There is so much for kids to do here. My grandkids loved it. We easily spent 4 to 5hours here and they wanted to stay longer. There are 2 floors of different stations for kids to play at and there's more stuff outside. There's also a pretty affordable gift shop. The splash pad was awesome. Absolutely love Lynn Meadows Discovery Center! We've taken the kids every time we're in Biloxi, MS. There's just countless hands-on activities for everyone to enjoy, from the moment you step foot onto the property. I said step foot on the property because there are lots of outdoors activities before you even walk inside the building. There's fun treehouses, a bubble science activity, and more. Once you're inside, there's train activities, the vet, space exploration, arts and crafts, climbing, shopping, science experiments, and so much more! If you're in the area, this is a must try if you have children with you. You will love all the various activities they have in store for you! read more

This center is amazing! We came here a few times on our trip to Waveland, MS. We didn't mind the scenic drive. My son had a wonderful time. He's only 3, and I think the sweet spot is around 6. So much imaginative play opportunities. This is a real treasure. read more

This is such a hidden treasure on the Coast! So much fun packed into a unsuspecting and quirky museum. If you live on the coast with kids a membership is such a worthwhile investment. It is so inexpensive and a great place for all ages. Even as an adult, I enjoy and learn from the museum. They continually have relevant events and special weeks/days throughout the year with themed celebrations and activities. As soon as you child is mobile, this would be a fun museum to visit regularly. We go once a week and spend an hour or two in one of the many themed rooms/areas and I don't see my child ever tiring of visiting here. There is an outdoor playground, outside "kids street" mini town, and inside there is a dedicated area for younger children, and themed areas including STEM, outer space, grocery, crafts, and many more. Now keep in mind that membership is CHEAP so don't expect the latest and greatest toys, activities, and technology. Cleanliness isn't stellar but I have never had any issues here with staff, hygiene, or my child being bored. I would highly recommend a membership here over the aquarium! So much more to do for all ages and a great rainy day activity. read more

This place is absolutely wonderful!! My youngest was drawing tree houses for days after visiting this location. My husband randomly found this place online while looking for things to do in Biloxi while we were visiting. We decided to visit during the hours where you can get in for $3 each and I'm so glad we did! This place is MAGICAL. Seriously, the best children's museum I have ever been to. Even my husband and I were having a ball and we aren't children! Each of the rooms has a theme. There's a train room, an airplane room, a construction room, a music room, a grocery store room, a newcast room, a science room, an art room...and the list goes on and on. There is SO MUCH to explore here. There's also a thing in the middle that the kids can crawl up and down on. Oh! and there's an outdoor "cooking" area too. After all that check out the outdoor train, outdoor house, and 3 outdoor tree houses. Seriously magical you guys. My kids still talk about this place. I would go back in a heartbeat. read more

Outside is just as fun as inside - playing out there was my daughter's favorite part. I just wish the "centers" inside were bit bigger. For example, the Grocery Store could NOT accommodate the amount of kids playing - & we were visiting on a very empty day. read more

LOVE Lynn Meadows!! It's such a fun place for the kiddies to explore, discover and imagine. There's a couple of large train tables which is a huge hit for my little boy. A little arts and craft room with a themed activity to do is always fun for my daughter. I think the favorite has to be the "grocery store" complete with canned and boxed foods, produce and even a seafood counter. All of the children love "shopping" and taking turns being the cashier. The tree houses outdoors are enormous and it's nice and shady out there...a plus in the Mississippi heat. Spend a day with your kids there, you'll be glad that you did! read more

This is a great place to take the kids to run and play. Having lived all over this museum is somewhat small compared others we have been to, which can make it hard at busy times of the week. If you live in the area I highly recommend getting an annual pass, as it can get pricey if you plan to go more than once a year. It would be worth it as it is a great indoor place to play. They also provide "Bear Club" for younger children. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents in the area and give little ones time to have organized play during the week. Overall, this is a well maintained, fun and engaging place to play. Enjoy! read more

