Great public outdoor space with many different shops, cafes, tattoo shop, barbershop, outdoor wall artwork, etc. The bookstore and the rooftop are definitely the must sees here. Love the view you get from the rooftop of the 25 de Abril bridge. Getting here is easy by public transit or uber, though getting a uber back home can be a bit tough. read more

An interesting counter culture-ish alternative to the run of the mill touristy offerings peppering so many of the streets here in Lisbon. Many small studio/galleries and food stores. Still plenty of tourists but nowhere near the masses we've seen in other locations. read more

I wished for a bit more time to explore here as well. There are so many great little shops and restaurants, I could easily spend a half the day. As it was, we popped into a fun gift store and wandered around for a bit, then we stopped at Ler Devegar bookstore..which is just so delightful and is where I bought myself a Portuguese tile themed coloring book to take home as a souvenir, and then we stopped to listen to a band playing at one of the bar/restaurants. They were great and it was packed! Lots of cool murals, there was a DJ outside one cafe/restaurant and it's just an interesting place to wander. I will definitely be back on my next visit. read more

Awesome spot to venture around if you don't have much to do in Lisbon, Portugal. LX Factory is also very close to Time Out Market via local bus. There are a lot of artwork/graffiti around the area w/ tons of café & restaurants. There is also souvenir & boutique shops. Highly recommend trying the chocolate cake at Landeau's & visiting the bookstore (forgot the name of it)!! The chocolate cake was so amazing & the bookstore was so fun and cool! read more

Appreciated the artistry but have to agree with Megan Y in that we walked around and said, "That's it?" We didn't eat there either BUT they did have an AWESOME band that had everyone dancing and having a great time. Also the bathrooms were much cleaner that I would have anticipated :) read more

Very unique and interesting place to wander through shops and grab a bite to eat. Lots of energy and artistic items you might not find elsewhere. It's weird that traffic is allowed to drive thru on the street so be sure to watch out for traffic. most of the shops close around 7 but the restaurants are open later. read more

Loved LX Factory. It's like an artist/maker market with artisan shops along with restaurants and cafes. There's so many shops to explore! If you are a shopper, plan to spend a long time here. It's especially great if you are looking for home goods/decor and/or gifts that go beyond the typical souvenir or food and wine offerings. I was more here to browse, and it was great, but if you are in a shopping mood, LX Factory is a must. The vibe is chill. It's hip and funky and I wish I had planned for more time here. Great fun area to come to to get out of the city! I love the artsy area and the stores. We came here on a Sunday where they had a outdoor market for local artist items. I got some beautiful earrings for 8 euros. There was also a hostel there with a cool rooftop and it's easy to spot because of the big splattered on the wall mural. I imagine that it's booked up all the time because of its location. Unfortunately a lot of the restaurants were closed when we went since it was kind of early but I glanced at the menus and they seem like cool spots. read more

Funky and surprising, with another artisan shop around every corner. In a converted web printing complex, it is a eclectic mix of restaurants, shops in a historic reclaimed factory. Even though it has been in Lisbon for many years, it has a temporary feeling, like these restaurants are all new. read more

I wanted to love this place and I really thought I would. It has that urban hipster vibe that I generally like. I think maybe the over selling of that vibe is what rubbed me the wrong way. Like, for real, how many inspirational English-language quotes can you have on windows before it's just meaningless? I think LX Factory is coming close to answering that question. A lot of the shops sell weird things. Of the 10-15 shops I went in, only a handful had items that I'd actual be buying. The rest looked more like garishly curated art spaces. Which is cool, but not my speed. The public art was nice, but much like the inspirational quotes, when overdone or done poorly, it has a counter-appeal to me. The one thing I liked without qualifications was the Bordalo II bee trash art. Amazing. Overall, I would come back again and hope for a better impression. Perhaps if I had come with friends for food I would have had a better experience. read more

If only we had had more time...what a great place...my partner had been before...lots of great shops and plenty of bars, cafes & restaurants which we weren't able to try out...another visit to Lisbon required one feels...which frankly is a must because there was so much to see and do and 3 & 1/2 days is simply far too short Not the easiest place to get to or from though but that's what Uber is for! read more

I agree with Ahra, definitely felt like a tourist trap, there was really only one shop that sold authentic interesting items - most items in stores were unnecessarily expensive. We ended up eating at the Terapist, besides the juices food was actually bad. I got pad Thai, my girlfriend got lentil ball, both of our food were either dry or not tasty. If you're here for short time, spend your time somewhere else. read more

The area is actually kind of small, mostly one main street with lots of cute shops and restaurants. It's insane why they don't block off the streets from traffic, it feels rather dangerous as the pavement is not wide and there are lots of restaurants with outdoor seatings, so when it gets crowded you easily find yourself walking on the street. Hopefully as this place continue to grow, they will make it pedestrian only. It's good to spend an afternoon, grab a lunch, explore the shops and maybe grab a drink and stay till the evening. There is a wide variety of food to choose from: Portuguese, Asian, vegan, desserts... I discovered some cute shops, as well as a smoothie station that is totally plastic and electricity free. How they make the smoothie, you ask? Well, you have to find out for yourself! read more

