Great 'bedside' manner, straight-talking and extremely thorough in their diagnoses. They take great care of your pets and I have always found their service to be first class. I particularly like the fact that they do not prolong treatment just for the sake of it and whilst medication can be expensive they do not overdo things and keep having you back for more. Highly recommended.

I dropped him off at 9 am, at 11.30 am I got a call to say he had died. You can imagine my shock and horror at the news, which I am still trying to understand. I went to collect him from the vets and was told that he must have had an underlying heart problem bearing in mind that he had been to the vets before and always had been proclaimed healthy, also his heart was checked before the operation. Apparently, 3 vets tried to save him but to no avail. I spoke to the vet that carried out the operation and she was visibly upset. We were looking for a place where he could interact with other dogs as he is quite a social character (sometimes too social!). We found Copied Hall Kennels online and liked what we saw in their website, photos and testimonials. We did not mind the 1 and half hour drive there as long as we where giving our dog a safe and fun experience. When the day to leave our dog finally arrived we where very impressed by the grand entrance gates and the charming cottage surrounded by land. The lady at reception was nice enough (even if looked a bit inexperienced). We asked to see the kennels, as we did not have a chance to visit the place before hand. That was when things started to disappoint. We were taken to see the kennels, which included a small-enclosed area where the dogs "would interact and be running free." This area could only be seen through a closed fenced gate.We were taken to see the piece of land where they are exercised only once a day, which is much smaller than it looked from their website. Actually, some of land advertised in their website are not even used for the dogs. Despite not being 100% satisfied with the place, we left him there thinking that the interaction with other dogs would be enough entertainment. We left our number and email and advised that we were in the country and if anything happened to give us a call. A week later we went back to collect our dog and were informed then (and ONLY then) that he had been in a scuffle with another dog and had been hurt. The lady said that they had trouble putting him in the kennel and that he would make a fuss and could have hurt himself. My dog had an inch cut on his head and another one dangerously close to his eye. To add insult to injury, we were informed that our dog was not welcomed there again as he was not fit for their kennels. I was so stunned that I did not know what to say. Our dog is well socialised and I am sure he did not attack any dog. When I said to the lady that he was crated trained and found strange that he had made a fuss going in the kennel, her response was to laugh and say, "how strange... it is a pointer thing". I still don't know if another dog hurt him or if that happened when he was forced into the kennel. It is clear that people working at Copied Hall Kennels do not have a basic level of training; which is simply not acceptable when running a boarding kennel. Apart from that, my dog had lost a lot of weight and looked extremely depressed. I do not recommend this kennel to anyone; in fact I would avoid it.
