My sister and I went together today and had booked Jillian (currently a trainee and a licensed aesthetician), Ruby was already booked up. Jillian is amazing! She was super gentle, especially on eyebrows that have spent way too long without being threaded. Another trainee was watching Jillian and we all learned so much from her! My eyebrows look incredible and they weren't red!! The ambiance of the place is great. There was a Whitney Houston playlist going when we came in and her star spangled banner came on and two older friends were having such a beautiful moment listening to it. Holly and I both commented on her incredible salon chairs, they had a great foot rest and they spin so your threader can use the strongest light and stance. Ruby, congratulations on this amazing achievement! And thank you for sharing your talents with others. Even though it's 1.5 hours away for me, I'm still there.

Also, I once had a haircut done by Kaitlyn and I can easily say she gave me the best hair washing experience I've ever had to the point I'm considering just booking her on random occasions when I need a deep clean wash. The space is beautifully decorated and I like the lounge area (there's one downstairs and upstairs). You can enjoy coffee, tea, sparkling water and a granola bar while you wait for your appointment. And then I read about this rare (what I thought was a mythical) creature - a stylist who actively cared about what her clients wanted, while also providing brutally honest feedback about their current hair situation and their hair vision, but then worked with them to achieve something otherworldly. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating, but that's how I've felt. I came to Kaitlyn with a tangly brown limp mess. I wanted an ombre (a multi toned hair effect) of my natural hair color to white then blue. Instead she offered up a moderate balyage (highlights blending seamlessly) of aquatic. The next time I saw her, more of my hair was balayaged with aquatic, and now basically my whole head is aquatic colored. She transformed me into a sea queen, and everywhere I go people compliment my mermaid hair (no, really, they do). And I legit had nothing to do with it. I never thought I'd have ocean-inspired hair, but it looks so natural that the first time I did it people were like "yeah, that's how you were always supposed to look." WHAT? She also trims me up and offers advice on how to manage the style (french braids are a go, messy buns always work, pony's should be avoided, and can we bring back the scrunchie already?). And I know, without a doubt, that the moment I were to walk in and say, "I'm done with this, could I have something 'normal' please?" she'd find the exact perfect look for me, my face structure, my skin tone, my personality. My partner also sees her every four to five weeks; she keeps his hair and beard line fresh. Love the studio itself - it's small but very modern, minimalist chic. There's ONLY street parking, so if you're in it for more than two hours you might wanna consider Ubering. Also, there are other talented stylists who work here, so maybe go see them? Because Kaitlyn's booking up way to fast and far out now for my liking. (No, it's okay, really, you can see her too... Iet's live in a world where everyone loves their gorgeous hairdos).

This alone made me uncomfortable and concerned for my health and was one of the reasons years ago I stopped coming there but received a gift card for Christmas so I thought I would try it again. On top of that, customer service was lacking. My concerns and requests were brushed off, and it was clear that the staff were not interested in accommodating customer needs or ensuring satisfaction. I did not feel listened to or valued as a paying customer. A nail salon should prioritize cleanliness, professionalism, and customer care, and unfortunately this location failed in all three areas. Then she (still on her Apple Watch call) and a couple of other women urgently said, "But you have to tip!" Umm, if you want a tip from me, get off your effing phone. Also the water was too hot, the towels were too hot, and she started arguing with me when I said I didn't want gel nails. I really hope this isn't the new normal. I'll give them one more chance, and if it happens again I'll find a new place.