Very cool atmosphere and interesting shops. Worth it to go and look around, however, the restaurants weren't as good as expected. When I went the only places that were open were a hotdog place, and sandwich place, and a burger place. Not the best options for dinner. Warning: most of the stores close at 7:30 so go early in the evening. There is a cool rooftop bar that made the visit worth it but the signage was minimal and it's difficult to find. read more

One of the highlights of our weeklong stay in Portugal, this is the hipster arts district that reminded me of DUMBO in Brooklyn, being right under the bridge. Glad we stopped by with a quick Uber ride after touring around Belém for the day. All the shops are cute and the murals and other artwork are striking, but we decided to grab a drink and stay to listen to the band playing near the entrance. Timing is everything, as the fading light and perfect temperatures in November made this a relaxing late afternoon memory on a Tuesday. The little shop not only had the standard Super Bock on draft, but a few other cocktails and plenty of outdoor seating. Time Out Market was a great introduction to Lisbon food, staying at an AirBnB in the Alfama was a cozy home, and the LX Factory was the perfectly beautiful example of older city building revitalization happening so many places. Be sure to talk along both the main street and the back area to get full view of the space. read more

If you're in Lisbon check this place out on a Sunday! I haven't seen anything quite like this before and I am so glad I checked it out. There's an outdoor market with all kinds of beautiful accessories, clothes, art, food etc. I purchased some clothes and those really popular leather bracelets for myself and as gifts. Be prepared to spend half a day here and enjoy the artsy and cool vibes LX factory has to offer. read more

A really neat urban market with tons of unique shops and restaurants. For someone visiting Lisbon, this is a cool place to explore! My friends and i went during the winter months so the outdoor scene was dead. But in the warmer weather, I can envision this to be a fun place for groups to hang out. read more

What a neat little area..... great vibes and cool vendors hocking they're goods. One vendor has the nicest paracords bracelets. Some yelpers didn't give it the best reviews, but I think it's a area worth a visit if your in the city. Actually it's worth a go out of your way visit. (Especially if you enjoy a farmers market/flea market type setting) I'm glad I made the effort and my wife enjoyed it as well. I purchased a few photographs from a local photographer of some great shots of Portuguese culture, one being the famous tram 28. Lastly there's some great restaurants to the right and left of the market walkway, with good food, drinks and music. You won't regret the decision. read more

A must-visit. It's interesting what different countries can do with areas that were likely old industrial warehouses, etc. In this case, it was turned into a cool bookstore, a bunch of hipstery coffeehouses, bars, etc. It's a fun area to just kind of walk around and explore. Keep in mind it's open to cars so you may find yourself dodging a Fiat Punto or a Renault Megane on your walk around the area. read more

Like all the good places, it seems, it's not the easiest job to find LX Factory, but you absolutely won't regret it. This used-to-be factory turned into a big creative area, with lots of shops, restaurants and markets. - Ler Devagar is a pretty pretty bookstore (with also non-Portuguese books); - La Cantina is the place where I ate the best vegetarian meal ever, a stuffed zucchini. read more

Loved the area. More restaurants and cafes than retail but worth a trip for sure if you're into art and design. There are a dozen or so unique stores worth checking out. May be more lively at night - was fairly quiet daytime. Found lovely handmade silver earrings. We didn't stop for lunch and were in and out in less than 90 minutes, even with two purchases. read more

Tip: Sorta mid-way from Cais de Sondré - Belem, so perhaps it would be a good stop-over on the way back from Belem. I think I came at the wrong date/time because it was sorta dead when I visited - mid-week, mid-afternoon. Half of the food places were closed, not many people around, not to mention that it was fairly difficult to find. For Canadians, this place was sorta like a mix of Toronto's Kensington Market/Distillery District or a partial version of Vancouver's Granville Island, except that it wasn't as busy. It's a group of former factories that have been converted into boutiques, small restaurants, bars, funky furniture shops, jewelry stores, etc. Again, I would've loved to have visited on their flea market day (Sunday?), but I wasn't in-town that day. I'm sure my impression would've been quite different on a busier day! read more

Located a bit outside of the main hub, LX Factory is a collection of small cafes, bookshops, vendors, and more. It's almost a little village of the arts, which I loved. A few friends and I came here for brunch and ended up with a huge plate of items. It was way overpriced (14 euros in Lisbon) but it was delicious and could have fed two people so I guess it made up for it. I only had about ten minutes to explore before my friend had to head back to the apartment to catch a cab to the airport. Sad times. Although I didn't get to see much, I loved the bit of the area that I did see, and would definitely recommend it to visitors. read more
