For the Chain this is quite a nice example! With its location close by the East Lancs Rd to Liverpool it's not like a motorway side little chef At all Being there on a Saturday lunch , nice background music and a nice booth I was looking forward to lunch . Food was as expected to be pub grub but done well. Crispy chips ! Home made coleslaw and really good cheese on my burger ! Good took about 15-20 minutes to arrive and was very good. The ice cream selection again is like all of these chain pubs ! But this is far better than the applewood from further down the road near Astley There is a busy pub quiz on a Tuesday night ! Worth a pub lunch trip . Large on site car park ! Bar was reasonably priced as well The only reason this was not 5 stars was on the basis of the staff in the front of house ! The manager seating us at our table ( two of us arrived before our parents ) seated us at a tiny pokey table in the bright sunshine . So I asked to be moved to be told there were no free tables ! So we sat down and as I went to the toilet. Spotted a booth not 30 seconds after being told it was full. I asked a waitress if it was reserved she said no so now we had a lovely booth! Also several of the staff were very loose lipped behind the bar !

The lyme wood farm is a great and friendly place for a bite to eat, the menu has alot to choose from such as a cavery or burger and chips and also with a children menu it can cater for the full family, Also with a relaxing atmosphere what more could you from a restaurent. The food is great quilty no matter what you order, but the main seling point of the lyme wood farm is its giant deserts from cheese cake to choclate fudge and if you dont eat it all you can wrap it up and eat it at home bu to be honset there HORRIBLE and in my opion that really lets them down they look good on show but when there on your plate they just look naff. If youre looking for a restaurent that has a play area for kids and does good food you should definlty go there.Thats why i gave the lymewood 4 stars because the deserts let it down

Discovered lymwood a few years ago and have loved it ever since. It's a great chilled atmospheric place for both family meals and leisurely outings. They even have a quiz night! Despite not knowing many answers I still had a blast! Certainly a place I shall keep going back to

Food was gross. The bar wrote down the wrong table on our order, and we ended up waiting 40 minutes to get fed. Avoid this place if you can.

The menus offer a great variety of choice, they're more than happy to customise things to your personal tastes and with the bar next door open for snacks, lighter meals and drinks, the environment is very pleasant. It's easy to find, as St Elphin's 280ft spire - the third highest of any parish church in England - provides a perfect landmark. The pub is part of an attractive clutch of old buildings next to the church, and is Grade II Listed, although unfortunately there's a large Sainsbury's plonked opposite. Inside, it feels more like a country pub than a town pub: lots of tucked away seating areas (ideal for family or social groups) give it a cosy feel, with some old beams on the ceiling providing the right atmosphere. Real ale fans are well catered for with two regulars and three guest ales, although one of the latter was off on our visit. The food menu is extensive and features traditional pub grub, with main meals, baguettes, sandwiches and baked potatoes. There's a good vegetarian selection, too, and staff were friendly and helpful. The 10 minute walk to the pub from Warrington Town Centre passes several other old pubs, also serving real ale, on Buttermarket Street and Church Street, which would make for a perfect real ale pub crawl, ending at the Ring O'Bells. There's a bus stop a few yards away to get you back to the bus station, if needed!

First of all, the place is decorated spiffingly. Literally. Spiffingly. It's astonishingly gorgeous, just my kind of quirky decor - a ceiling plastered in newspaper, lovely quaint wooden features, neutral and pastel colours... the whole thing looks like it could have come out of a Hans Christian Anderson story. There are plenty of French favourites on offer like starters of a twice baked cheese soufflé, French onion soup gratin, tartlet with spring vegetables like asparagus, mushrooms and spinach, and more unusual options such as black pudding with chicken roulade, Thai fishcakes, potted shrimp with warm brown toast and hot smoked salmon or tempura veg. I'd call it a more Modern European affair to be honest with its additional pastas and risottos (the spaghetti with salmon and lobster is just heavenly indulgence) and you can have these in small or large portions. The sharing platters are excellent value and mains like lamb shank, duck breast, baked chicken, pork trio, a filo parcel of sun-blushed tomato, goat's cheese and spinach, all of which occupy the fusion cuisine spectrum Le Frog seems to operate within. Oh and there's steaks for the super carnivorous. The side orders aren't just supporting actors here, they're stars. Veg are cooked perfectly al dente, the broccoli hollandaise is delicious, I'd highly recommend the breads with dips and you can get potatoes in many forms - French fries, Cajun fries, garlic and chive mash and even the garlic bread comes in three varieties. All of these are stonkingly good value at under £3 each! Sorry about the dreadful pun, but I'm hopping crazy for Le Frog. See if you agree.

However I was told the menu also carries a Mediterranean twist which worked in its favour!! I was unable to find my peace with the decor of the place, yes the decor is quirky but is it cool?? I wasn't so sure.....you'll have to decide yourself. The food, well again I must say if I'm honest I have had better. It lacked substance I thought. Perhaps the French have over the years had so much red wine with their food that their taste buds have been filed down. My marinated breast of chicken lacked a bit of umph!! The lemon, thymed and garlic chicken was served on roast vegetable cous cous with chive creme fraiche. I'm not sorry at all that my taste buds are absolute whores!!!!! Yes they are , they have been around the block and indulged in every fit cuisine around and had their way ever which way. This meal didn't quite do it for me. Having said that I did only try one of the mains and I'd like to try some of the other ones. Perhaps an update is needed. I'm sorry froggy it takes more than a decent decor to impress me son!!! We'll meet again and we 'll see if seconds are any better!!

Both times that we came, the food was bursting with delicious, fresh flavors. The halloumi fries had the squeaky bite they're known for. The fish and chips had a light and crispy batter and flaky fish. The cheese and potato pie was creamy comfort. Both of these dishes were recommended and ordering twice. The steak sandwich was tender and meaty. Desserts were sweet, satisfying, and left us all feeling quite content after the savoriness of our meals. We had the same server both times and she was fantastic! She was friendly and attentive, making sure that we had everything plus any extras that were needed. It's got to be said that the view here is phenomenal! The Corn Mill hangs above the River Dee, which gives spectacular views.
