It is so fun that there is a murder mystery train here in Fort Myers! It seems a bit expensive though you are getting a train ride, dinner, and show. I felt the train ride itself was a bit unnecessary. There was one nice section of the train ride over water, otherwise there wasn't much to look at. Also the train was swaying back and forth causing me to get a bit nauseous. The food itself was all pretty good! The cheese and fruit plate, potato and leek soup, pretzel roll, and salad were all great starters. I was satisfied with the meal before my entree even arrived! My family and I tried all of the different options (prime rib, salmon, and chicken) and thought they all tasted good. Though I could have done without cranberries in my rice... The dessert was small and light for a cheesecake. Food was surprisingly better than we thought. As for the show, I definitely didn't get how we were supposed to deduce the killer. My friends and I wanted to try the murder mystery train after seeing some of their billboard advertisements along 75. We were able to get individual tickets online but still make note that we wanted to sit together, and that all worked out really well. The tickets are expensive (makes sense...you're getting a show, a 5-course meal, and riding a train) and being able to buy separately was really helpful for us. Everything the night of the event ran like clockwork. Boarding the train was easy and fun. We had a table in the Gasparilla train car with lovely servers who took care of us all night. Drinks are pretty reasonable (ice tea and water are included, but you can purchase soda, beer, wine, cocktails) and you can even get a full bottle of wine for your table which you can take home if you don't finish onboard. The meal was better than I expected. It started with a fruit and cheese plate, then we had hot pretzel rolls an butter, a delicious potato leek soup, a salad, and then the appetizer. Our choices were prime rib (friends said it was delicious), chicken francese (I loved it) and salmon. Dessert was a cheesecake. The performers were very animated and enthusiastic. These murder mystery shows are always hard for me to actually follow and figure out. I appreciate all that goes into it, but I wish I was a better sleuth. My only issue is that the train ride itself is VERY long at 3 - 3.5 hours. I love a nice train ride, but I wonder if they could shave a little time off the ride. read more

I'm empathetic on "the construction" of service from one cart to another. Suggest putting kitchen/food cart in the middle!! All things considered, there "system " worked. For the price paid you get an experience and plenty of food. Drinks are provided but anything else is extra but is even at a reasonable rate. Show and food all brought out smoothly and was entertaining. It's a moving train and the time just flies by. This was such an entertaining evening from start to finish The reservation and check-in process was very easy. The gift shop had some very inexpensive souvenirs, much to my delight. We boarded directly into our train car, greeted by our host, Rogelio, a charming young man who immediately had us feeling comfortable and excited about what was to come. The fruit and cheese appetizer was nicely arranged and very tasty. We had a wide selection too of beverages to choose from. The salad course and soup course were very good (corn chowder had a bit more pepper than I care for, but that is a personal choice isn't it?) When the main course arrived, we were impressed to note that the prime rib looked even better than the pictures we had viewed on line. It was all delicious. The pumpkin pie dessert had a crust that was way too thick, IMHO , but the filling was very tasty. The murder mystery was so entertaining. The actors played their roles well, and we had fun piecing together the clues to solve the mystery and name the killer. The three hours flew by. Getting back on track! On September 28, 2022, Hurricane Ian struck SWFL with devasting rain and 155 mph winds. Thousands of homes were destroyed, hundreds of businesses were underwater by the mean Category 4 hurricane Ian. Among those affected is Seminole Gulf Railway with rail bridges and miles of tracks. No question about the impact on business and industrial transportation of material distribution. Murder Mystery Dinner Train is part of Seminole Gulf Railway operating for years by the Fay family in Fort Myers for more than 30 years. This popular Fort Myers attraction resumed its operation in November, 2022. It is estimated that it'll cost $28 million for the repair! Tonight, four of us attended the Murder Mystery Dinner Train. After we parked and check in at the Office, we entered one of five converted trains, Gasparilla with 12 inside tables. Each table seats 4 patrons. So, if you were party of 2, you may have to share the table! Halloween decorations were visible! We were promptly seated in our assigned table and a plate of crackers, grapes and cheese greeted us. A selection of Wine and cocktails were available. As drinks were served and I opted for Beach Blonde Ale from 3 Daughters Brewing, St. Pete. Next, a creamy Leek Potato soup was served with