The front desk staff is courteous and offers you to the waiting area's coffee, bottled water and/or a variety of seltzer waters. My first 6 month check-up was just done there since relocating to Portland. The intake examination by the Dental Hygienist was the most thorough I have ever experienced. In depth photographs were taken of my teeth and mouth in addition to the typical x-rays. This is definitely a newer, very updated, current, and more modern establishment. To say the least, I'm very happy to have chosen this practice. I've always been somewhat 'dentist phobic' and was pleased to actually feel relaxed the entire time. I have a follow up appointment to have a crown done and I have no worries or nervousness about having it done. Both the Dental Hygienist and Dentist were very professional: communicated well, explaining my dental health in detail, treatment plan, and provided good recommendations. As a side note: the examination room was amazing! I mentioned that I felt cold and I was immediately brought a blanket. There's TV mounted on the ceiling so you can watch something during your procedure. There's a very large TV monitor on the wall that will show your x-rays, etc. as they go through each point of examination follow-up. I never thought I'd enjoy a dentist visit but this practice has changed the way I feel about having my teeth taken care of. I highly recommend them.

PHENOMENAL Dental practice!!!…read more But first, a little history...I was recently given a rather dire prognosis during an emergency visit to my former Dentist. I left her office in shock, with little explanation of how the current problem could have occurred, and a paper copy of a referral to an oral surgeon. I was basically left to fend for myself without experience and was completely overwhelmed. This came as a shock, so I began looking for a second opinion. In speaking with the Reception staff and Patient Coordinator at Peak Dental by phone, I was immediately taken by how present they were in listening to my situation and working to find an open slot to fit me in right away. Once there, I was greeted warmly and they spent over TWO HOURS hours with me, talking/listening, examining, photographing, reviewing transferred X-Rays and creating a path forward out of the mess I had found myself in. I can honestly say that Kaitlyn is the best, I repeat - THE BEST, Dental Hygenist that I've ever had the pleasure to be treated by (I'm a huge Chicken...Dental anxiety doesn't begin to describe it!). She was incredibly present (great listening skills), patient and gentle in performing a thorough examination and forming an assessment. We were then joined by Dr. Anders, who reviewed the transferred X-Rays, along with new images they had taken during Kaitlyn's examination. Dr. Anders explained the situation and possible causes in great detail and patiently addressed all of my questions. They formulated a treatment plan that would not only address and resolve the situation that I had found myself in, but one that would all but guarantee that something like this will NOT occur again! Lastly, I worked with their Billing Rep to work out the finer details - she was funny, knowledgeable and super helpful! Needless to say, I have switched dentists and will now be a happy client of Peak Dental Health from this point forward. As a side note...The folks at Peak Dental truly understand the importance of up-to-date technology and have all of the bells and whistles that you would expect to see in a larger, metropolitan dental office. When I first moved back to Maine and discovered that a 'deep cleaning' consisted of a Hygenist trying to slip a metal pick 5mm under the gumline and sadistically scrape away for 45 minutes, I thought I had accidentally taken a wrong turn and ended up back in the Dark Ages...Folks, it's stuff like this that makes Maine look like a cultural backwater. You will NOT encounter the low-tech approach at Peak Dental or their staff - You'll be in great hands!

Never worked, doc just shrugged. I had a sore tooth which he decided needed a crown. It was an abscess which was on all the X-rays for which I actually needed a root canal. Right through that new porcelain crown. I requested my dental records be sent to my new but they sent anything and now they are closed for vacation. More to come on the rest of my peak dental work. WARNING: DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE OR DENTIST

I had never been to the office, but was recommended by a friend. I felt extremely well cared for, even though I was new, and they took the time in an obviously busy schedule to help me out.
