I am…read morehere visiting my father and was looking for a church close to his home and to my delight I came across Saguaro Canyon Evangelical Free church! My friend & I felt very welcomed! The head pastor made a point of introducing himself to us. One of the parishioners went out of her way to make us feel so comfortable and welcomed! The music was amazing! I am a little old school in the way that I love contemporary Christian music but I wish that at least one of the classic hymns would be incorporated into the music ministry. I am not singling out this church. I have suggested that my home church in Texas would do the same. The message preached was on point, articulate & I love the Old Testament! If I lived here, this would most DEFINITELY be my home church! I would highly recommend this Saguaro Canyon First Evangelical Free Church if you want to feed your soul & fill your heart with the powerful Word of God! On a side note, I read the previous review from 3 months ago regarding wearing masks and her 2 star, negative review is non sensical at best. Currently, we are no longer in a pandemic. I encourage everyone to do their own research regarding masks & the transmission of the Covid virus. Her sermons are always positive and convey a message without leaving you feeling guilty about it. We went to Pastor Kate for our premartial counseling and I couldn't have been happier with her. We did interview several churches to make sure we got along well with the Priest/Pastor to make sure we felt comfortable doing counseling with them and I will say I think Pastor Kate could make anyone feel at home. The church is beautiful and they have a great multipurpose room across the patio which hosts "Lutherans Linger Longer" a social gathering after each mass. Great food is always brought by the hosts and the parishioners are all quite social and open to meeting new friends.

Pastor David, a master at telling bad jokes, helps me understand the lesson and Gospel reading more deeply. I like that essentially every sermon includes a reminder of my baptism. During communion, as Pastor breaks the bread and says, "it's broken for you" I feel a connection to Christ like no other time. I like how involved the kids are in the worship service. "We are a living church", Pastor says, and he welcomes the noise that kid's inevitably make. During the service, kids are invited to "Children's Corner" held in a nearby room where they have an age appropriate lesson, a fun activity, and have a simple snack. In Children's Corner, the kids write their own prayers and these are read as part of the service along with all the prayers of the congregation. Kids also collect the "Noisy Offering" every 4th Sunday, collecting loose coins from the congregation with the money going to individuals needing assistance. I can't imagine a more a fun loving and caring congregation!

The church and sanctuary are beautiful. Monsignor Tom, Father Jorge or anyone in the office, it doesn't matter: they always have a ready smile and a handshake or a hug. There's all sorts of classes or programs going on. There's several different masses available that cater to different tastes: contemporary, teen, traditional, Spanish. Daily mass. They just installed a projector system so each mass can show the hymns and readings on a big screen to encourage more participation. We really love it here. It's the first time I've felt at home in a church of any religion in a very long time. And I've tried lots of places and religions.

My 8th grade teacher was horrible it was a horrible last year of middle school he did not on ow how to teach math or science and he didn't even teach us science all he did was just sit there on his computer not reviewing anything or writing notes down math I was so lost and didn't even learn anything it was so confusing his tutoring didn't even help me at all it made me even feel stupid. His behavior was worse first he sent a student to the office for smiling then got into a students face and told him to shut up and sent a girl to the office for no reason either and she even told him to stand back and to not get into her face he was so infuriated but I thought to myself who the hell is this person telling us we are bad kids he even said that and that apparently our past teachers failed us. His behavior kept getting worse as he kept assigning quizzes and tests unexpectedly our only option was to cheat on the tests he did not even review anything at the end of the year he literally tried teaching us slopes keep in mind it was like almost the last day of school for us. The principal was from st Ambrose and she was not a good principal because she did not even do anything about this situation probably cause we were already gonna graduate it wasn't convenient for her. Our teacher even brought up that ice was doing their jobs and that immigrants are criminals coming from him we all were so offended as many of us have parents of Hispanic culture. The way he brought that up was so inappropriate and the principal didn't even do anything he was just given a warning. He even brought up disgusting things that made us feel uncomfortable and we told him to stop but he kept going he was not a good teacher he still teaches there watch, the principal will realize soon enough keeping him there at our mother of sorrows was a mistake because students will report things he does.