pretzel roll. The soup was delicious and flavorful and the pretzel roll was still warm. A small plate of Caesar salad with hearts of palm. Yes, it is a small plate but the right portion since we have appetizer, soup, salad, entrée and dessert. We selected salmon and prime ribs for our entrée. The salmon grazed with an orange sauce, accompanied with Rice Pilaf and green beans. Err, my wife said, they are French green bean, Haricots Verts, longer and skinnier than the regular green beans! They harvested earlier and more tender and expensive! The prime ribs with various temperatures were succulent with a good portion of mash potato and Haricot Verts. My prime ribs, at medium rare was fork tender. The prime ribs were roasted to perfection for my cut! Finally, coffee and apple spice cake were served to round out our dinner. Food and service are professionally done! Interspersed with each serving, a Murder Mystery, was acted out with a cast of four. Tonight, the murder was on the Seaboard Railroad, the suspect was named Seaboard Stabber, written by Hannah Fay. I'll not go into detail about the play but you must keep good note of conversations between each act. You will be able to identify the murderer, and motives. A clue sheet with pen was provided to write down your visual observations and conversations. One bonus question was asked as well, If you get all the right answers, you'll awarded with a certificate and a Murder Mystery Train mug! I'm a fan of crime drama TV series like "Murder, She Wrote", "Columbo". Murder Mystery Train, is right into my alley! Hurricane Ian's damages are not fully repaired yet. The train normally go up to Arcadia with a beautiful sunset view. It is shortened to stop before the Caloosahatchee River by the Fort Myers Downtown area. It is slow but on track to recovery! Infants (and apparently anyone under 8 years old) not welcome. Despite what their website states, it is NOT up to the discretion of the parents. The website stated it was discouraged but ultimately up to the parents discretion, but we were told this is not actually the case when I showed up with my 11 week old baby and was turned away (actually they first said they would need to charge me the $129 for her although she wouldn't need a seat or a meal any living thing on the train needed to pay the $129. When I questioned this the person checking people in called her higher up and this was the person to made the call that infants weren't welcome at all, paid or otherwise). I understood I would need to stay seated, not have a changing area, etc. I was fine with all of that. It's my third baby and I don't need a special area to change her and she stays in a ring sling strapped to my body, no problem. She then said even if I was fine, the other people wouldn't appreciate my infant on board. While I understand infants aren't welcome everywhere, I would've appreciated the policy listed on their website and FAQ to accurately reflect this (which I told them at the time and they assured me they would be updating their website). They did offer my party of 6 a full refund but our account won't reflect the returned funds for several days, which is quite a bit of money to be tied up ($129 x 6 people). While it's not a huge problem for us, it definitely could be for others so buyer beware. read more

We took this train with another couple and had a great time. The actors were friendly and encouraged our engagement. There was plenty of time between scenes for us to chat with our friends and enjoy the delicious meal. The food was very good, expertly served by one of the cast members, in this case Rogelio, who added a air of mystery and elegance to the meal. I would definitely recommend the dinner train. There were several servers per car and the actors stopped in each car to tell you what was happening. It was amazing that during the performances everyone in the train car stopped talking. The train is refurbished and beautifully decorated. I was not a fan of the desert. Not bad. I'd been on this train many years ago, 20 to be exact. I felt like it was a much better experience then. This time the train seemed like it was overcrowded. They pretty much packed as many people as possible in there making it really tight. The food wasn't bad. Each table started with some crackers with a spread of some sort and grapes. The dinner included a potato soup which was very good, followed by a Cesar salad. The entree was a choice of prime rib, salmon or chicken franchise. Prime rib was a big portion but fatty. My friend enjoyed the salmon. Dessert was key lime pie. Alcohol was expensive but I guess that's to be expected. The show was a little cheesy but cute. Such a fun dinner! Cute little train with the tables all set up with a fruit and cheese plate as you enter. We had a party of four so we're all seated together. Everyone was so friendly, the service was excellent. Everyone in our party ordered the prime rib, so delish. The view wasn't always the greatest but kind of expect that going thru town on a train. Would not recommend. Spent 135 pp and ordered cocktails only to get about 3 sips from an espresso martini for $15. Dinner was good and service adequate but the show was so cheesy. upon returning to station had a staff member come to table and say " you must not have understood, you tipped the bar tender but didn't follow the directions for the suggested gratuity and pay that. She then insisted that we pay the $10 because it was suggested on the menu In small print! Paid her cash and asked for change that I had to repeatedly ask for upon which she said oh you wanted change? So rude! If they want staff to be paid more then charge more than the ridiculous price it already is. Will let everyone I know in Fort Myers about the customer experience and not go read more

