My husband and I met Sona during an estate planning class offered by the Pump Station when we were due with our son. Fast forward to his 1st birthday and we still hadn't setup our will or trust! YIKES! We knew we wanted to work with Sona as she was so helpful, warm, and knowledgeable when we had met her. My husband and I wanted to make sure our daughter had named legal guardians and that our estate would be passed on smoothly in the event one or both of us is gone. It was hard to think about, but we knew we had to do it having heard some horror stories about probate. I thought about trying to do it myself, but knew we'd be safer and more taken care of in the event of disaster by a professional. We were referred by a friend, attended a workshop Sona ran about setting up a trust first, and then made an appointment to go to the office. Sona was warm and friendly and my two year old was enthusiastically welcomed by the whole office and sat in Sona's lap (when she wasn't playing with the office provided legos on the floor). The office itself is lovely and there were homemade cookies and jars full of candy... the spoonful of sugar definitely helped the medicine go down. Sona was fast, incredibly knowledgeable, and easy to understand. The entire process (for us anyway) was some worksheets done at home and then three visits of roughly an hour each. She added provisions to the trust we created that I never would have thought of on my own, based on what she had created for her own children. If you have young children and haven't made a will and named guardians because you were intimidated by the process, or were worried about finding childcare during an appointment, this is the office to call. Sona is an incredible lawyer but she's also a mom and that really helps (especially when you're in the middle of serious legal discussions and someone has to urgently "go potty").