Just wanted to thank LMDC for making admission cheaper on Louisiana residents due to Hurricane Ida. After having no power for days we left for Gulfport over the weekend and stopped by with our little ones. We loved it! So much for the kids to do, seeing them enjoy theirselves helped us get our minds off of everything we have going on. Very clean, employees were kind. We hope to return one day. This place was great; we went there last week for the first time. Spent 3 hours there and when I told my kids it was time to go they didnt want to leave. I did end up leaving with a membership. Totally recommend this place , so much for the little ones and a great place for rainy days or even hot days. Interactive, enjoyable and imaginative play for kids and the kids at heart. My family and I went on a quick weekend trip to Biloxi/Gulfport and found this gem. Aside from spending a couple hours catching some rays and rollin' around in the sand, it was fun to take a break from all of that and spend some time in this super family-friendly activity center. I have been to many children's museums in my day, but because of the outdoor tree-houses & playhouses and huge area to run around, this place has definitely risen to my top 3. The setting was very serene with all the trees, greenery and open space outdoors. Many of the children's museums I have been to in the past offered little to no outdoor area for play. Indoors presented even more interactive play that even myself and my husband got to enjoy with our daughter: a pretend airplane with moveable steering & gears, a grocery store, a newsroom, a vet clinic and so much more. There were 2 stories of endless fun for the whole family. Come here, re-live your childhood and feel like a kid again; I most certainly did! read more

An eye catching brochure was all it took. On a whim, my seven year old and I spent a relaxing weekend in Gulfport. I have been to Children's Museum's in Los Angeles and New Orleans. I have to admit my expectations were high. The Lynn Meadows Discovery Center was no disappointment. I loved the atmosphere and the grounds are so inviting, there are large trees and treehouses. It was nice as we played insde for awhile and then went outside to soak in the sun and then back inside, The exibits were wonderful i especially enjoyed the hotel and the florist inside the grocery. John loved the climbing sculpture in the middle of the center. I would recommend this activity to anyone with children...and bring a picnic there are tables by the tree houses..... read more

A wonderful children's museum and epic playground where kids and their imaginations run free. It's a complete little world. Drama productions. Cooking classes for adults. Monumental playground emporium and discovery center for children, with crafts and classes of all kinds. It's like a little city. But it's better-run and better-managed than a city. Just recently I was allowed to use the amazing kitchen at Lynn Meadows for a cookoff event for local military personnel (part of a TV show I'm producing in the area). Members of a high-flying Air Force squadron went head to head to settle once and for all the burning question: "which pilot makes the best jambalaya?" The Lynn Meadows staff was very gracious and helpful. Wait a minute. As I write this, I notice that the word "very" just doesn't cut it. Seems inadequate. I almost wrote "extremely", but that, too, isn't enough. The only thing I can think of is "epic"... so perhaps it should be "they were epicly gracious." It's not a word, I know, but sometimes you've got to uncork the neologisms to make your point -- in this case a high fallutin' new adverb. Susie, Cindy, Claudia, and Sonja, thank you so much for your courtesy, high spirits, excellent management, and hospitality. You allowed us to throw an event for military families that really resonated. I've gotten so much terrific feedback. And here are the two main themes of the feedback: 1. "thank you so much for that cookoff; you have no idea what it did for squadron morale." 2. "that Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is awesome -- so clean, well run, and a great place to be. I just wish they had condominiums here so I could move in." read more

Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is a great place to take your kids. It is well designed, interactive and air conditioned. Our kids (both under 10) spent hours exploring and playing at the exhibits which included a Vet's office (animal care, not soldiers), a train, fishing boat, television studio, green screen kayaking monitor, three story open air crawling structure, early 1900s dress up station, country store and more. It is clean, spacious and the staff are friendly. Outside the main building the grounds are well tended and there is plenty of space for the kids to run and play if it isn't hotter than the surface of the sun and more humid than a 1950s laundry shop. If you find yourself in Gulfport Mississippi ask why, then head to Lynn Meadows if you need several hours of fun to distract your youngsters from the fact that you brought them to Gulfport. read more

My son loves this place; we had to get a membership! There is a lot of room to run around and explore.

