Knee down
Juan R.

These classes motivate me to push myself on my motorcycle journey. I have taken all 3 cornering classes and they are beyond amazing. There is so much information that I am sure I'll be taking repeats again. But the best part is how it all started to connect during the body position and knee down class. I was not able to get my knee down in class but with the technique I go drilled on and my determination I was able to get my knee down the following day on my own. I have a long way to go but look forward to retaking his classes and hopefully join him on a track day

Knee Down Class! First time!!

I can't say enough good things about the Superbike Coach program. Coach Can and his team are the absolute best. I started with his classes in January, only 2 months into my riding journey. The amount of confidence I gained on the bike after just Cornering School Day 1 was immediate and invaluable. Since then, I have taken Day 2 twice, Day 3, Knee Down, and will do Day 1 all over again later this month. So much improvement in such little time. My level of confidence & trust in myself & my bikes have skyrocketed. I just got my knee down!! Take these classes. You will not regret it.

Absolutely Transformed My Riding - Best Investment in My Skills Ever! I just completed the Superbike Coach cornering class Day 1 and I can honestly say it was one of the most valuable experiences I've had on two wheels. I've been riding sportbikes for years, but I always felt like I had a ceiling on my confidence in the corners. This class completely blew that ceiling away. The instructors are absolute legends - patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about helping riders improve. They broke down cornering technique in a way that finally made everything click. By the end of the day, I was hitting corners smoother, faster, and with way more confidence than I ever thought possible. The feedback was immediate, constructive, and personalized. No ego, just pure skill-building. If you're serious about becoming a better rider--whether you're a track day regular or just want to feel safer and more capable on twisty roads--this class is an absolute must. The value is insane for what you get. I'm already planning to come back for the next level. Huge thanks to the entire Superbike Coach team. You guys are changing lives (and saving tires) one apex at a time! Would give 10 stars if I could. Book it. You won't regret it. Scotty from Byron, CA

10/19/25 ThunderHill West track day with Superbike Coach was amazing. I was able to compare last year picture and what a difference! Superbike Coach will take you from parking lot to track ready while being safe, increasing confidence (and looking cool!). It's a must course if you are serious about riding. Thank you Coach Can and his team!

Update! I completed day 3 of the cornering class. The difference amazing! I really can't say enough about these classes. The ability of Coach to not only explain but to demonstrate the skills make these classes easy to understand for anyone! They not only cover cornering, they cover extremely useful safety skills that could not only save your life but could also save others as well. I have been fortunate to be able to book a track rookie day, body positioning day, group ride instruction day and repeating day 1 of the cornering class. All of the skills I have learned thus far have come in handy already. UBER EVERYTHING...if you want to know more then stop reading and go book the class! October 5, 2025 is cornering day 1, I'll see you there!!! Update 2: Body Positioning & Knee Down class Imagine yoga, but angrier, and on a motorcycle. Muscles I haven't used since middle school gym class suddenly woke up to scream at me. But now I finally know how to take corners without looking like I'm trying to wrestle a shopping cart with a bad wheel. The Vibe The team? Hilarious. The atmosphere? Like group therapy but with motorcycles. The feedback? Brutally honest but always helpful. They clap when you do well, they correct when you don't, and somehow you leave feeling both destroyed and uplifted. Pro Tips Bring more water than you think you need. Pack snacks (fuel for you, not just the bike). Cash for lunch--it's not Michelin-starred, but it slaps after hours of sweating. Wheelie class exists. Yes, really. And yes, it's as fun as it sounds. Final Verdict If you ride anything with two wheels--sport bike, cruiser, scooter, grandma's moped--you need this. I thought I was a rider before. Turns out I was just a passenger on a bad idea. Now? I'm safer, smarter, and way more confident. 10/10 would recommend. 0/10 ego left intact.

01/26/2025: I seriously fell in love with this course. I did the Cornering School Day 1. It was my first time being on a track and I have been riding for only 5 months. This is hands-down the best bang for your buck course I've seen. I brought my personal bike (2005 Yamaha FJR1300) and didn't have to do anything to it to run it on the track (no tape or wiring). So, very convenient! It's a go kart track, so you're not going super fast. You can bring virtually any type of bike. The price is very affordable. The instruction is top notch. The staff are great. Beginners like myself can do this course and not feel overwhelmed. Advanced riders can be in the faster groups and have a blast. This course and school are seriously for all rider types and levels. So many students were repeats and had gone through multiple levels. The only thing I could see turning people off is Coach's banter, humor, and instruction style. He's very in your face, hard nosed, no BS, NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT. I'm a Marine so I fuckin love it. BUT ALSO.... You can seriously tell that this guy CARES and wants to keep you ALIVE and safe in whatever motorcycle venture you choose. I signed up already to repeat Day 1, and also booked Days 2 and 3 for later in the year. Just gotta figure out my funky work schedule and then I'll sign up for more (wheelie course, knee down and body position, suspension workshop, they have SO MUCH). Ok, think I'm cutting this review off. If you can't tell, I had the best time lol. UPDATE 02/23/2025: I took Day 1 again, followed by Day 2 the day after. So many things were reinforced. I moved so much faster and smoother, even riding a big, heavy bike. I can only blame the amazing instruction... Can't wait to do Day 3, then pretty regularly repeat the course all the way through. So many students have done that.

What can I say about Coach Can Akkaya! I took all his classes back in 2017, and he gave me the confidence to get my AFM race license in 2018. I finished 2nd place overall in the 250 novice championship as well, with some podiums and some first place finishes! I retook his day 1 class on 7/13/2025 because I wanted to introduce my new riding friends to him and show them what he's all about. Since revisiting on 7/13/2025, I've also regained some of my confidence in riding because I haven't ridden competitively since 2023. It was great to see him and his organization again, revisit the skills he makes us practice, and gain clarity all over again! He will forever will be my coach!

