The owner was absolutely amazing--so warm, welcoming, and full of great energy. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were in great hands. We're from Houston and this was our last night in San Antonio, and let me tell you... what a beautiful way to end our trip! We did this activity on a Monday evening and it was so fun, relaxing, and memorable. The owner treated us like pros and made the whole experience feel personal and enjoyable. We couldn't stop smiling and laughing the whole time. We will definitely be telling everyone about it! This is a school/store that works with glass cutting, stained glass making, and kilning flat glass works. They sell all the glass and glass supplies. They even have books and newsletters where you can copy someone's design. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They took us around and showed us all the workshops, kilns, and supplies that they offer. We were stunned to see the colorful displays of the students' works shining in the windows. The staff is so friendly, and obviously passionate about their art! They're happy to help and answer any questions. It's a wonderful community resource! I can't wait to take a class here!

We took the Introduction to Stained Glass class. It was a small class, about 7 or 8 to a class. Seating can be limited per class so I suggest you sign up sooner rather than later for your desired craft. They provided all the equipment for the workshop. The only thing is you pay extra (outside of the initial class cost) for the glass pieces. We had 2 selections and I think it was either $12 and $15 each. This is a great beginners class that will help you get comfortable using the hot equipment and give you some knowledge on the Tiffany foil method. Our instructor was the owner and she was very patient and encouraging. They have been running this family business since 2001. They are passionate and have a lot of classes and equipment to offer. I know during Christmas time you can create a glass blown ornament. They offer a lot of classes for stained glass, fused glass, mosaics, and glass painting. Great place if you want to relax, hang out, and create!

As far as I know, it is the only place in San Antonio , outside of the Universities and colleges , that consistently offers open drawing sessions in a professional studio, using live figure models. It even has open session for portraits on Friday mornings, using live models. Additionally it offers adult classes in oil painting, for beginners, intermediate, and more advanced painters. It has classes for children through its "Coppini Kids" program, and a "master class" in drawing for kids 11 - 17. As if this isn't enough, it offers workshops for members and the public, taught by popular and world-class artists who come in from across the country. If an artist is focused on representational art, the Coppini is a great place to investigate!
