You can exercise by walking a path that runs the perimeter of the lake. Other park amenities include grills, pavilions, picnic tables, and a playground. You can't swim in the lake but people use it for RC boat racing. The lake is stocked so it is a popular fishing spot. I saw quite a bit of wildlife during my visit including a heron, turtles, and a young alligator. This is a really beautiful spot to cook out, picnic, fish, or just take a stroll. As I was leaving I saw someone walking their dog right next to the edge of the water. I cannot not emphasize enough that this is not a smart thing to do. At a park in Davie a woman was killed doing the same thing. An alligator attacked her dogs and she was killed trying to save them. Alligators will not normally attack people but they have been known to go for dogs at the waters edge. I definitely saw alligator activity at this lake. Children and pets should not be near the edge of water where there could possibly be alligators. Prevent another tragedy and stay on the path.

This park also has free parking, a restroom and picnic pavilion but it is not lifeguarded. Walton Rocks Beach is also an area of archeological importance. More than 1,200 fossils including prehistoric horse teeth dating to 12,000 years ago and older have been found along the shores of this beach. Whether you are here to hunt fossils or just enjoy a day out with your best four legged friend, Walton Rocks Beach natural beauty, soft sand, and gentle waves is sure to delight.

When I was there, I saw several sports teams practicing, as well as what appeared to be a CrossFit group working out. I went specifically for the walking trails, I had high expectations, they fell a little short. I expected more and longer trails. There were a lot of signs on the paths but most were very faded and you could barely read them. This park is great for families. If you live in the area and have children, I bet they are practices and games are held at this park.

All three parks are basically identical as they are all longer than they are wide and they all have a nice concrete pathway with double-gated entries on both ends. They have a couple benches and a nice shaded picnic table area for seating. They have a nice water feature as well as poop bag dispensers and trash cans. Peck Lake Park is located south of the St. Lucie Inlet. When you drive in to the park there is a…read morepaved loop road lined with picnic pavilions and grills. There is also a restroom. At the back of the loop is a hiking trail that leads you through mangroves to the intracoastal waterway which runs between the park and the Hobe Sound Wildlife Refuge. The walk is about 15 minutes each way. Part of the path is gravel and part of it is an elevated wooden boardwalk that takes you over the wetlands. The 1/2 mile trail takes you through mesic flat woods, hard woods, mangrove swamps., and brackish slough. You cross over a spoil island that was created from the dredging of the intracoastal. There are interpretive signs along the way providing information on the Ais who were the Native people in this area thousands of years ago, and the plants and animals in the park. The park is a good place to spot birds during the spring and fall migration. You can find American Redstarts and Common Yellowthroats and Spotted Sandpipers along the shore in the winter.

Pierce, I spotted this lovely neighborhood park in the Swan Park neighborhood of Port St. Lucie. At 6.2 acres it is much larger than your typical neighborhood park. Swan Community Park has three lighted soccer fields and a fenced tot playground with swings. This park is the home of the Port St. Lucie Soccer Club. The park is open every day from 10 AM to 8 PM. One interesting thing I noticed about this park is that it had the typical men and women's restroom but it also had another one stall stand alone restroom that anyone can use. I love that the park offers this family restroom that allow parents to comfortably accompany their child to the bathroom for added safety.
