Once you get your dates, everything can be done online. NorCal Moto does an excellent job in keeping you informed with emails, materials and requirements. You're in great hands with Cynthia Gutierrez because she is incredibly responsive and helpful. The training class has gear requirements for your own safety, so please follow their guidelines. It truly is not about inconvenience but it's to ensure that you are riding safely and to protect from unnecessary injuries. The class reading materials and quizzes are very helpful and the scores are part of your success. That data on motorcycle riding is very serious as you will discover. This also applies in the riding portion of your class, especially for beginners. I have previous riding experience, but this class forces you to think/process more critically to avoid bad habits. We all need practice as your skills can diminish over the years. The riding portion of the class is incredibly fun and supportive. Our instructors - Marcelo and Dan - are both passionate in helping you learn. You are going to make mistakes but the coaching is just tremendous. You will experience challenges but that's how you will learn to be (smooth) in your approach. You will learn to be more vigilant as required for real street riding... I dealt with a customer service lady called Veronica, asked her for a 50% refund for my experience as that instructor did not admit me in 2nd day because I was wearing very thick wide pants. Gotta give a fair warning though. The bikes are in so-so condition. There's one bike, a blue one, numbered 38, that is a pain in the ass. Do not go for the pretty blue bikes, as we all do, and hence they have the most mileage and need more maintenance. Go for the little or "ugly" Grey ones, those ride well. My first day I got on a grey one. Perfect, I felt like champ. Second field day, I got a blue pretty one, but it kept dying on neutral. I understand I'm the inexperienced one, and that it may have been me who was messing it up, but there was a significant difference between the two bikes. My bf took the class a month before I did, and he also rode a blue bike, which he said was "troublesome." Maybe he was trying to make me feel nice, or maybe that one bike isn't the best to start off with. So, just a fair warning. Anyway, back to the cool stuff: the instructors are awesome! I was fortunate enough to be under the care of: Kenneth Wong, Dale Croy, and Walter Champion. Read the booklet, pay attention in the class setting: look more, push more! And as always: enjoy! COVID update: you must bring your own helmet. (It Agar Defoe them to properly disinfect between users) And one must bring a mask to wear when helmets are not being used. I have no profit conflict with you, why I spend 30 minutes make a 1 star comment if I experienced everything really good? I just want what happened bad don't happen again. If you decide to change, to improve, and make sure the same thing don't happen again, for sure I will respect you instead of arguing here. Just not joking on student in the future. For the reschedule and refund stuff, it doesn't matter that much. In the first knee down class, 80% of the students including me never attend any course before, you let everyone in, that contradict to what you said in the latest comment. And then you bet and joked on the dude who high sided his cruiser. For the discount for comment, im apologize if I remember wrong, it's 2+ years ago. But you did ask everyone aggressively on making comment. Im not a comment writing guy, only 7 comments on google and yelp in so many years. For the dispute, the coach let everyone attend the knee down class when we didn't take any of the course, so of course we thought it's not a hard limit but a suggestion. And the booking web does not block you to do so. Then, you emailed my friend says he cannot attend the course, but no reschedule or refund since it's in 2 weeks of course date. If the bank think everything is right on your side, the dispute won't be approve. All the good comments I wrote and the 5 stars are because the coach asked to and I was so new to motorcycle at the time. Now here is the reason why I changed my mind. Short version: 1. In the knee down class, the coach said "I bet this guy will crash for 5 dollar". The. That dude really high sided. The coach didn't warn of teach him but instead joking around. At that time I thought crash like that is normal and won't cause injury, because the coach acts so chill and joking around. But now I know even slow high sides can cause my friend broke his collarbone. 2. His website doesn't block you booking anything or saying anything about strictly take courses in sequence. Then he refuse to let you go to the day 2 class because you didn't go to day 1, and refuse to reschedule or refund because it's "within 2 weeks of course". 3. When I wanted to reschedule, he replies: "You lost believes in what you've liked so much? I guess I won't see you in day 3 then." See the screenshot. Coach Can is a pro rider no doubt, he is highly skilled, super fast, but I'll leave it to you whether this course worth or not. As a conclusion, I don't recommend completely new rider or someone wants to learn a lot go to this camp/course.
