Marina offers online scheduling and she really does book out at least a month in advance. You can, however, find last minute appointments if you really stalk her online scheduling site. I see Marina for a brazilian, inner thigh, and eyebrow wax. Not only is Marina meticulous and thorough but she is FAST. Like, less than 20 minutes and your brazilian is finito! She makes an ordinarily painful process absolute painless. Going to see Marina is like going to hang out with a girlfriend who just happens to be a master at waxing. I tried to make an appointment online but had some technical issue so I called instead. This was all done the morning of, and yet they were able to have me come in later that afternoon. It's a clean, small space but it's got everything you can imagine. There's plenty of parking in front of the salon. Tiffany was my stylist, and I was warned that she was going to charge more than the other stylists due to her experience (note -- all stylists charge differently based on this). As a Californian who has paid way too much for the simplest of cuts, I can genuinely say Tiffany's surcharge was 1000% worth it. She was so kind and personable, and that really made the experience. She gave me her honest thoughts and was very communicative throughout the process. She really gave me the exact hairstyle I asked for after barely flashing her a photo, and I'm so endlessly impressed! Despite constantly cycling through short hair, I've actually never liked myself in it very much. However, Tiffany's work allowed me to feel more confident in rocking a short cut than I've ever felt! They double checked with me multiple times throughout the service whether it was cut or color. The salon is neat and tidy. They have an easy way to schedule appointments online so you don't have the hassle of calling people. Iv never been so uncomfortable getting my nails done. I had an appointment with the nail tech that did my nails a couple weeks ago. After I checked in and sat down I was basically told she wasn't available but that was alright with me I was happy to see someone else. Unfortunately the nail tech I was paired with made me extremely uncomfortable the moment she walked over to the owner with my phone showing the design I wanted. I could see the owner (I'm assuming is still Selena) encouraging her nodding and speaking. I told the nail tech I was now paired with that I wanted a French tip with a gold line down the middle instead of the picture showing a slight different variation (also wanting to reassure her that I didn't need anything complicated because I don't like feeling like someone doesn't want to do my nails) Long story short I could tell this nail tech was not confident in herself and although there is a language barrier I could 100% feel the energy and tone when she spoke to others around her. It was so constant and was obvious because she'd ask me a question about the nails, I would respond, then she'd start talking to them and they would laugh as she'd keep talking. I don't know if it was because the owner disregarded her concerns at the beginning and she was complaining to the others the whole time but whatever it was I should not had to have gone through that. I ended up just telling her to not even continue because I just wanted to leave. The last nail tech looked at my inspo pic, grabbed the polish that matched, and my experience was so so good but this time I left with an ugly set of nails and 65 dollars less. *Selena did ask if I wanted her to do them which was kind but they were busy, the other nail tech was standing up at the front the whole time and I was on the verge of tears. I will most likely go back but will make sure I am firm when getting paired if my nail techs not available. Im talking essential oil diffuser, low chandelier lights, candles for sale, fun couches, with a maximalist-esque decor vibe, and even a little library! Second, I came in to get a bad color fixed from another salon and believe me when I say that she went above and beyond. I didn't expect much since it was in pretty bad shape coming in, but she blended it so well and did exactly what I wanted. Going back to the relaxing environment, at the shampoo bowl, I nodded off THREE times because I was so relaxed. THREE TIMES! That's never happened with uncomfortable shampoo bowls being at odd angles, but the bowl was what all shampoo bowls everywhere need to be! It's by appointment only so you'll want to book in advance if you want to get in. After I booked, I went to look for another time and she was already booked a month out. (Not surprising!!)