We had such a fun time on the Murder Mystery Train! My wife and I were visiting Florida and took her parents on an adventure in Ft Myers. We thought the train would be fun, but were surprised at how good the food was! As for the entertainment, the actors did an excellent job detailing the murder of Kilroy. Dropping clues, we all had to guess whodunnit. Acting wasn't easy due to the mask requirement, but they did a great job. Our food started off with a plate of cheese and crackers as we took our table. The potato leek soup, Caesar salad, and pretzel rolls were delicious. For entrees, we had a choice of prime rib, salmon, or chicken francaise. I went with the prime rib which was very good with horseradish. Even the apple spice cake was tasty. Drinks weren't included in the dinner, but they had a good selection of anything we wanted. My partner and I had a great time! Atmosphere: the train was very clean with comfortable chairs seating 4 to a table. My partner and I sat across from another couple and we had a blast the entire time. If you're group is larger than 4 people you can let them know at the time of booking that you want to sit across from each other and they will sit you all together in one area. The train was decently decorated and matched with our shows theme. They also take you to a few spots with beautiful views once you get past the residential areas. Show: The acting was comedic, the actors committed to their characters and interacted with the audience on the train. It was not a broadway show, but it was very entertaining and funny. They also change themes every few months so the acts are fresh and you're likely to see a different show on your next visit. Food: Amazing! The meal starts off with cheese and fruits for the table to share, then bread, salad or fruit cup, soup, the main dish, and carrot cake to finish. First, let me say the staff was great. Completely professional and great customer service. Could use more training. Oh... my server called me a cow killer as he handed me my knife. So... that's a problem. The train itself was clean and the seats were comfortable. The table, however, was overly filled. There was way too much stuff on the table for the tiny space. That's an easy fix. The actors: you would think it would be better based on the ticket price, so I can't say "you get what you pay for"; but it was for sure entertaining. The actors did a great job staying in character, but the story line is just subpar. Buuuuut, entertaining, nonetheless. The food: AWFUL! Completely awful. My family ordered the salmon, DO NOT GET. It was horrible. I tried a piece, couldn't even get to the chewing. Touched my tongue and I spit it right out. Actually looks as if the food was microwaved. I had the steak- most of it was pure fat- see pictures. I seriously could not believe it. The train ride: pointless. There is no scenery. Just swampland. Dessert: nothing to brag about. I've been wanting to do a Murder Mystery Train so finally some friends and I went to do this Murder Mystery Dinner Train in Fort Myers . It is truly a unique dining experience . This dinner train runs Wednesdays through Sundays . A Five course dinner is served starting off with a cheese, cracker, and fruit tray. Now, calling it a tray is too generous of a term. A small plate with some grapes and crackers is more accurate. It was followed by a bowl of soup. I had the tomatoe bisque, a Cesar salad, and rolls. The selection of entrees include Prime rib, seafood, and chicken. I selected the prime rib and it was delicious! I got my prime rib with whipped potatoes and a small side of green beans. The food came out slow because the day that we went Chef Phil was the only one in the galley cooking, but, again the food was delicious! Haley, our server, was awesome! The murder mystery was very entertaining! It kept us all laughing and guessing the entire time. The murder mystery on this train was well written, and fantastically acted! The food wasn't as good, but it wasn't horrible. We were disappointed to see there wasn't the option of a vegetarian entree, and the chicken was quite dry. However, they did a good job of cooking the prime rib to order and the potato leek soup was excellent. The dessert was quite good though! I would absolutely recommend the ride just for the entertainment, but don't expect too much from the food. However, all of the drinks were also delicious! The train doesn't go very far right now because of the recent hurricane, but you hardly notice while trying to solve a murder! read more
