I've only been to a Lush store a handful of times, but this one was by far the best location I've stopped in at. An individual (female) greeted my friend and I and asked if we needed anything. She was super friendly and talked briefly about some of the products within the store. I learned that Lush is a cosmetic store that does not animal test, is fresh/natural, handmade and vegetarian. Depending on what you purchase, it can be a bit pricey. However, that's with all stores (Lush) that I've been into. With everything being fresh and natural, of course the price is going to be a bit more than Walmart for example. read more

Very nice. The different smells were so enticing. We went in the store to simply browse while we waited for our restaurant seat. I decided I was tired of bath and body and wanted something to answer my animal testing extinct curiosity. So I was looking to see what all that meant. Along comes Zach, an awesome person all around. From the way he greeted us and explained that we needed to use the complimentary soap provided to wash our hands before we shopped. As we browsed he explained the benefits of the various soaps. He answered questions but did not overpower us. He was pleasant and very friendly. Spur of the moment I decided Zach was right, pamper myself...I bought two items for myself and surprised my 27 year old son with a Lush gift as well The young lady who checked us out was not as friendly, but along comes Zach again to enhance our experience, he gave us additional samples. I LOVE LUSH!!!! This is a great LUSH boutique and the sales associates are always so sweet and helpful. I could spend all day in there sampling their lotions and potions. Today I stopped in for a few floating islands - my favorite LUSH bath oil melt - and one of the employees asked if I wanted to try any of their products. She gave me several samples to take home. The only drawback to a LUSH shopping trip for me is that I always go in intending to pick up one or two items, and leave with a bag full of goodies. Also, the shop is located in a really fun area. You can have a great lunch at any of the nearby restaurants and there are lots of other retail shops. read more

I noticed it right away...my sweetie didn't but he circled blocks and potholes (major potholes!) to park for me and go in. This Lush is huge and has everything a Lush addict wants/needs. Everywhere you look there are product demos and sampling stations. I knew what I wanted already, but if you're new to Lush you're definitely in good hands with the employees here. The sweet gal that helped me (and I'm kicking myself for forgetting her name but I think she had an orange hat on?) was so thoughtful and asked me about the personalities of each student worker. So I gave them a description that they're both in graduate school, one has classic tastes and the other one definitely needs something to relieve stress! She helped me pick the perfect gifts that came in the same size boxes and beautiful wrapping! The girls both loved their gifts and (one was the lavender set which btw all of my girlfriends loved when I gave it to them last Christmas!). Meanwhile, I really love the heart shaped moisturizing bar that gives you a little glitter. I rub that thing on everyday bc every girl needs a little glitter in her life! Hehe This is a great store for finding presents for others as well as yourself! And they are very thoughtful and purposeful in helping you find exactly what you need! Note: avoid this store if you're feeling particularly anti social on any given day. I'm not the first one to say it and I won't be the last. These ladies are just doing their jobs but I wish they weren't so darn "good" at it. Note to Lush corporate: can you let these chicks breathe a bit? Who can be this bubbly all the time (avoiding the obvious product pun here)? It doesn't feel authentic. And sometimes I feel guilty for not being up to par on the enthusiasm levels. Sometimes I fear I'm downright surly. This is all to say... I stress out before coming in most Lush stores and this one is no exception. I kind of like to be left alone when I'm shopping and sniffing and reading and that is just NEVER going to happen here. Accept it and move on, I guess. I love Lush products long time. Almost twenty years, in fact. I remember that first Lush shop I came upon on Kings Road in London (rather, I smelled it first. Heavenly!) I was hooked ever since (and I used to mail order their products from Canada before they finally opened in the US). Most recently, I tried a couple new (to me) hair products and adore them (Big shampoo and Happy Happy Joy Joy *shut up*) And now, my hair smells like fresh orange blossoms. Their shower gels are my absolute favorite. When I'm in need of a little something something extra, I get one of the Shower Smoothies (the creamed almond and coconut definitely smells good enough to eat. OK so I tasted it once. Don't judge. I know I'm not the only one). There are some product misses, don't get me wrong. The Angels on Bare Skin face mask, for example. It feels like barely moistened sandpaper. Thankfully I tried the sample before buying. Don't get me started on their henna (such a disgusting mess that I threw it out but when is henna NOT a disgusting mess?) One of the first Yelp reviews I ever wrote received my most "funny" votes (or at one point, it did. I might have been funnier since), so I suggest you search my reviews and find it if you want to see me at my best. Or don't. The reality is, I love Lush. Their products are top notch, innovative, usually have catchy names, smell great and the list goes on. They are environmentally conscious. They are vegan conscious (for 20 years, so not due to any recent trend). I even may have developed a crush on the people who are pictured on the package because they are responsible for making up my fix. I just wish I didn't have to get therapy in order to feel comfortable about walking in a Lush store. read more

