    Strawberry Nutella Crepe
    Wing Yan K.

I discovered this food truck at the Columbus Food Truck Festival. Crepes is one of my favorite desserts and so glad to try out another awesome food truck offer Crepes. I got the Strawberry Nutella Crepe and I love it. The crepe itself is very fluffy and loaded with lots of strawberries and Nutella. The staffs are super friendly as well.

What a great find. I had the Monte Cristo crepe and for dessert, the mixed berry crepe. I also…read moresampled the James Dean and the chocolate eclair crepes. All were phenomenal but there are still plenty more on the menu I will be back to try. There is a simple but charmingly quaint indoor dining room and a few tables outside, as well. I was fortunate enough to have walked in on a weekend morning and was seated immediately but if there is a wait, just know your patience will be rewarded.

I ventured out within a couple of hours of viewing to experience Le crepe on Washington Avenue in downtown Royal Oak. I was greeted upon entering while my 2-high top table was arranged. The ambiance and vibe in this small space was extremely relaxing and the staff friendly. Tiekeya, the owner, was helpful when I explained that it was my first time. My server was her niece, a young lady with a tremendous smile who shared she was a student at MSU as I was wearing a pullover displaying her Alma mater that I know well from paying so much tuition over several years for my children. I started with an enjoyable vanilla cappuccino which was prepared to my liking. I did not feel rushed at all, but the service was attentive and consistent throughout my dining experience. The restaurant was quite popular on this morning and I heard others mentioning the segment on the news. It was funny, as I was texting a couple of friends (foodies) from work who were very curious to hear about my experience. I was sharing quickly upon sitting down as this was a nice treat. I reviewed the menu which had several unique choices and I decided to order The Green Goat which was a crepe containing pan-seared chicken, bacon, Granny Smith apples, and caramelized onions with goat cheese and a little arugula. The combination of flavors was delicious in every aspect! Wow! As wonderful as my main course was, the sweet crepe favorites were even tastier. I chose the Cinnamon Sweet Cheese with bananas which included a crepe containing the bananas and a house cinnamon cream cheese icing that was fantastic! Thanks again to Fox 2 News as I will gladly make the 24 minute drive to enjoy this experience again. I also was thrilled to meet Chef Dennis in the kitchen who I had seen on the news. Do enjoy if you venture out and there is free parking for the first two hours in the nearby garage. Le Crepe was so good that I returned the next day and enjoyed a wonderful local brewed enjoyable coffee while I waited for a table. On day #2, I was really struggling to decide which crepe to try from so many descriptive choices on the menu. I chose the James Dean which was also fantastic once again. It was a delicious combination of flavors of scrambled eggs, a slightly spicy homemade sausage that was a perfect complement, and red skin potatoes with a cherry sauce drizzle. Tiekeya assured me that I can try one of the others when I come back on Tuesday . It is wonderful to meet such a kind business owner and it was refreshing to experience the staff interaction and she shared that I have now become one of her "regulars". I can't wait to come back and introduce family and friends to this amazing menu of tasty treats.

3.0 overall but 5 for service…read more The Bedford Diner in Temperance (not to be confused with the Bedford Coney Island in Lambertville) is a diner I hadn't been to in a very long while. Decided to check it out in the hope of having a meal and getting some work done around 3pm. As I was walking in, I noted the posted hours and they were closing at 4pm. Oh well. As I entered the restaurant, the server was sweeping the floor. She showed me to a table. I was the only customer. I tried to ignore a slight musty smell-as if tables had been wiped down with a musty rag, to give you an idea. The server, Crystal, couldn't have been nicer. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and she brought the iced tea in one glass and lemonade in another so I could mix it up to suit my taste. Nice! I ordered a Turkey Reuben with dressing on the side. It came with an order of fries, and Crystal promptly brought ketchup to the table without being asked. I had pulled out a file to review but my food came out in no time. Everything was exactly as ordered. The sandwich was decent and the thousand island dressing tasted homemade. The fries were good. Everything was solid but the food just wasn't amazing. However, it was a good value at a total of $12-something. The cash price was a bit lower than if paying by credit card. While I had hoped to get some work done, I felt distracted because the restaurant was clearly getting ready to close. I was in and out in 30 minutes. Just packed up my laptop and left. Would I return? Maybe. It just wasn't the leisurely meal I had anticipated given my arrival so close to closing and there was nothing that would make me want to rush back. I'd recommend checking it out for great service and their specials (e.g., all you can eat fish for Lent).

The atmosphere is one of its strongest features--European-themed décor, relaxed lighting, and a café-style layout that feels intentional rather than generic. We were seated and able to place our order immediately, which set a positive first impression. The food itself was excellent. The crepes were rich, well-filled, and balanced. Flavor-wise, it exceeded expectations. When the dishes were correct, they were genuinely impressive and easily the highlight of the visit. However, service execution significantly undermined the experience. The kitchen ticket was entered incorrectly, which delayed the entire order. By the time the mistake was recognized, the process had to restart from scratch, resulting in a prolonged wait. More concerning, one crepe was served with bananas despite a stated banana allergy. That error should not occur in a restaurant environment, particularly when allergens are involved. After the correction, another friend's food was completely forgotten, even after the reordered items were sent back. Other than the delicious food, the whole experience was a mess. In summary, the food quality and atmosphere justify a visit, but operational and service issues need improvement. Strong product, weak execution. Overall: 3/5 stars.

Personally, I enjoyed all of them but a couple of my friends wished that the Mediterranean crepe was warmer. We also tried coffees and lattes and everything was good, but I'll probably switch up my order from the pistachio latte to something else next time. We all loved the Morning and Pastrami crepes. The servers were very friendly and accommodating, and the owner brought a complimentary bottle of water to the table for our friend who arrived first which we thought was nice. I would love to see them move away from disposable plates and silverware. It not good for the environment and it also cheapens the dining experience.