This place was a life-saver for us during a rainy summer day. We made the drive over from Bay St. Louis and are so glad we did. I took two 7 year olds (one boy and one girl). It was off and on raining so we were able to enjoy all of the outdoor space that the center has to offer. Don't miss the musical instruments down by the water (read the book posted along the way - so cute!) and definitely don't miss the tree houses next to the indoor space entrance. We spent a lot of time in them. Once you get inside, there are countless activities to do. Our favorites were the vet area downstairs, the grocery store, the game show area and the science room upstairs by the restrooms (this is tucked away but make sure to find it! I think we spent an hour in this room alone!). The center was extremely responsible during this COVID-19 time as there were wipes and hand sanitizer by every separate "exhibit" as well as staff members walking around spraying down exhibits after they had been used. I would recommend heading here 10/10 times - it was a blast! And the gifts at the entrance/exit were very reasonably priced as well. Go enjoy yourselves and let your kids run some energy off because it is all fenced in outside too :) read more

We were in town for Labor Day weekend. We had time for one last sight. We chose to go to Lynn Meadows Discovery Center. We have a 4 and 6 years old and they always love places like this. My children loved it and had a great time. Very neat and clean considering kids come in there and tear the place apart. It is a good way to burn an hour or more if you hang out a while. I don't want to compare it the Discovery Center in Little Rock Arkansas but if you have been there it is much smaller. Still a very nice place to take the kids. read more

An imagination dream world! Out of all the hands on children's museum's i've visited this was on of the best! They have a large gated area reserved for kids 4 and under (really for kids 1 & younger), which has a Playhouse, blocks, puzzles and rocking horses. The remainder of the exhibits for the older kids are creative, colorful and have great attention to detail. Not only is there a train for the kids to play and explore, there is a ticket booth, the area where the conductor sits, shovels to load coal and (actual play coal!), and a food car set up with play food and chair and table. On the outside of the train there are hats and luggage and clothes for kids to fully pretend they are either working or about to embark on their own journey. The other exhibits had equal attention to detail including a bed and breakfast, grocery store, airplane and travel destination and a television studio. There is so much to see and do, kids won't realize they are learning. My most favorite part was the room geared to teaching kids about children with disabilities. They had small wheelchairs and sensory activities to allow your child to put themselves in someone else's shoes. A great place for hours of fun. We will definitely be back when we are visiting in the future! read more

So glad we found this place! It truly is a hidden gem! I have an 8-year old and an 11-year old and they both had a great time at this children's museum. There's a great variety of different rooms to explore. Lots of pretend play, but also a room with some science-related games. I especially liked the wheelchair basketball area. It gave kids a sense of what it was like to have a physical disability. There were also some amazing treehouses out back that kids could explore. We went at 3:00 pm for the $3 discounted admission and had plenty of time to look around before they closed at 5:00pm . But even the $8 admission is totally worth it when you get inside and see how well done it is. read more

We love coming here and have been for a few years! It is fun for all my boys - ages 9, 5, and 10 months. the 9 year old is just about to age out of some of the fun but still likes climbing the rope tower inside and the tree houses outside. read more

The museum is a very family friendly environment but not appropriate for kids older than 11-12. We had a 13, 12, 11, 10 and 9 yr old and after viewing the facility they were ready to go. Smaller kids would love it but it's not enough to keep them busy. read more

Such a wonderful place for children and parents to play and learn together. I took my 16 month old and she loved it! There were lots of things she was still too small to do, so I'm excited to take her back when she's older/bigger. The other parents and very nice and courteous of their children. We enjoyed the huge outdoor area and all of the shade it provided. It's a little pricey, but so worth it when you see how much your child is enjoying herself. They also have lots of involvement in the community, which creates more things for your children to do. read more