I've been coming to this specific location for about 3 years now. A few months ago I came in looking for a specific Perfume "Turmeric Latte". An associate by the name of Jazz helped me and recommended another Perfume since they were out of the perfume I was looking for. I came in last week and Jazz remembered me and that I loved the Turmeric Latte Perfume. She told me it was coming back with the Christmas collection and would be in on Thursday (Today, 9.21). She confirmed with her manager and suggested I come back. I came in and sure enough Jazz greeted me and knew what I was looking for. She pulled out the perfume from the shipping box as they were just receiving there new collection. I had to give her a 5 out of 5 review. She is very thoughtful and took the time to recommend a great alternative. The fact that she can remember customers faces and products of interest through brief interactions is a breath of fresh air. LUSH is the absolute best place on earth to get skin and bath products. Everything here is fresh, free of harmful chemicals, vegetarian & totally against animal testing. From their bath bombs to their super friendly, helpful staff, this place is on point. My favorites i usually get, being a guy, bath bomb- wise, i go with "Big Blue". It smells very clean, has an oceany vibe to it, & even has seaweed particles in it. Soap-wise i dig "Honey i washed the kids" and body wash, "its raining men", which are both similar in smell which is of milk and...yep, honey. And now my ultimate, number one favorite thing here is the shampoo bar known as Copperhead. It gives off a nice smokey, earthy, coffee aroma. Shines the hell out of your hair! So if you're looking for some great skin and bath products this is a place you shouldn't miss. You'll find yourself like me, spending hours smelling every single thing, that i should mention, is hands on. They even give you free samples of anything in the store to take home and give a try. My most recent visit here, I was on a mission. I had 5 empty black product jars, and once you have 5, you can bring them in for exchange and get a free face mask! Well, the amount in the container is enough for several masks, so that's cool. Parking is along Magazine Street, or on one of the many side streets. This location is larger than the French Quarter location. There is plenty of room to wander around, and there is no crowding of product on the shelves. I came in first thing on a Saturday morning and was quickly helped. The guys working were so friendly! I had been patiently waiting for this Lush location to open when I came across Emily M.'s review! I am so excited that there is a Lush uptown! This place is on point in every way possible. The good smells hit you as soon as you walk in the door and all of the bath goodies are out on display so that you can pick them up and smell them. The employees here are extremely attentive and eager to help. I stopped in on a weekday afternoon, and since I was the only customer in the store, all eyes were on me. The first employee told me all about their newest bath bombs and bubble bars and explained what was in some of them as I sniffed around. I headed over to the soap and exfoliation section and an employee was super nice about demonstrating an exfoliant, toner and moisturizer, that was made with all natural ingredients, including violet buds, on my hand . I wasn't really in the market for that type of stuff on this particular day, but I LOVED the products she demonstrated and I will be back to get some of it soon. Along with bath and shower goodies, Lush sells all kinds of different makeup that is meant to be gentle on your skin and that is basically a dream come true. I decided to get a few of the smaller bath bombs, but I know that I will definitely be back for much more soon. The store itself is HUGE and has everything that you could ever want as far as beauty goes- they even have shampoo and conditioner, if you are looking for something gentle to put on your hair. I've frequented this location since it's opened. My One stop shop for all of my at home relaxation needs, and skincare. I remember my first time like yesterday. I was overwhelmed by the sights and smells. I didn't know what I would need or what to get. Slowly, I started to get a feel for the store and their product lines that are always up par with my needs. I love how after all this time I can still walk in and be amazed that there's something new for me to try. I even went in during COVID and cold face mask are back in display. A product junkie's dream!!!!! After lunch we headed across the street to Lush Cosmetics and let's just say I was in love from the moment I walked in. If your bathroom cabinet looks anything like mine...then you went crazy and brought up the place. The store is huge! Tons of helpful employees around to explain all the organic ingredients in each product. I honestly had never heard of Lush until my friend continued to rave about this shea butter lotion bar she brought...and suggested we had to check it out. I mean its walls and walls of lotions, scrubs, eye shadows, face washes and exfoliants, bath bombs galore. And to sweeten the deal its all organic. I settled on the charcoal face scrub, toner and moisturizer...because this New Orleans weather won't let me not be a greasy mess. Keeva did a demonstration with the products on one of my hands and I was sold after she rinsed off the charcoal scrub. It literally pulled all the impurities out of my hand and left it silky smooth. Once she followed up with the peppermint toner and the light moisturizer...I was halfway to the counter checking out. It works amazingly well. And this is a exfoliant you can use EVERYDAY. Not too harsh at all. the toner doesn't have harmful alcohols in it and the moisturizer is light...basically glides on your skin. They even gave me a free sample size mash for my purchase. We were so excited to hear that there was one so close to our new home and taking my daughter to pick out bath bombs was one of the first things we did when we moved to the Nola area. Unfortunately we left very disappointed. It was very obvious that most of the bombs were old or stale. Many of them didn't even have any scent to them anymore and were dried out and chalky. We managed to pick out the best of the bunch and took them home with us. Over the course of the week, I noticed that they no longer had any fragrance either.
