Some of the staff, however is not that good. The Literature department teachers for the most part are extremely rude, and they don't seem to care about if you learn anything as long as you pass the class. One in particular is obviously not suited to be a high school teacher at all. She would fit much better in a middle school, where she worked 2 years ago. One of the science teachers, whom I myself have not personally had as a teacher, is known for being a terrible teacher that doesn't know how to teach to where the students can understand the process. She is an on level Chemistry teacher. In all honesty with the way she teaches, students would be better off in honors chemistry or earth science. The coaches are mostly rude and pick favorites, and ignore and mistreat everyone else, even if they are doing everything they can to respect them. The school cares too much about their sports teams. So much of the funding has to go into them for the equipment and courts they have. The sports teams are terrible, and I know that without paying any attention to sports in general. The science department is under appreciated and under funded for what they put out. The electives are also under funded and under appreciated, especially the fine arts department. The kids at the school aren't great over all, but there are far worse nearby. The administration is amazing. They keep things under control. They are very LGBTQ+ accepting. They even allow a transgender man use the boys bathroom without much of an ordeal at all from what I've heard. A few teachers and quite a few coaches aren't as accepting as pretty much everyone else, even the student body.

My children don't even know how lucky they are to get daily foreign language classes, an entire staff that knows them by name, on-campus tutoring (if needed), and all the individualized attention they could ever want! As a parent, I'm obviously thrilled with the advanced curriculum, something my children see as the norm because it's all they've known. But just as important is what they DON'T experience: phone distractions, fashion-comparison pressures, classroom behavior disruptions that hinder learning, overcrowded spaces, or the risk of getting lost in the crowd. It makes me so happy that this is the schooling that they get to experience. *I read a review mentioning that funds weren't used for front door safety, but we've actually had a new front door code access system all year!

Our family attended for four years (2021-2025) and observed increasing concerns, especially with the administration run by the Murdock family. Key issues of growing concerns included: -High teacher turnover, dismissed by the administration as normal but found to be worse than other schools. -Misuse or unexplained use of fundraiser money, particularly for promised security upgrades that were never completed (e.g., a buzz-in front door system). -Negligence with bullying, where a known student repeatedly bullied others and was only expelled after a serious incident, despite parent complaints. -Lack of leadership accountability, as all administrative roles and the board are filled by family members, leaving no room for independent oversight or appeals. I can't speak to non-returning students and families for other grades, but can say that with many of the parents in our child's grade that nearly HALF (of the now 3rd grade), including their older and younger siblings in other grades, left after the 2024-2025 school year due to these ongoing concerns.

The hybrid homeschool model…read moregives our children the benefits of a strong academic community while allowing us to remain the primary decision-makers in their education. The teachers genuinely partner with parents, helping each child grow without taking away our ability to make choices about curriculum and individual educational needs. The education is hands-on, STEM-focused, and rooted in the truth that God is the Creator of all things. Students learn the traditional academic subjects, but they are taught within a biblical worldview that helps them understand how everything they are studying fits together. We have also appreciated how much time the students spend outside, exploring, creating, and learning through experience. The staff cares deeply about each student as an individual and works hard to understand how each child learns best. Just as importantly, Living Science has built a tremendous sense of community among students and families. For families looking for a Christ-centered, academically strong, hands-on alternative to traditional school, while still remaining actively involved in their children's education, Living Science Academy is an outstanding option.

