I contacted them and they were immediately responsive, warm and informative. They met my wife and I at the hotel, right on time and off we went. The weather was not the best, rainy and a bit cold and when we arrived at Herculaneum it was pouring and no guide in site. But then out of the downpour came Hector and the adventure began. Hector was a so well informed and treated us to insights and history we'd never have had in another venue. Although we'd been on the site for a number of hours, I'd still be there today soaking up (no pun intended) all the history if it could have been possible. But alas, all good things have to end and so we headed back to Rome. Our driver Daniel (sp?) was excellent...very safe and very calm. If I had one complaint, it would be that Daniel didn't provide any sightseeing commentary on our way to Ercalano (Herculaneum). It is a long trip by car and I'm sure there were many things of interest that we passed without knowing it....the famous Monte Casino being one such place. I hope Miles & Miles will consider including such commentary in the future.

Salvatore (Florence) provided lots of information to all the places we were visiting. Both were excellent drivers and returned us to the ship with plenty of time to spare. Long closed to the public, this was the nosebleed section, deemed for only for women. Yet two millennia later, you will have a VIP seat for taking in the entire Colosseum. An imperial view at its best!" Well our tour guide never took us to that third level. When I questioned her about it she told me I "booked the wrong tour," "it was impossible to see that much in three hours," and "I'm not lying to you." I took her word for it and figured I just selected the wrong tour at check out. However, when we got back to the hotel and looked into it I DID book the correct tour and she just didn't bring us up there! I do not know if this tour guide just didn't care or if this company is intentionally misleading people, but I am very disappointed because that is one of the key reasons I chose this tour. On top of that, when we went to the Colosseum we expected to hear about gladiators and the events that took place in the arena. Instead, once we got inside we heard about water and the drainage system! That's all our guide talked about - how aqueducts work. She also only pointed out the drains when we were in the dungeons. Nothing about the animals that were stored here or the gladiators that waited to fight - just "look at this drain," "look, another drain!" Don't bother with this tour - we passed multiple other tour groups and from what we overheard their guides saying we would've been better off with one of those companies.

They took us to all the places we wanted to see and provided us insight that only true Roman's could provide. We travelled with our elderly mother, who required a wheelchair. Both Sergio and Alessandra were very patient and conscientious with her, and us. Alessandra cleared paths for the wheelchair and took us to the easiest paths, avoiding all of the lines. She was so knowledgeable and provided us with the best Roman history lesson possible. We wish we could do it again tomorrow. Highly recommend this team for all.

It was so much fun getting to ride through Rome on vespa's. While on the ride they pointed out all of the cool monuments and places to see with intermittent breaks to get into more detail about the Colloseo and the Via Appia as well as other cool places. We even had a short break to eat at one of their favorite gelato places, which by the way was awesome. I know this because my friends and I tired out a ton of different gelato places during our stay. Where do I begin with this tour? We were picked up at our hotel and we drove about an hour or so, to get some coffee and a small on the go breakfast. Then we headed for Pompeii. We had a private 2hr guided tour. I've noticed that every tour guide (and I booked many tours so I can confirm) are like an encyclopedia and full of knowledgeable. Our guide walked us through the most beautiful parts and taught us so much. Everything from their plumbing system, the trade center, mosaic floors and walls, frescos, "fast food" concepts, the baths/spas, Mt. Vesuvius, the plaster bodies and so on, we got to experience and see how people lived. Honestly, it's not much different than today, as the basic principles and concept remains the same. After being absolutely blown away by Pompeii, we took a nice drive down to the Amalfi Coast's little town of Positano. Our guide, Giuseppe, made reservations for us in advance at Ristorante Buca Di Bacco Positanom which sits right on the water. Not only were the views magnificent but I've never had a more delicious lobster in my life. It was soft, flavorful and a little on the sweet side. It is worth flying back to Italy to eat it again, no joke! After lunch, my husband dipped his feet in the water and got to soak in the beauty of Positano. Next, we went to Limoncello tasting. I know this is native to this region and all but honestly, limoncello needs to be in a mixed drink. Its rough as a shot. After this, we had the option to go to Amalfi but we decided to head back to Rome, as it is all similar and didn't want to get back past 10pm. Also, one more thing to mention. Our driver was Roberto. This man was the most amazing driver. He drove so professionally and smoothly, where we didn't even feel a thing on those long drives, twists and turns. If you can fall asleep on that cliffside, you know you are in good hands with Roberto!

Salty, creamy, and a hint of sweetness from the cream. An explosive flavor combo. Next we stopped at the one and only Bonci Pizzarium. If you watched chef table to see Ann Kim, you might have seen this place. Phenomenal pizza by the slice with creative toppings like purple potatoes or squash with sausage. Next we had some traditional Italian pasta at Osteria Da Fortunata. Some red wine paired with Amatriciana. Well spiced and fresh noodles went down way too easy. We finished with charcuterie and tiramisu at La Nicchia Cafe. Many types of cheeses, bruschetta, balsamic, meats, and olive oils. Rounded out by the best tiramisu I've ever had. ____________
