Lyndon, Sherria, and staff made what I expected to be a horrible experience an easy, almost healing experience for me.

I filed a bankruptcy in 2017 with Adam Weiner. The level of experience, kindness, and…read moreresponsiveness of his office is unmatched. There are several options in the Portland metro, but the difference with Adam's law firms and others is that he is not here to sell you on something, but to help you navigate a difficult time and to give you knowledge about better options for the future. His rates were reasonable, and although I borrowed money to pay the whole fee at the time, he does take payments, as I recall. His office was very quick at responding to any questions or concerns. The reason for this late review is that, unfortunately, my family made a series of mistakes that landed us back in bankruptcy. Even worse, I let my embarrassment over our situation prevent us from choosing this office again and going with a much less capable firm. Don't make my mistake. Adam Weiner's office is the one you want, hands down. Having been through two bankruptcies, I have to say that this is the one I recommend to friends and family. They are very organized in setting you up for filing, treat you with respect, and help you navigate what can be a pretty overwhelming process. A bad law firm makes bankruptcy feel more stressful. With Adam Weiner every week it gets easier and easier and you'll end up feeling like you have a fresh start and were treated well by him.

Bankruptcy is scary. I'd been the sole source of income for my wife and myself for some time, only…read moreto have my job suddenly end, leaving us both scrambling. After months of living off our meager savings and credit cards, we finally found enough work to get by, but by then our debt had become overwhelming, endangering any future we might have been able to build. So, scary as it was, bankruptcy seemed to be the best choice for our future financial well-being. I reached out to Adam because of a trusted referral, and he and his team were absolutely stellar. Very open, very kind, very friendly, very knowledgeable (and very affordable), I could not have asked for better support throughout the whole process. The system has these things built in to help people in precarious situations, and we should take advantage of them when we need to. I cannot recommend a better law office to do that with than Adam's. He is one of the good ones.

He took the time to explain everything clearly, worked with my budget, and made a stressful process feel manageable. He delivered on everything he said he would and succeeded in every outcome I was hoping for. His pricing was very reasonable, and I never felt pressured or judged--only supported. I truly couldn't have asked for anyone better, and I'm extremely grateful for his time, expertise, and dedication. If you're looking for someone who will actually work with you and have your back, Scot Elliot is the attorney to call. Five stars without hesitation.

He helped me with a business contract that I was very nervous about signing, and it helped tremendously that he carefully explained all aspects of the situation and my legal rights and responsibilities to me. I was impressed with his knowledge, and the way that he took all my questions and fears seriously, answering each concern thoughtfully rather than being dismissive. Some time after that, I recommended him to a friend who was going through bankruptcy and wasn't happy with the lawyer she'd been to already. She switched to Scot, and was very happy that she did. Her bankruptcy went through fine with Scot's help. I ended up recommending Scot to a second friend this year who needed help with a landlord/tenant issue. After going to another lawyer who laughed my friend out of the office, basically telling him nobody cared about his legal issue, I suggested he go see Scot. Scot took my friend's case seriously, and was able to help my friend and the involved party reach a compromise without having to go to court. Scot is very kind, intelligent, and thorough. He is, I believe, one of those genuinely good people in the world, of which there are too few.
