found the servers to be classic Minnesota nice. They're knowledgeable of their beers (which is an impressive selection for the area) and are always happy to share their knowledge of the area. Visited near the end of June as we were visiting family in the area. We took a table on the patio while we waited for our relative to arrive and there isn't any service and you have to scan the code on the tables. I always find this frustrating as I usually don't have glasses and even when I do, I hate reading a full menu on a tiny screen. We were outside almost 10 min waiting for our last person to arrive and as she walked up, the bartender came out with menus and said he was slow, so would take our order outside. So, the deal is, expect to go in and order at the bar after looking at the menu on your phone, if you sit outside. That could have been indicated a bit clearer to avoid the frustration. The bartender was great though, came out with drinks and also a couple times for the order. It did get busier after we got our meal so had to go inside to get and pay the check. The kids enjoyed the mocktails - a LOT and the adult drinks, Captian/Diet coke and Mojito were also enjoyed! The boys both ordered wings and said they weren't too spicy, were about what they expected. I ordered a cauliflower crust pizza, which was better than I've had other places. So well done with the crust. It was a cheese pizza with the right amount of cheese. We'd probably stop by again. The food was pretty good. The experience was okay. Restrooms were immaculate. Our server Austin was amazing! This will be our favorite stop when we are in the area. The burgers were amazing- full of flavor, the fries are not your basic fries- I would suggest adding their spicy avocado ranch (it isn't called that but they will know what you mean) use that to dip your fries. The Peanut butter burger is a must. Pair it with a peanut butter stout- perfect match. Taps provide a great selection. We randomly come by here for lunch once in a while and am always pleased with the Mac and cheese. Service is always good too. Good spot to grab a midday bite at the bar. Floor seating is available too if you prefer that over bar seating. read more

If I could give 10 starts I would. We had great good and lunch. I had pulled pork and slaw sandwich with a GF "bun" that was more like flatbread and so good! What an awesome burger! Ordered meals to go for my family of four yesterday. I got the jamacain burger, and the min corn dogs with fruit for the kids. It was a huge hit! My burger was so juicy and everything was so fresh. I was beyond excited when I saw the fries were made fresh!!!!! With real potatoes! The kids ate all the corn dogs and love them. This place was way interEsting and good! They have unique food choices. I got the peanut butter and jealous burger. It was surprisingly good. I don't think I would get it agAin because the peanut butter texture was sticky which made it hard to eat. It was fun to try!! The burger with the jelly and cream cheese was super good. I would def get that one again. Don't get it if you don't like sweetneSs though. The jelly makes it sweet. We also got a pizza which was delicious. The food fills you up. The atmosphere is modern yet relaxed and the place was packed with locals....always a good sign! Service was great and the food was so good! Beer selection for the hubs was great. Visited yesterday (Sunday evening). The menu is extremely limited with mostly expensive burgers, wraps and pizza. Have eaten there in the past and it was good but this time... When we got there one table was finishing their meal, two people were sitting at the bar and then there was our party of 3. We ordered our food, burgers and fries. How hard could that be? Took at least 45 minutes to get our food. The waitress said something about "issues" with the kitchen. My burger was pretty much burnt and dry. The other two weren't quite that well done. I usually order medium but wasn't asked by the waitress in this case. Anyway I choked down my dry burger. The beer and fries were both excellent by the way. Oh and two other tables of people showed up long after us and they got their food almost at the same time we did. No explanation. read more

The pretzel bread sticks with the cheese dip was super good, and so was the boneless BBQ wings :) But the service was a bit much the waiter came every 2 mins and took my drink when I was drinking it?! Update 10/11/18: Walked in around 5:00 asking if they have WiFi. The host: "IDK" -- as if I had asked a hard question. Said he would find out but deferred my question to the waitress, but by that time I'd already relaxed into my booth. The good: Food served hot and fast. Veggie burger and Cajun fries were tasty. Waitress pointed out $4 margaritas on Thursdays. The not so good: Asked about WiFi before I was seated. Host had no idea if they had WiFi and that the WiFi was down. "The Guy was here today to fix it but..." The but being he didn't fix it. Got it. Waitress didn't offer any consolation when I told her I specifically came for the WiFi but she did offer to delay my food order as I attempted to connect. Mango margarita tasted like a mango smoothie, very sugary, served in a beer mug. Not like a cocktail. Just a glass of simple carbohydrates that will cost me an extra hour on the treadmill. Wasn't worth it. I should have chose better. DJ's would be a cool place to hang during happy hour if the WiFi was working. Music was enjoyable, not too loud. I would've liked to sit away from other people if the WiFi was working but I didn't ask and it didn't matter anyway. Overall I'm learning that free and fast WiFi at Alexandria restaurants is not as standard as I've come to expect elsewhere. If it works, hooray. If it doesn't, meh, no one cares. If I need WiFi I should go to the library, which is functional but not as comfortable. But I can't have a burger and cocktail at the library, and the vibe isn't nearly the same. Also, would be nice to have non-meat or seafood salad options. All the salads only come with meat. read more

Nice place to come too if you live in the area or if you're touring. I came from California to visit some family and friends here in Alexandria. My friend and I were deciding where to go to lunch and he recommended this tap house. We were able to be seated right away. They have a full bar and some speciality drinks you can choose from as well. The menu is small but it has amazing food choices! I definitely recommend the Chili Lime Chicken Wrap! Service was great and friendly and food came out fast. If I'm in the area again, which I'm sure I will be, I'll definitely be coming here again! I REALLY hate lying on a menu. For me, that is strike 1, 2, and 3 for any establishment. The culprit here.... a Cuban sandwich. No where on the menu does it say the pulled pork is going to come smothered in barbecue sauce. No where. It also says that it comes with stone ground mustard. Well... no mustard, all BBQ sauce. All this means is they have their pork swimming in a pan of sauce back there for their pulled pork sandwiches and they called it good and used it for their Cuban. No thanks. If you wanna use BBQ pork, cool, you do you. But put it on your menu as such! read more

Stumbled upon DJ's looking for a place for dinner on a road trip. We were drawn in by the previous reviews about this wonderful raspberry sauce ! I got the ripping razz burger with raspberry sauce cheese curds jalapeño and cream cheese and substituted for vegetarian patty (beyond burger). Sounds weird but SO GOOD. Cheese curds were hot and everything went together surprisingly well. My boyfriend got the peanut butter and jealous burger. It had good flavor but was a little bit over cooked per his liking.
