My children have known no other school throughout their education, and they are thriving at Lyndon. Is it always perfect? Nope, but that is not a realistic goal for anything in life. My children don't even know how lucky they are to get daily foreign language classes, an entire staff that knows them by name, on-campus tutoring (if needed), and all the individualized attention they could ever want! As a parent, I'm obviously thrilled with the advanced curriculum, something my children see as the norm because it's all they've known. But just as important is what they DON'T experience: phone distractions, fashion-comparison pressures, classroom behavior disruptions that hinder learning, overcrowded spaces, or the risk of getting lost in the crowd. If transparency, honesty, accountability and safety are expectations you have in a school for your children, Lyndon is probably not what you are looking for in a school. Our family attended for four years (2021-2025) and observed increasing concerns, especially with the administration run by the Murdock family. Key issues of growing concerns included: -High teacher turnover, dismissed by the administration as normal but found to be worse than other schools. -Misuse or unexplained use of fundraiser money, particularly for promised security upgrades that were never completed (e.g., a buzz-in front door system). -Negligence with bullying, where a known student repeatedly bullied others and was only expelled after a serious incident, despite parent complaints. -Lack of leadership accountability, as all administrative roles and the board are filled by family members, leaving no room for independent oversight or appeals. I can't speak to non-returning students and families for other grades, but can say that with many of the parents in our child's grade that nearly HALF (of the now 3rd grade), including their older and younger siblings in other grades, left after the 2024-2025 school year due to these ongoing concerns. read more

Wow I was so amazed with my visit to Lyndon Academy. They truly focus behind the normal education standards and strive to have their students prepared for college and beyond. Their class sizes are ratio is average 10 to 1 to make sure no child left behind. They offer preview days to make sure your child feels comfortable in their new environment. My daughter is a 1st grader at Lyndon Academy, and this is her third year at the school. The program not only promotes academics but has a comprehensive approach to education. My daughter not only learns the core disciplines such as language, reading, math, and science, but she is also learning Mandarin, Spanish, art, and music. My daughter several weeks later told me that she was made to promise that it was a secrete between her and Boardman and she was to never tell me. Soon after she found out that I knew, Molly broke her promise to keep it a secrete, she started bullying my kid. My complaints to the school were swept under a rug and they kept trying to make me feel as though it was my 12 yr old daughters fault. My daughter wrote a note explaining her point of view that she was severely punished for because the school called it disrespectful. She had to sit out a week of lunch and a game for nothing. Since I worked for the school, I thought I might share a few things with anyone thinking they might want to send their child to Lyndon... First of all, there is a softball player who pays ZERO dollars to attend the school because she is an athlete and her mom "volunteers for their accounting". I did witness the gift card to athletes rumor and this is how they get away with it; They use their AMX for everything and get cash back credits for increments of $500 that they bribe parents with. They fudge their test scores by having students take the wrong grade level standardize test (like a 12 yr old take a 5th grade level). They did not pay several teachers last checks to them. They NEVER paid their second to last AD for working a month for free. They wrongly distributed the "pay it forward " funds. My child attended the school for an amount below the state required amount of scholarship money. They keep running away the good teachers/facility. Last year, at the end of the year, they almost ran away one of the best things they have going for them (teacher and a coach). The only reason they did not is because her partner that works the front desk would leave as well. Now Mr Burin's head is on the chopping block. This school is not ran well! read more

I have not had much interaction with Lyndon Academy, but I have with Top Notch Kids Care off Hwy 92 in Woodstock. The staff there is amazing. They are very sweet and real. I came in unexpected for a tour, I was looking for a place for my newborn. The facility was spotless and continued to be very clean every time I went in. The staff are very caring and compassionate. I also had the opportunity to work there for a couple weeks since I have daycare experience. I must say, Top Notch keeps the facility as clean as humanly possible. I was able to witness on a daily basis of how often the rooms are cleaned and how well each and every child was cared for. Top Notch is run with the same diligence and protocols as Lyndon for it is family owned. If you are looking for a great place for your child, either one of these facilities is recommended by someone in the profession and with 2 kids. read more

Lyndon Academy is above and beyond the best school our children have ever attended. The amazing faculty and staff encourage, coach, praise and inspire students to be the very best they can be academically, while helping them become involved and active, tri-lingual business leaders of the future. We are forever grateful to Lyndon Academy for exceeding our expectations in regards to the education of our children, with test scores that speak volumes about the curriculum and the instructors teaching it (scores in the 90th percentile nationally... amazing). Unfortunately, we relocated out of state - but the exemplary education our children received at Lyndon Academy gave them a definite advantage over others. Our son was one of under 60 new students accepted into a program that dual enrolls high school students for college classes. Yes - our son is already on his college path as a freshman, and will graduate from high school with his Associate's Degree. Our daughter, who is currently a 6th grader, transitioned smoothly into an academically-advanced middle school magnet program and is already on the same path as our son. We attribute the children's success to test scores and overall achievement at Lyndon.
