I've missed seeing movies on the big screen, and this neighborhood gem of a theater reminded me why I love the movies. It's a bit of a throwback with a box office right out front, a large concessions stand, lots of arcade games and eight screens. This was the only place around that was playing a movie my friend and I really wanted to see, and I'm so glad we made the trip. I go into a rated r movie this weekend and stood in line to get tickets with no one inside the ticket counter to sell tickets. I usually buy online but their site was down so I approached a very nervous employee who was extremely busy taking food orders. I asked her to see if someone could go up to the front cashiers booth and sell tickets. (10 minutes later )I couldn't believe they actually let children in the theatre (R-rated movie) with their parents plus there was a young couple with an infant next to me! The child cried at times and was disruptive during the entire movie only to be comforted in the dark with loud sounds. read more

We love this theater. It's not fancy in the least. The seats are comfy and recline. The prices are perfect. Tuesday is $6 movies ALL DAY....all movies. We just saw Wicked for under $20 for two people and popcorn. The bathrooms are clean enough but some of the stalls have zip ties locking the doors oddly. Bring a blanket because the theaters are cold. Bring a fan because sometimes the AC doesn't work! But If you want a no frills theater this is the place to go. read more

Upon arriving at the parking lot, we were initially concerned about the neighborhood's appearance. However, our worries quickly dissipated once we entered the phenomenal theater. The matinee tickets were reasonably priced at $11, and unlike other venues, the food was equally affordable. We also loved the reclining seats and will definitely revisit. read more

Don't let the outside of this theater fool you, it's a great theater inside. The seats recline and they are rather comfy. The theaters are rather large and spacious as well. I went to a weekend opening of a marvel movie and while it was busy, it wasn't too crowded. Before heading into the theater we did stop for some popcorn and soda. Much to our surprise, there was no popcorn made and we had to wait for some to pop. Which thankfully, we were a little early for the movie so we had time. read more

On the West Coast of Florida for the weekend, we needed a movie theater to see Deadpool 2 and we ended up at the Edison. I believe the Edison has been recently remodeled. There are reclining seats The seats, however, are not electronic recliners like I have experienced in other movie theaters. These recliners open up manually and are not nearly as comfortable as the electric ones. To the delight of my kids, the front of the theater had a game room which kelp then entertained until the movie started. I did not see until after we left that you could get s free popcorn with Yelp check in so do not miss it! The staff was very friendly and helpful. My son left a bag in the game room and a staff member had put it in the lost & found. Whew! Lucky again! So nice to be able to support a local theater and enjoy the experience! read more

Decent set up... you can put your legs up using the leg lift in the chairs, but it's difficult to close. Prices aren't too bad. The cinemas are accommodating for those in a wheelchair. Overall, not too bad read more

Went to see a movie on 02/16/2024. There was a rat running around inside the theater. My husband went to tell the staff. A staff member entered the theater and walked down and back up the aisle and then left without saying anything. The second the lights turned out all I could think about was that rat.... read more

If your on a budget this is the place for you. If your in the gulf coast trying to watch a movie, this is not the place for you. The movie theater is low quality, smells bad, and there was no toilet paper in the bathrooms. I'll just leave my review there. read more

Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon when I had a few hours to kill. $7 matinee! Courteous employees. Not sure why we can only go in the theater 10 minutes prior to start time. Apparently they changed ownership recently and every single theater had seats and sound upgrade. The trailers didn't start playing for well over 20 minutes after they were supposed to start. Other than that it's fine. Ended up watching a comedy and since there were only 3 people total, including me, I laughed the entire movie. Check in and get a free popcorn! read more

What a cute little theater with nice seats!! My kiddo and I went to a random afternoon showing of a movie and we were the only ones there. My son probably had us walking to the concession about 4-5 times total from getting out tickets to rando times during the movie when he decided I needed a blue slushee too. Seats are nice, popcorn is good but over salted. I would give 4 or 5 stars if their management would have responded to any of my three emails sent to them. On July 2, 2022 my elderly mother fell in their theater and got banged up, luckily nothing serious. The movie was over, credits were rolling. Unlike every other theater Luxe 8 Flix doesn't put on low lights so people can see to leave during the credits. Therefore, my mother did not see the strangely uneven floor between the seats and the handicapped area in theater number 4. She rolled her ankle and fell on the concrete. I sent three emails to the theater advising them of the situation. I explained that even one of their workers offered bandages to my mother as she was cleaning up her bloody arm in the restroom. I asked that they turn on low lights during the credits or do something to make the floor more even in that area for peoples safety. But I got no response whatsoever, no apologies, no concern for my mother, nothing. Clearly management doesn't care about their patrons or that someone got hurt on their property. read more

Remodeled and new recliners are great. Will be coming back here more often now that they've updated the seating. It appears that they've also upgraded their sound system. Movies come alive with sound so I appreciate that. Always good service and they make the popcorn fresh if you ask. Very nice. Thank you. read more

