When looking at the finished prodcut, the paint that was used was completely different than what we requested. Steven used Eggshell instead of flat which made the rooms look patchy and the overall look looks very unprofessional. Also, when speaking to him about the paint type he used, he refused to fix it and he used racist remarks "Your kind want everything for free" knowing that we've fully paid for the services we agreed on. We will not be using this vendor again.

I'll start by saying that I'm not a stranger to hiring a pro. I'm well aware that most of them want…read moreto meet in person to see the scope of the job before they give an estimate. I've got a rather complicated project regarding logistics and timing (not skill once work can begin) that has made things difficult. When I first contacted this guy, we set up a date to meet and discuss the project. He no-showed. No phone call or anything. Eventually we met and he explained the lack of communication on his end. I get it. Things happen. Because of other cogs in this wheel, I wasn't able to get him to do the work right away. Now that I'm nearing the point where I can bring in a pro, I contacted him again. I needed cabinets painted and likely a back splash installed. He asked for pictures and a description of what needed to be done. I sent him the pictures and description through Yelp. I was rather surprised when he said that he didn't need an appointment to get me a quote but I thought I'd go with it because I just needed a VERY rough range to facilitate planning. A range of $5000 would've been acceptable. Instead I got told I have "major issues" and he felt "sorry for the poor sap that I hire". Screen shots of the conversation are attached so judge for yourself what kind of person this is. First he no-showed and then insulted me for asking questions. Granted, after reading through our conversation I did see that he asked me to call him and I didn't because I skimmed over that part. My apologies. If he had just asked me again to call him I would've done so.

I learned that the last people only put pads on one side of the house which explains why my doors never shut properly and the floors weren't straight. Therefore, I tend to use the online contact forms on a company's website. If they respond in a timely manner, that shows me that they want my business. When using the contact form on the website for DIGN Homes about my need for roof repair after a storm, I never heard a peep from the company. No phone call, text or email. However, (and this may just be a coincidence), the next morning at 9:20am someone is ringing my doorbell as I am sleeping. I have signs at both my doors stating I am a night shift worker. Do not disturb. I live in a gated community so no strangers should be able to get in and ring the bell. I get up thinking a neighbor needs help. Instead I see a carpet cleaning van in front of my home. Did DIGN Homes send a carpet cleaner unannounced in response to a roofing job??? Either way there was no communication from this company after I submitted my inquiry online. Don't set up an online form if you're not going to use it.

Youssef and all of his subs are *FANTASTIC* and the best I have ever worked with (and I've worked…read morewith many). Here why (with details below): He OWNS the work and takes full responsibility for everything and fixes every mishap BEFORE you even ask; His primary subs (carpentry, electrical, flooring, trim) are all GREAT; he's one of the easiest, kindest, and most compassionate people I've worked with; and he knew when to tell me when an idea or suggestion I had was infeasible or too expensive. More deets: On OWNERSHIP and RESPONSIBILITY - Our shower glass walls were a little short. I didn't even know enough to know this was a solvable problem, but he made the third-party glass company take the segments back and replace them with segments that fit even more perfectly and beautifully. There we a couple of other instance and there was never accountability squirm.... Honestly that's unlike 95% of contractors. ADVICE - If the lighting wasn't going to work or look nice, he told you. If the switches we're in the wrong place in the blueprint, he told you. If a door or opening would have been better served with a pocket door instead of a swinging door, like into a bedroom closet, he told you. He told you nicely, politely, never insinuating that I did not know what I was doing or that the architect was bad or wrong. He'd just politely and slowly walk me through a few different scenarios and the real life placement of things and was 100% right in all of his corrective suggestions. The one time I did not listen to him and thought I knew better, after a few months I realized I was completely wrong. MAIN SUBS - Whenever his subs were scheduled to show up, they did, on time, always clean-cut and professional, smiling, and happy. They cleaned up EVERY DAY. Other previous contractors thought nothing of leaving trash on the floor or even dangerous nails when I had small children in the house. I think he is one of, if not, the BEST IN THE BUSINESS and I plan on doing more with him in the future.
