Luscious Moi Salon was the PERFECT spot for wedding hair and makeup for my summer wedding at the Starved Rock Lodge! The salon was SO cute, very clean, and they were great at making us feel safe and comfortable during COVID19. Staff wore masks, took temperatures, and made sure we were the only ones in the salon during our appointment slot. I loved my bridal hair and makeup. Neil and his staff did a great job at making all of us feel special and beautiful, and helped me feel comfortable and excited on my wedding day. When I first spoke with Neal on the phone discussing my wedding day details he made me feel very comfortable. He was very easy to talk to and and made me feel good, which every bride needs during one of the most stressful times. During my make up trial we tried two different hair dos and had somewhat an idea how my make up would be for the wedding day. I was given a price of 110 for hair and 90 for makeup for everyone including me. As my wedding day approached, a couple days before I spoke with Neal on the phone and was given a price of 125 for hair now and 90 for makeup. That threw me quite off but it was far too late in the game to find anyone else. My day finally arrived and it was time to begin. Neal was in charge of make up and Jennifer was in charge of hair. My officiant got her make up done first and when he was finished she loved it except he did not put mascara on her blonde lashes when the fake lashes were placed. He did the same to my maid of honor, her blonde lashes were very visible with the fake lashes. They both ended up fixing the error themselves. Next was my very dark skinned bridesmaid. When Neal was done with her makeup she absolutely hated it. She looked extremely dark with very pink rosey cheeks. She ended up fixing it herself as well. Now it was my turn.... the bride. I'm already nervous as it is for the day but praying my make up will be perfect. And it was not, unfortunately. I see it in pictures and I got comments later as well. He made one spot on my forehead way too dark. Im not sure what he was thinking but I will forever have them in my wedding day pictures. Overall Neal was great company and kept the vibe going in the bridal suite. He was also extremely sweet and even left me and my flower girl lipsticks we could use throughout the night. Jennifer did a great job on every ones hair dos too. But if I could do it over again I would definitely would have checked out other salons before settling. read more

My sister is planning her wedding, and really hit it off with the stylists when the team from Luscious Moi was at the Bridal Show at Hornbaker's Garden earlier this year. They discussed the details, but when it came time to talk more in depth about pricing, Luscious Moi was nowhere to be found. She called, emailed, and never heard from them. I jumped in and tried TWICE to get a hold of them, but again, no answer. We were completely ghosted by this salon, and this is extremely unprofessional. We had both makeup and hair onsite and the team really went above and beyond to make the entire bridal party look amazing for this special day. We were taking pictures before the ceremony so hair and makeup was completed several hours before the ceremony yet when it was time for the ceremony our hair and makeup looked like it was just finished. This salon is great. It is in my hometown, and I will drive the two hours from Chicago to get my hair done because I can trust Neil and his staff. I've gone there for weddings and regular appointments. The salon has a very modern, pretty design and it feels comfortable. They never put the pressure on you to buy extra products, but they have a nice array of quality stuff from brands that are hard to find in the area. LOVE LOVE LOVE Luscious Moi and Neil! I live in NYC and would choose Neil over ANY high profiled NYC stylist or salon ANYDAY of the week. The salon is fun, classy, trendy, and yet no one acts 'too cool for school." Yet another reason I prefer Luscious Moi over my NYC experiences, no snoot but all the cool! I needed to get in earlier than the salon opened and I took the chance to ask if Neil could come in earlier for me. Low and behold, he did! ON A SATURDAY, at 8am. Not too many owners of a salon would do that for you. As a blonde, I get super paranoid about my hair color, but I felt so calm and at east in Neil's chair. As always, he did an excellent job on my color and got me in and out in time for my bridal shower. To top it off, he showered my new pup with tons of love too! I came across Luscious Moi at the Starved Rock Lodge Bridal Expo. Neil's enthusiasm, humor, and friendliness won me over, and I booked their services immediately for my girls and I for my wedding. The ambiance and decor of the place is certainly bright, fun, relaxing, clean, and gave that experience of simple enjoyment. Took a chance nearly two years ago because I was looking for a change. Best decision EVER! I drive over an hour every six weeks to see Neil and I couldn't be happier. I have fine blonde hair and I will not trust anyone else to care for it. My cuts are chic and the color is always outstanding. What I love most is that Neil has a vision for my hair and my look. Made appointments on May 6th for my daughter and niece to get their hair and makeup done on May24th at 2 o'clock. Show up at 1:45 on the 24th and the rude receptionist claims she has no appointments for that time. This was supposed to be a special day for my girls it was there very first dance recital. They didn't even try to make it right. As she claimed earlier there were NO appointments so why not right the wrong and get the girls in instead of saying there was nothing she could do! Although closed on Sundays, Neil opened his salon for me and my Bridal party and they didn't even have an issue when I kept adding folks to the list last minute! This past weekend the salon catered to a large wedding party and exceeded any and all expectations. Not only did they create classic looks for all the bridesmaids, but made the bride feel comfortable and relaxed as she prepared for a long day of photos and an even longer night of dancing. The salon was especially thoughtful as we had three out of town guests unexpectedly decide to get their hair done, and they were made welcome an given time by the stylists (time that the stylists did not have). Because of the 3 unexpected hair styles we were running behind on time and the head stylist offered to drive the remaining 3 back to the Starved Rock Lodge allowing the bride to leave early and begin getting ready. As a spa girl myself, I demand glamourous treatment and the salon went above and beyond to impress. The cups of warm tea and shortbread cookies accompanied by elegant classic decor and a friendly ambiance only enhanced the wedding day. THANK YOU LUSCIOUS MOI FOR AN UN-FORGETTTABLE EXPERIENCE! PS.
