Local business are something I really appreciate, and am grateful for. I like to support my community by, for example, going to salons in Woodland. Sadly, Luxe gets 1 star (no stars, really) from me. Why? Because I have been trying to book an appointment with a stylist there for ten days! I've messaged online, left voice messages, called 2 stylists - nothing. My messages and calls are not returned. Is there a secret password? I'm very annoyed with the attitude of too many stylists in Woodland, and Luxe is typical of that lack of customer service. So it's off to Sacramento I go, to give my business to a salon and stylist who cares enough to promptly return my call. Eh, they do better work in Sac, anyway. What's with Woodland Hairdressers??Where to begin! Maybe Kim is talented from her pictures posted, however I reached out in hopes to get in. She says she takes 48hrs to get back to a new client and gives her current clients priority. She then ask for a picture of my hair and my last name. I send it as requested all for her to tell me she IS NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS after over a week of trying to hear back from her. Over a week!! She said she had been sick. Her Instagram says different about taking new clients. It's like these hairdressers pick and choose who's hair they want to do. It's tacky. My hair isn't f'd up either. They do hair. Some better then others yes, however they are not a doctor. LOL Everyone is busy, however don't waste your money or time with individuals or a hairdresser that doesn't have the time to respond in a decent timeframe or with someone that isn't upfront from the initial contact. Highly recommend!! I initially went in for a B3 and Split End Treatment from Kim. I so grateful to have gotten this treatment because I learned so much about my hair and how to better take care of it. Kim had the patience to answer my million questions (literally!) about how to treat my hair to prep it for the next service. Usually when you go to a salon people try to force their products on you- not here. Kim told me about products she recommended and also shared information about cheaper alternatives. She didn't sugar coat anything and gave me the facts about these products. I genuinely appreciated her support and she gained a new client for sure! read more

After a really horrible experience a few months back with one of the stylists at the salon (who has now been fired) Kim the owner found me to reach out and make things right. She gave me a free b3 treatment and cut as well as some amazing hair care advice for my thick blonde hair. She made my hair feel and look the best it's ever been. I've dealt with hair traumas in the past and she not only fixed the disaster, but never fails to give me exactly what I want. I love a hairstylist who gives me her opinion on how certain tones will look with my skin tone especially since I love looking tan. She is always so helpful in how certain styles or colors with compliment my face and skin tone which is something I've never experienced in other places, and I'm extremely grateful because Kim cares! Kim is a hair GODDESS!!! I moved to Woodland about 2 years ago when I first started seeing Kim and I thank God everyday that I found her! I had previously gotten a balayage done by someone else and needed a cut and color update. During my consultation with Kim, she told me that my hair had broken off around my crown to about 2 inches!!! She explained to me that is was most likely from the last stylist's improper use of bleach and heat and she didn't feel comfortable adding more bleach knowing it would make it worse. I HAD NO IDEA I lost so much hair until Kim told me. I appreciated so much that she was honest with me because the last stylist clearly tried to hide her mistake, and I was walking around missing hair. Kim was able to color and style me and NOT make more of my hair fall out. Kim went out of her way to explain what most likely happened and how the plan to fix it. She helped me feel calm and that everything was going to be okay while I was freaking out about losing so much hair. What sets Kim apart from every other stylist is that she took the time to educate me about hair maintenance. She took me through step-by-step on which shampoo/conditioner to use for my type of hair, how to keep up the color with purple shampoo, and how to keep it healthy with deep conditioner. I had no idea that this was such a science! Because I know how to properly take care of my hair now, everyday my hair feels as soft/silky as the day I leave the salon! Absolutely LOVE Kim!!! She will make all your hair dreams come true AND educate you about taking care of your hair. I've never had a stylist take the time to educate me about what products to use and why..they've always just pushed the products their salon sells. Kim is way different she actually wants to find what's right for you (budget, hair color, product smell, etc). Every time I go to an appointment I learn something new about how to care for my hair, how to curl it, how often to wash it. Can not tell you enough how much I love my hair now that it's healthy and well colored.. I have dark dark brown hair and she gets me to a perfect balayage blonde every time (AND IT LASTS). I'm not turning into a brassy monster in between appointments. Can not recommend her enough!! And she's someone you actually want to hang out with for your 2 hour appointment!!