In the Fall of 2021, our family began attending Living Science Academy. At that time, our two daughters, were in 6th and 7th grade. We commuted daily from Dallas, GA, approximately two hours each direction, departing at 6:30 a.m. to ensure timely arrival. As a Registered Nurse, I served as the First Aid Volunteer, or FAV, for all Living Science science trips. My responsibilities included managing student medical records, administering and logging daily medications, producing medication packing instructional videos for distribution by administration, and consulting with a Cherokee County judge regarding legal requirements for traveling with student medications. I also handled inventory, ordering, and medication check in and trip departure days. Living Science is known for its Servant Leadership program, which begins in middle school and progresses through Junior Training, Training Servant Leaders, Apprentice Servant Leader or Science Team, and culminates in the Servant Leader position. Students dedicate multiple years to this program. July 28, 2025 Parents of Servant Leaders were called to a mandatory meeting. The sole agenda item was dating. The Head of School, announced that Servant Leaders would not be permitted to date other Servant Leaders. At the time, our daughters, age 15, and age 17, were in highly monitored relationships with young gentlemen in the Servant Leader program that began in winter to early Spring of 2025. The Head of School stated that students had five days to either end those relationships or withdraw from the leadership program. Enrollment fees had been paid in winter 2025. Schedules were set and books purchased. Withdrawing from the program was the only practical option for our family, as there was insufficient time to evaluate alternative schools or leadership programs. Our family determined it was inappropriate to require our daughters to end committed relationships of six to eight months. We believe it is not the role of school administration to mandate personal relationship decisions. We homeschool in order to remain independent from erratic mandates. We are actively involved in our daughters' spiritual, educational, and developmental growth. Example, our youngest daughter, 15, has been deemed ineligible for the Servant Leader program as a straight A incoming junior because she decided to keep her boyfriend. (Her boyfriend will be living 10.5 hours away in Chicago while she lives in GA.) September 8, 2025 Our youngest daughter, 15, was denied participation in Science Team due to her relationship with a straight A, dual enrolled, college bound senior Servant Leader. She had successfully participated in Science Team alongside him in during Spring 2025. - Our request to attend a board meeting was denied. -Our request for board meeting minutes from January, March, and June 2025, as well as minutes from the prior year when the previous female held a seat, was also denied. -Our request to meet with two specific board members that we knew and trusted were denied. ***No female members currently serve on the board, though at least one female served in ALL of the prior years. The Head of School's wife stated she was not permitted to serve on the board despite vacant seats and a desperate need for bylaw revisions. Our family completed the 2025 to 2026 academic year. Our oldest daughter graduated. Our youngest daughter is attempting to pick up the pieces of her shattered high school career. ***This statement reflects only a portion of our family's experiences. I know the place can become dirty from games on Friday night but sometimes my son goes to train on a Monday or Tuesday and it looks as if it was right after the game. Now I can't help it that much but maybe some staff to clean up would help. Overall good place to train and good school but just a bit dirty.

I went to this school, and I can safely say this place was awful. The teachers have no respect for…read morethe students, not even the quiet kids who patently do their work. The school lies to the kids and says stuff like "you must have at minimum 7 AP classes to graduate" when that is frankly bullshit, and multiple of the teachers ignore students with IEP's. A math teacher at this school who I will call "Mrs. Brunch" took me into the hallway every single day, sophomore year, to demand I apologize to her for no reason and scream I'm wasting class time. She sent my mother 4 emails when I had the hiccups in her class stating "i was purposly disruptive" and demanded I get my meds changed becuse "they were causing my hiccups." She also reported me to the office more times when I could count. The only reason I finished that class with an A is becuse she couldn't fail me without proof, and I did all my work. The chorus teacher verbally abuses kids to tears, the band directors make the band kids stand in the sun till they PASS OUT, and racism runs rampant among teachers and students. I can't tell you if the other schools in the area are better, but the one good thing I can say about this place is that there isn't much open and outward bullying, and most students respect one another. If you ask any student at this school, they will either say they hate this place or they will lie out of fear.

If you do send your kids here and the they're buying lunch, just know that the kids are going to try to go in-front of them even if you try to go back in front. And the lunch room is pretty loud, even though our grade was told to not be very loud, especially in a cafeteria. Second, the kids here say some bad words that they shouldn't say. They sometimes talk about inappropriate things too, but I don't see it happening around the teachers so I could see how that hasn't been fixed. Third, the lunch menu coordinators could maybe keep in mind that some people don't eat pork/cheese/tomatoes or are allergic, and they have a low spice tolerance. There was a day when there was spicy chicken and a sandwich that had the three ingredients I said above, and I couldn't really eat anything that day because of that. Fourth, some of the bus stuff could be improved too. Someone on my bus was eating some food and we couldn't use our phones. It also seemed like everyone wanted to be in their reputation era and not care about what anyone else cared about because this has happened for almost two weeks now. I would also like to say that this school has amazing teachers who try their hardest and are fun. They are super cool and I don't blame them but I also don't blame the kids because school is to learn, even for some people who have been here for 2+ years. There are definitely some things that could be improved though. Thank you for reading! I hope this helped you consider sending your child to this school. These are just things to look out for when/ if you send your child to this school.
