Oh my goodness, this park is gold. We were there for the playground, but there was a dog park, squash court, pond with a trail around it, baseball diamond, and I'm pretty sure I saw a skate park (but I might be crazy and imagining things). Even with a baseball game going on, there was ample parking. So, onto the playground. It had that pleasant recycled rubber on the ground, so it wasn't too hard or too hot. It had several decent sized structures, plus swings and random little structures. Rock climbing walls and little "mountains" to climb topped it all off. So happy we stumbled upon this gem on our vacation!

Love that there are three different areas to take dogs! Just moved here and have been searching for a good dog park, look no further! They have different mazes and places for owners to sit along with water and poopie bags. We will definitely be coming back.

There is a small dog and a large dog area. It just opened yesterday but all of the people bringing their dogs seemed very nice. I have a Bichon so I went to the small dog area. All of the owners we very nice. I did look in the large dog area and all the owners appeared very responsible. Overall, a nice social outing with Toby Wan Kenobi. I just hope that all the nice people of PSL people continue to bring their dogs rather than the latter type of individuals in PSL. The one thing I do not like is you have to drive along a gravel path to get to the dog park. Please pave this path!!!!!

The District paid to prepare the land for construction and built the playground. In 2012, the School District allowed the lease agreement to expire and the Port St. Lucie Parks and Recreation Department assumed maintenance responsibilities for the 28 acre property. After holding meetings with the public the city decided to turn the land into a park. Winterlakes Park opened on January 23, 2021 becoming the largest park in Port St. Lucie. Today Winterlakes Park is a well designed park with many popular recreational amenities for residents and visitors of the Winterlakes neighborhood and the Torino area. During my visit I was impressed by how much this park has to offer. There is a baseball field, covered basketball court, dog park with sections for small and large dogs, a paved exercise walkway with fitness stations, picnic pavilions with tables, pickleball court, shade covered playground, soccer field, softball field, tennis court, sand volleyball court, fishing deck on the lake, and restrooms. All of the facilities in the park are meticulously maintained and the park still looks brand new. As I walked the park on the exercise trail I noticed a summer camp using the playground, pups playing in the dog park, and a large number of people enjoying the shaded basketball court. There is so much to do in this park, there is truly something for everyone to enjoy.

Located at the end of Winterlakes Park, a new community park in northern Port St. Lucie, FL. Lots of parking very close to the dog park areas, so you don't have to wander through the whole community park to find the dog area. Fences are high, and the gate lock is also high, so small children cannot get in and out at will. The parks have seating areas for pet owners, and some are under cover, so that's nice when there's a lot of sunshine. The parks seem well well-maintained and are not crowded, possibly because there isn't a lot of publicity about them yet.

We come here from time to time and its a great place to come and let your little furry ones stretch their legs and give you time to also do the same. I have noticed that during the day place is empty and you can take your dog to any area, one tip is if there is other areas that are empty let dogs be on their own and not put them all together that way owners can relax :) LOL yea we all know that one dog. Definitely a great park for dogs and right to it there is a playground and also to do other activities. Def a gem in the Torino area! Thanks City of PSL

With the one for the small be in the biggest of the three? All three parks are basically identical as they are all longer than they are wide and they all have a nice concrete pathway with double-gated entries on both ends. They have a couple benches and a nice shaded picnic table area for seating. They have a nice water feature as well as poop bag dispensers and trash cans. I'm still working on the fact that the largest of the three Parks is the one for the small dogs? There is a large parking lot right next to the dog parks

Some of the wildlife that had been seen along the trail include foxes, turtles, black indigo snakes, and butterflies. Some of th plants you will find here are sweetbay magnolias, dahoon hollies with red berries, white water lily, and tarflowers. Amenities at the trail include restrooms, pavilions with picnic tables, water fountains, and trail maps. The north track is a 1.1 mile loop trail that goes through scrub habitat around wetlands and through sandy pine trails. This is the trail that takes you to the dog park. In 2017 Stuart completed a water restoration project involving 153 acres of wetlands that created a fresh water and tidal wetland that cleans storm water run off and improves water quality in the St. Lucie estuary. It improves the health of the ecosystem. The water in the ponds remove pollutants and provide a habitat for wildlife. The project also added 1/3 of a mile to the nature trails. The southern trail requires you to cross over roads and is not very clearly marked. This trail goes through a pine woods habitat. I only had time to visit the north trail and had a pleasant walk. If I lived nearby I would be a regular visitor. I applaud Stuart for working to preserve the wetlands to ensure the health of the nearby St. Lucie River.

The North Trail, in my opinion is better. There isn't a lot of shade and most of it is sugar sand, but the sand isn't super soft so it's not that bad to walk on. It's impossible to get lost here. There are numbered markers everywhere along the walking path. There's also a small dog park near the parking lot with different sections for large and small dogs. Now, the South Trail is just bizarre. The first part of it runs along a busy road. Then you have to cross a busy street. Kinda strange, no? Then it loops around and you're in back of someone's house. There's also a lot of glass bottles people have thrown so be careful if you bring your dog here. Guess what? After that there's a SECOND busy road you have to cross. Well now I was just annoyed but the trail got better after that. If that section was longer, I would have enjoyed this trail more but it was wasn't long at all. All in all, I think the North Trail is a lot better, it's quieter and you don't have to cross any streets during your walk.
