Tremendous with communication from day 1. We asked for specific tile and design and Stein was very accommodating. The workmen that came to do the tile work were fastidious and hard working. Everyone was on time every day and they became part of the family. We were able to look at the work each evening to make sure it met our specifications. There were a lot of people in and out of the house so that can be daunting, but plumber, electric and stucco were all coordinated by Stein masterfully. We got a text each morning with the plan for the day and time of arrival-this was very helpful since my husband and I both work from home and work around various meetings. Even when there was a slight issue with the vanities, Stein made sure it was corrected and retouched. In fact, every time we asked for an adjustment, Stein made it happen. We would highly recommend Nordic Improvements for your bath or kitchen projects. After a very detailed and labor intensive project, we are SO happy with our bathroom.

After filing a claim with my insurance (USAA), they sent out Nordic Improvements to my house to do the job. They came out to do an estimate, and told me that they could start work the very next day. I was a bit panicked, because that would mean giving them my house key, letting them be in my house unsupervised, etc, but I didn't really have a choice in the matter if I wanted a non-collapsible ceiling. The next day they sent one guy to start working. In one day he had removed the bad drywall, replaced the insulation and put up new drywall and mudded it. The next day he came back and 4-5 hours later, had textured and painted the entire ceiling to match the original color. There is absolutely no discernible difference between where the old drywall ends and the replacement begins. It looks great! He even left 3/4 of a gallon of paint for me for future touch ups. They were very professional, very nice and very fast. Not that I had much of a choice in picking them, but I would recommend them to others.

At first glance, I was very happy with the inspection report I received. The information in the…read morereport was thorough, and Tim did a good job of identifying a number of small but potentially serious issues with the home during the purchase process. However, the inspection missed an active leak which was slowly rotting out drywall and spreading beneath hardwood flooring. I initially gave the benefit of the doubt to the inspector as the main point of activity was occurring behind an entertainment center which was not moved for the inspection; but, upon further analysis there was significant signs of active moisture below much of the floor and exposed drywall was soft to the touch when pressed. The homeowners disclosed a previous "roof" leak and expressed there was minor damage to the floors. This turned out to be inaccurate and should have been caught during the inspection process. The damage was clearly visible and the result has been over $15,000 of repairs (as there was active mold behind the walls, all floors needed to be replaced, etc.). Also, the cause of the leak was the fact the previous homeowner glued tile directly to standard drywall, without waterproofing, installing a shower pan, etc. While there is no way to have known what the "guts" of the shower looked like, it would have been as simple as knocking your knuckles on the shower tile to know there was not Hardie Backer/concrete board behind the tile (especially since some of the grout in the shower was appeared to be falling apart). While it's great to know one of the top cinder blocks on our fence is loose and could potentially be a hazard to anyone standing beneath it, I would much rather have known the "previous water damage" as was disclosed in the sellers disclosure statements was actually an active leak.

I have a general mistrust in big businesses and salesmen who unnecessarily upsell you or recommend replacing serviceable components to take advantage of their non-expert customers and pad profits. Zero Fox was the only business who seemed to actually read the diagnostic information I had collected and reported while working on the system myself. Emilio listened to me and thoroughly investigated our system and components. before recommending action. He clearly and patiently explained what he was seeing and how he thought things would play out in the long term with and without intervention. It was clear that he understood the system components and how they function together holistically. It was also clear he was really trying to work with us toward an ideal long-term solution and not just take our money. As I suspected, the motor unit was at the end of its life. We scheduled time for Emilio to come back the next day and install a new one. He had not yet taken any payment, but when he left that day he had already tuned up our door significantly so that it was opening and closing more smoothly (I had been manually opening it for a few days after the motor unit began failing). He made sure that the door, hinges, rollers, tracks, and spring were clean and functioning better so they wouldn't put unnecessary strain and wear on the new motor.
