My wife and I converted a large part of her Def. Comp. to a ROTH account and I knew we would have to send in additional withholdings, so we sat down with him for a consult. I had an idea how much additional withholdings we would have to send the IRS and FTB, but Tom came in with a lower amounts, which we sent the IRS and FTB. Also, because of the new 2025 S.S. "credits" I trusted his numbers. Not only did we not send in enough, but when we sat down to do our taxes we had to pay an additional $2,660 to the IRS and $1,179 to the State!!! AND, he added a $269 IRS Penalty on our 1040 form. The IRS corrected his mistake and refunded this amount back to us!!! I know our situation was complicated, but that's why I went to a professional (???). Too many mistakes made for me to return to Lyzet's again. read more

$275 and 25 minutes that i never got back. It was so quick and I felt that it was done carelessly. Tom did my tax and I'm so disappointed with the lack of effort he made. Didn't even try to help me at all to calculate my expenses. My friend went to Tom and he made some error she ended up paying so much money from 2022 tax and had to make an amendment when she had someone else did her tax this year (WHICH I HAVE ADVISED HER TO). Update 3/19-Super nervous this year because of all the new tax laws. Heard from several people who had always gotten refunds in the past that they had to pay this year--but Tom got me a refund comparable to the past two years! Worked with Tom and he got back to me within minutes for every question I had. Left the two previous accountants I had for bad/unprofessional service but everything happens for a reason. Liz and Tom are both so helpful, so you won't go wrong with either. It's scary picking a tax person you can trust but they will help you as best they can and they'll do it right! You might wait a little at your appointment for the person before to finish but let me tell you, it is better for you to wait it out then leave because in the end, you won't find a better person. I drive an hour and 15 min to see them. I know they have a virtual option but me and my husband love talking to them so we'll keep making the drive next year. read more
