Came to celebrate my sisters birthday and I was so excited! The food was tasty but I'd compare it to banquet food which I actually like so it was fine for me. Also wasn't aware you could ask for a burnt end for the prime rib if you don't like it too pink. Actors were very energetic and the show was really fun. A Who Dun It on a train with dinner what's not to like!

For the price paid you get an experience and plenty of food. Drinks are provided but anything else is extra but is even at a reasonable rate. Show and food all brought out smoothly and was entertaining. It's a moving train and the time just flies by. Check in and purchase of tickets was all easy to do and if you're looking for something different, I'd say give them a try and have a good time.

Getting back on track! On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian struck SWFL with devasting rain and 155 mph winds. Thousands of homes were destroyed, hundreds of businesses were underwater by the mean Category 4 hurricane Ian. Among those affected is Seminole Gulf Railway with rail bridges and miles of tracks. No question about the impact on business and industrial transportation of material distribution. Murder Mystery Dinner Train is part of Seminole Gulf Railway operating for years by the Fay family in Fort Myers for more than 30 years. This popular Fort Myers attraction resumed its operation in November, 2022. It is estimated that it'll cost $28 million for the repair! Tonight, four of us attended the Murder Mystery Dinner Train. After we parked and check in at the Office, we entered one of five converted trains, Gasparilla with 12 inside tables. Each table seats 4 patrons. So, if you were party of 2, you may have to share the table! Halloween decorations were visible! We were promptly seated in our assigned table and a plate of crackers, grapes and cheese greeted us. A selection of Wine and cocktails were available. As drinks were served and I opted for Beach Blonde Ale from 3 Daughters Brewing, St. Pete. Next, a creamy Leek Potato soup was served with pretzel roll. The soup was delicious and flavorful and the pretzel roll was still warm. A small plate of Caesar salad with hearts of palm. Yes, it is a small plate but the right portion since we have appetizer, soup, salad, entrée and dessert. We selected salmon and prime ribs for our entrée. The salmon grazed with an orange sauce, accompanied with Rice Pilaf and green beans. Err, my wife said, they are French green bean, Haricots Verts, longer and skinnier than the regular green beans! They harvested earlier and more tender and expensive! The prime ribs with various temperatures were succulent with a good portion of mash potato and Haricot Verts. My prime ribs, at medium rare was fork tender. The prime ribs were roasted to perfection for my cut! Finally, coffee and apple spice cake were served to round out our dinner. Food and service are professionally done! Interspersed with each serving, a Murder Mystery, was acted out with a cast of four. Tonight, the murder was on the Seaboard Railroad, the suspect was named Seaboard Stabber, written by Hannah Fay. I'll not go into detail about the play but you must keep good note of conversations between each act. You will be able to identify the murderer, and motives. A clue sheet with pen was provided to write down your visual observations and conversations. One bonus question was asked as well, If you get all the right answers, you'll awarded with a certificate and a Murder Mystery Train mug! I'm a fan of crime drama TV series like "Murder, She Wrote", "Columbo". Murder Mystery Train, is right into my alley! Hurricane Ian's damages are not fully repaired yet. The train normally go up to Arcadia with a beautiful sunset view. It is shortened to stop before the Caloosahatchee River by the Fort Myers Downtown area. It is slow but on track to recovery! We had an excellent night out with good food, good friends and good play!

We took this train with another couple and had a great time. The actors were friendly and encouraged our engagement. There was plenty of time between scenes for us to chat with our friends and enjoy the delicious meal. The food was very good, expertly served by one of the cast members, in this case Rogelio, who added a air of mystery and elegance to the meal. Our table didn't win the "super sleuth" award at the end of the evening, but we all felt it was time and money well spent

Not bad. I'd been on this train many years ago, 20 to be exact. I felt like it was a much better experience then. This time the train seemed like it was overcrowded. They pretty much packed as many people as possible in there making it really tight. The food wasn't bad. Each table started with some crackers with a spread of some sort and grapes. The dinner included a potato soup which was very good, followed by a Cesar salad. The entree was a choice of prime rib, salmon or chicken franchise. Prime rib was a big portion but fatty. My friend enjoyed the salmon. Dessert was key lime pie. Alcohol was expensive but I guess that's to be expected. The show was a little cheesy but cute. Everyone on the train seemed to enjoy it but I was not too impressed. Guess I'll wait another 20 years to go again!

Ask the Community - Murder Mystery Dinner Train

How can I get a reservation the phone number won't work and the website tells us to call?

Please call 239-275-8487. We are extremely busy, so please keep trying, or try a different date online. We are sold out for much of the next few weeks. Thank you.

My girlfriend and daughter get sea sick will they be ok? My daughter wants to do it for her 18th Bday

Gil, The train does move and it does rock side to side, but it is not like being on boat. If your girlfriend and daughter are typically able to overcome motion sickness through normal methods to handle something like riding a bus then we certainly…

    Gluten free options?

Due to limited kitchen space and carrying capacity, Gluten-Free Options are NOT available. Passengers are not permitted to bring their own food or beverages aboard the train.

Is there a preference in car or table as far as scenry and seeing or heaeig the play?

No preference in my experience. The actors go to each car, so you can hear and see each part just fine. Partners sit side by side, so if you like window seats then it shouldn't be a problem.

Our four-hour trip was the perfect mix of relaxation, wildlife, and adventure. Captain Jessica and her crew went above and beyond, providing iced drinks, snacks, and buckets for collecting shells. They took us to Old Hickory Island, where we found some amazing shells, a Pygmy octopus, conch, and a sand dollar. Throughout the trip, Captain Jessica shared her knowledge about the local ecosystem, answering all of our questions about the dolphins, manatees, mangroves, and the area. One of the highlights was when she spotted a pod of dolphins. She carefully brought the boat alongside them, and we got to watch them swim and jump in our boat's wake--it was unforgettable! Communication was outstanding from start to finish. We had to reschedule twice due to weather. Captain Jessica made the process incredibly easy and stress-free. She is friendly, welcoming, and shared lots of great local recommendations for places to visit and things to do. If you're looking to support a fantastic local business while having an unforgettable day on the water, I can't recommend Captain Jessica and Island Time Dolphin & Shelling Cruise enough. Our first experience with this years ago was not great, as the boat was full of highly intoxicated passengers, but this time around things were more subdued. However, I had an absolutely bizarre experience with the bartender "Justin" on this trip. On the return trip, I approached his bar area to buy a beer. He was actively engaged in a conversation with a man at the bar. I waited several minutes. He never made eye contact with me or acknowledge me in anyway. So, I simply went to the other bar, ordered my beer, and as I turned to walk away, "Justin" was standing right in front of me and confronted me about leaving his bar. He reprimanded me for not being patient while he was giving "good customer service" to the man he was chatting with. I was in disbelief that he would approach me in such a manner, and I turned to bartender who served me and and said "Are you actually seeing this and hearing this right now?" As "Justin" walked away after his rant, the other bartender said, "I thought you knew him and he was just joking with you at first." I said, "No, I don't know him and he wasn't joking." The bartender then concluded, "Well I guess he's just in a bitchy mood tonight." It was just really strange, and an act of aggression as far as I'm concerned for him to approach me like that. When I returned to my seat with my husband, we then obsesrved another young crew member with long beard standing on the corner of "Justin's" bar staring daggers at us as if we were somehow being problematic. I hope someone at Key West reads the reviews and checks the cameras to verify this incident. You will clearly see that I was completely ignored at his bar, and then he came over to me and got right up in my personal space to confront me. Who does that?