Photo from the Day 1 Cornering class

I have attended both the Day 1 and Day 2 of Coach Can Akkaya's Cornering classes at the Superbike Coach school. To say that these courses are extraordinary is almost an understatement! In two days of training I improved more than I have in years of riding, and now I can't wait to do Day 3! Fair warning, Can's direct AF personality might be hard for some people to take, but if his classes were mandatory, hundreds if not thousands of lives would be saved. Your typical MSF course is an absolute joke compared to what you will get here!!!

04FEB2023 UPDATE: Since the last review, I completed the Cornering School series, dragged my knee multiple times at the Knee Down course, and even managed a (somewhat weak) wheelie with my Ninja 400 at the Wheelie Course. I'm retaking the Cornering School with a liter bike now, and I'm STILL learning so much every time. For example, turns out that the skills I learned on the Ninja 400 are a LOT harder to pull off on a liter bike due to the power, weight, throttle control, etc. Luckily you get 1/2 off the Cornering School classes once you complete the series the first time around :). They're also putting on a full-feature, private track day at Thunderhill in August this year!! Can't wait to see how my skills translate to the big track. Everything I've learned has also made me a more confident and safer commuter on the road--I'd consider the Cornering School to also be a fantastic overview of the most important skills that will keep you safe as a commuter or frequent road rider. At some point I'd also love to take the Road Skills course which examines public-road-oriented riding skills in detail. Anyone reading this, STOP READING AND SIGN UP! This is easily the best-value riding school in Northern California, nevermind the students flying in from other states. You'll make great friends, tremendously improve your riding, and get some sweet photos to boot... IF you can even get a spot!

Superbike-Coach has once again helped me increase my riding skill on the track with honest feedback during the 1-on-3 track drill at Thunderhill West on 6/4/23. I knew where I was having issues/losing time on the track, as things just didn't feel "in the zone" on those corners and Coach Can of course saw WHY suggested fixes and it's now up to me to implement them. He also provides general feedback on riding style, how focused you are in general on your lines and whether you get distracted by other riders or events happening around you on the track. All things you learn about and are given tools to address in the Cornering School classes. I need to tighten up and be more rigorous in my application of the things I learned, but which I was not implementing correctly during the day. It's very much worth the price and experience to work with Coach Can, especially on more than one occasion. He remembers your progress from days and classes past. Riding with Coach is riding with a friend. An honest friend that gives meaningful and honest feedback. He isn't trying to be mean when he points out any deficiencies that might be slowing you down. He's just letting you know these are the areas you need to address to go faster and ride better. My understanding of riding and the capabilities of myself and the motorcycle have expanded so much after taking classes with Can. Riding is a passion and pastime and how I relax and enjoy life to the fullest. I'm happy Can and his team have helped me with this wonderful lifestyle.

Ask the Community - Superbike Coach

What are the rental bikes if I decide not to bring my own bike?

Depends for which program. We have Supermotos for the wheelie class and Ninja 300 for the other programs

Certification for dmv test?

You don't get a certificate for the dmv. You do however get something much more valuable. You get years of experience taught by someone that won't B.S. you. You can see his reviews for yourself.

The girl that answered the phone was very nice and told Kim was the instructor for our area. We booked about two weeks in advance. The night before the appt, I received a text from Pam at 9:20PM stating " I'm confirming your diving lesson for tomorrow and I wanted to know if ______ could go at 5:15PM instead of 6:40PM?" I was already in bed & did not see the text until after 10PM and it being so late, I deiced to wait till after 8am (normal business hours) to respond. At 6:04AM I received another text from Pam stating again " I'm confirming your driving lesson for today and I wanted to know if _____could go at 5:15PM instead of 6:40PM" I did not respond at 6:04am because like MOST PEOPLE I was sleeping. Even if I was not, I would have not responded until NORMAL business hours. She than texts me again at 6:39AM (35 minutes later, yet still before 7am) saying, " Good morning if I don't get a confirmation from you, I'll be taking your son off of my schedule." I would have waited until after 8am to respond since that is again NORMAL BUISNESS HOURS, but being she was now harassing me at 6am and threatening to cancel an appointment if she did not hear from us right away, an appointment we had for 2 weeks and one I would have gladly confirmed during again NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS, as I myself run two successful businesses for over 25 years, I was forced to respond at 7:06AM asking why would she threaten to cancle the appointment based on her texts coming so late at 9:40pm or so early at 6:04am &6;39am, and not during normal business hours or giving me an opportunity to respond when people are usually sleeping during those hours. Her response was rude. Unapologie4nic. She did not seem to understand or care that most people are sleeping and that she did not just send a " courtisy text to confirm appointment like most businesses do, instead her response was " I texted you when I got home from working, now I am working at 6AM...." The world does not revolve around your schedule Pam. IT does not matter how late or how early YOU start working. You can not expect people to respond if it is not during everyone else's NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS. Standard is not before 8am. And you really should not text people after 9 pm and expect a response. Totally ridicules that you never even given us a chance before you threatened to cancle our appointment. Texting someone twice even before 7am is rude, unprofessional. Texting at 9:40PM at night, is also unprofessional. I don't care what time you start or end your work day. Your response was unprofessional, rude and unacceptable. Never offered an apology after this was pointed out. I am glad we cancled the appointment, because after talking to a few other parents, this is not a first time an attitude from Pam has come out. Maybe get some more rest Pam, sounds like you need it. -Barbara
