The dog park has some old really cool trees and some palm trees with nice places to sit underneath them. The ground covering is mostly grass and then some sand. There is a poop bag dispenser and trash can as well as a nice water area with some plastic pools. Fair amount of people (not "just" a dog beach), and as stated previously, never A LOT of dogs. Doesn't feel packed like other dog beaches, and no designated "times" or days for the dog beach (unlike the dog beach at Spanish River Park in Boca). Most people seem aware of their surroundings, but of course you'll meet a difficult owner or nasty dog every now and again. Overall I haven't had any problems (that often come with off-leash areas). Parking seems easy to find no matter what time of the day (couple of parking lots, and lots of street parking), and is FREE!! The water is usually clean and free of seaweed and sea pests. I let her run and play and in her nature she was in the bushes hunting. I was watching her, playing with her, and keeping her close. She was brought into the VET ER today after she was playing in the bushes hunting and came face to face with an extremely deadly and dangerous Bufo toad. EXTREMELY TOXIC TO ALL DOGS. She was having horrible seizures, foaming at the mouth and hyperventilating. If I wasn't watching her at this "Safe & Fanced in" dog park she would've died. I know there's very little you can do about them showing up. But just the simple fact it lives there, probably 20 dogs came in a out in that hour I was there is extremely dangerous. WATCH YOUR PET. We arrived early and staked our spot in the shade under mangroves. My kids take their kayaks out to explore the mangrove islands and paddle around. It's so protected without currents pulling them out or speeding boats close by, which is such wonderful freedom for them. This is a popular spot on the weekends, and some folks bring out tents and equipment for the whole day. This is a perfect first-time snorkeling spot for beginners, because the water is so shallow. We swam with a sea turtle this time. Even not at high tide, it's still a lovely way to be on saltwater without waves or seaweed. It seems that dogs and fires are welcome.

The boardwalk was closed for repairs so we had to walk thru the sand with our stuff (coolers etc). Part of the beach was on a small like hill, you had to jump down to get towards the water which was annoying. The beach was filled with seaweed. I did like there was a lifeguard on duty. It wasn't crowded for a Sunday. Probably won't be back to this one.

It's named after Mary Brandon, a local politician who served on the city's Parks and Recreation Commission in the 1960s. Established in 1999, this park holds the distinction of being the first dog park in the City of West Palm Beach. It features two separate fenced areas--one for small dogs (25 pounds and under) and another for larger dogs. Amenities include dog-friendly water fountains, play tunnels, as well as plenty of chairs, benches, and tables for owners to relax. In July 2019, the city unveiled a brand-new playground, replacing older equipment with updated, shade-covered slides and climbing structures. In addition to the dog park and playground, the park also offers picnic pavilions, a baseball field, restrooms, and a large open green space that's perfect for running around or getting some exercise. I really appreciate how the city created a space that caters to both kids and dogs. It's a welcoming, versatile park that serves the neighborhood well--perfect for a casual afternoon outdoors. I'd definitely come back, especially if I brought my dog or just wanted a quiet place to unwind outside for a while.

There is a nice playground area with a structure, benches, a softball field, a basketball court, a walking path, and open grass to run around in. For the pet owner, there are two dog "parks"/dog run areas for differing size dogs that are fenced in. When we stopped by, there was only one other car parked in the lot. It was lovely weather so I was surprised that more people were not taking advantage of the first sunny day in a while. There are some large old trees providing shade, too. We'd be here often if we lived in the neighborhood.

PGA National Park is a 35 acre public recreational park in Palm Beach Gardens. In the mid-1980s the city negotiated with developers during the construction of the PGA National residential and golf course community. As part of the 1985 master development agreement, this land was preserved as public green space, so that local residents would have a place to enjoy the outdoors during the area's rapid growth. Located just off Northlake Boulevard and Ryder Cup Boulevard, the park has become an important community gathering place for outdoor recreation. Over the years, the city has continued to expand the park's amenities. Today it features three large multi purpose athletic fields for soccer, football, and lacrosse, along with tennis courts, basketball courts with varying rim heights for different age groups, a playground, a mini putting green, picnic pavilions, and a fishing dock overlooking the surrounding lake. The day I visited, the park was bustling with activity. A football game was underway on one of the fields, families were gathered under the pavilions, and others were out enjoying the walking paths and playground. It was great to see so many people making use of the park. Thanks to the city having the foresight to preserve this land decades ago instead of becoming another development, it remains a place where the community can play and enjoy a little bit of nature in the middle of a city.

We stopped by on a weekday and the park was pretty and relaxing. Not too many people on the couple of trails we did. The observation tower is closed but they still have a nice boardwalk up to that area that makes for a great walk! It's pretty highly elevated for Florida - kind of impressive in person! Entry is $6 per car, and the lady provided a map and recommended her favorite trail. We checked that trail out as well (the white trail), but the height of the observation tower trail was really the star! We decided to drive around after doing both trails, and we saw their campgrounds. So surprising at how busy this place was! It seemed there was hardly an empty spot! Must be a happening place to camp! We'd definitely return for more adventures, as this is a cool park!

But at the risk of breaking a hip it was more than worth it. Imagine sitting on the beach with the waves coming in and the breeze blowing as you relax petting your dog!! It's amazing how fast a couple of hours can go by. By the way parking at the beach in Florida is nowhere near as hard or complicated as it is in California!!