This is kind of a hidden gem I think in Fort Myers. It is in a strip mall and doesn't look like much but the theater seats are incredible! Full recline and spacious. Best popcorn if any theater and price is lower too! We will be back for sure!! read more

In its current state it is a small theater without all the bells and whistles...no frills just new releases and movie food at very good prices. When was the last time you got 2 drinks and a large popcorn for $9? The seats are small and basic but there are enough to go around. The facility is well kept and everyone working was pleasant. There are a handful of arcade games in the lobby area, if you should feel the need to play a game just before or after your movie. Ever since we went to the theater in Weeki Watchee where they have lounger seats, we have been reluctant to go to a typical theater with regular seating. We saw an ad for Luxe 8 on Winkler that said they have comfortable seats, so we went to see "Maverick" during a matinee. Kids were back in school, it was off season and it was a weekday, so the two of us had the whole theater to ourselves. It was Senior Tuesday, so we got a complimentary bag of delicious popcorn. The two young attendants were super nice and helpful (one carried our popcorn since I was wheeling my husband in a transport chair). The chairs didn't quite lay flat, but the leg part goes up. The armrests are wide enough for two elbows. Plus, parking was close by. At the $6 senior price, it was more than worth it! The regular price is $12. On a hot (or rainy) summer day, where else would you want to spend a couple of hours? read more

To be honest i like coming here for my movies after they changed their seats into recliners. The ticket prizing is pretty decent! But I went on the day Avengers came out, bought my tickets online with reserved seats but, when we showed up for our showtime there was people in our seats & we were forced to move all the way to the front. Sitting so close gives me a migraine. Very unorganized & disappointing to walk in & not be able to sit in the seats that i reserved! Whats the point of reserved seating if we couldn't sit in them. & on top of that just know they do not refund your money back even if you try to before the movie starts. So I suggest really think about before going here for your movies. read more

This place is okay. Feels kinda dirty and the seating is weird so your neck is broke the whole time. They do have reclining seats which helps but the foot test is hard and not very comfortable. I wouldn't say it's the worst movie theater but I would choose bell tower over if for sure read more

I could see this being a hang out for teens as it is cheap ($6 before 5:30pm) but don't really see it lasting in the long run if they don't change some things. This was my first time here and might be my last. I am getting too old (in my 30s lol) and I am willing to pay $3-4 more and drive further for comfy seats. My fiancé and I laughed many times as we kept moving throughout the 1.5hr movie trying to get comfortable. It was ridiculous. They remind me of those old school desks with attached chairs that don't move or fit every body type. The seats don't recline, have minimal cushion and the armrest is permanently down. How am I suppose to utilize the next seat to stretch my legs out if the armrest will not go up!? And to add to the torture, my fiancé and I were the only ones in the theatre watching our movie. We had plenty of seats to choose from but it didn't matter where we sat, our backs were killing us when we left. I can't imagine anyone who is "overweight" being able to sit in these chairs comfortably...and imagine the horror of having to sit thru a 2hr movie! Also, our movie did not start on time. In fact, we had to go outside and remind them we were sitting there waiting for the movie to play. We waited 10 minutes after start time (by then it was awkward and creepy), and when we went up to the concession stand, there was also another customer who said their movie had not started either :( I would really give this place a score of 2, mainly due to the uncomfy seats, but the staff were friendly. read more

Going to its competitor tonight forced me to come to them to write a much due review. I had such a horrible experience at the big 20 that it reminded me how wonderful this theater is. The price of tickets takes you back 10 years, when you and someone else could watch a movie and get snacks for under 20 bucks. great prices, new releases. the 5 times i've been there the place was very clean, bathrooms well stocked and clean. The staff is excellent. the seats are a little dated, but nothing to complain about. With the mall right next door this place is a wonderful way to end a day shopping. looking forward to my next movie date :) read more

Never going back! Missed the beginning of the movie because you can't JUST BUY TICKETS at the ticket desk, you have to wait in line at the concession stand.....behind everyone trying to figure out what they want to eat! Then you have to wait for all the food and drinks to be made for all the people who were trying to figure out what they wanted to eat. The "ticket stand" doesn't open until after matinee. It also does no good to buy tickets ahead of time online because not only do you have to pay a convenience fee, which COMPLETELY negates the entire point of going to a matinee, but they said we would still have to wait in line to scan our phone! We were assured the movie had not started at 6 min past the scheduled start time, as we were walking in. They lied. It had. The entire time this was taking place, there was an employee simply standing and chatting with the employee who takes the tickets, and 2 employees at the concession stand. They could have had one of these 4 people JUST SELLING TICKETS, but I suppose that would be too courteous for them (and might detract from their food sales). Never returning. read more

This was our first time at Edison Park 8 Cinema. The $7 matinee is by far the biggest selling point. The recliners in the movie theatre are a neat feature and fairly comfortable if you put them all the way back. I'm guessing someone with short legs might not be very comfy. The rest rooms are not well taken care of and rather rough. The popcorn, which I thought was a standard for movie cinemas, was the worst we've ever had. Even after going out to get additional 'butter/oil' and salt. Still bad. That was the most disappointing part. read more
