As a recent Tucson Transplant, the Tucson J has become one of the most meaningful places in our…read morefamily's life. As a parent and grateful community member, I continue to be impressed by the care, professionalism, and heart that make this place so special. Our experience with the Early Childhood Education program for the past three years has been outstanding. As a parent, the most important thing is trust, and we have real trust in the teachers and leaders. The staff know the children, care about their growth, communicate with families, and create a warm, nurturing environment where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to come each day. The care is high-quality, thoughtful, robust, and flexible, which matters so much for working families and families with different needs. I also deeply appreciate the J's broader commitment to inclusion, especially its programming for individuals with disabilities and families who benefit from extra support. That is one of the things that makes the J feel like more than a gym, preschool, camp, or community center. It is a place that works hard to create belonging. The facilities are excellent and very well maintained. The campus is especially fun in the summer, with the pool, splash pad, camp programming, sports fields, tennis courts, fitness center, classrooms, art spaces, and community gathering areas all working together. It feels like a true community campus where people of all ages can learn, play, connect, and feel welcome. No organization is perfect, but I have a lot of confidence in the people leading the J and in the direction of the community. For families looking for early childhood education, summer camp, fitness, aquatics, arts, inclusion programming, or simply a welcoming place to belong in Tucson, I highly recommend the Tucson J.

When snowbirds are here you can't really get into classes ( most are great) unless you set alarms for yourself and sign up a couple of days ahead. The place skews older and I although there are high school kids there in the afternoons it's not age diverse. Plus side is it's very forgiving and a great place to start weight lifting and more. There are paid programs for that and I think that would be worth it. I belong to a few other places so it's not a problem. I really like yin yoga there and trx . If this is going to be your main place you will be frustrated.

Brichta is definitely more of a pre-school then daycare. It's at an actual former elementary…read moreschool, so you don't get the yucky daycare smell as you walk in. However, outside the superficial, Britcha is anything but. The teachers in each classroom are very well supported. Each usually has one or two class aids. Additionally, students from the UA come to get some of their teaching hours there. They have a very welcoming environment and refer to children in gender neutral terms as "friends." They also have referrals for AZEip if your child needs it. This is NOT a money run business like you find at places like Adventure time with inconsistent staff. They even have rates for government employees. It took us 3 years to find the best place for our kiddo. Don't pass up Brichta without checking it out first. It is truly a west side gem. In addition to their regular curriculum they also offer enrichment class! During the day!!! While your little is already at school! Music! Sign Language! Spanish! Soccer! These are taught by actual instructors and coaches.

For the last 2.5 years, our son has attended Brichta and has been shown the utmost love and attention by all teachers and staff. Brichta is an exceptionally well run learning center focused on nurturing the growth and development of students while also promoting the health, wellbeing and safety of both students and staff. We love our Brichta family and encourage all parents to consider them when looking for childcare!

We were also seeking a facility that could provide care to our school age kiddo during breaks and summer and that was centrally located. With so many requirements, it seemed we'd never find the right place and kept our kids in the same old place they'd been for three years. From the moment I called and spoke with Gabby and Anna, I was impressed; they were friendly and upbeat. The tour was great and I loved what I saw! When our kiddo arrived for his first day, he loved what he saw in the classroom and playground. His teacher, Ms. Destiny was warm and inviting and welcomed Mikey right away. We met Ms. Jessica in the hall also and she knew just how to talk to Mikey to help him warm up. I couldn't have been more impressed with this school! Mikey has had painless drop-offs every day and I credit Ms. Destiny's genuine care and love of children. Mikey tells us daily about the many fun activities he does which include weekly visits from Mr. Ray and Ms. K who sing and read with the class. Mikey is also extremely excited to show us all he is learning academically. Thank you to all of the staff and the owners who make this wonderful childcare available in our community. This center should stand as a model for all centers--it is really that good (and very affordable--it even includes fresh food for snacks and meals)!!!
