What more can I say about Schiller than what I said already in the previous review?! Schiller…read moreremains to be one of my favorite Franconian biergarten/restaurants. Since we don't live too close to it anymore, we've been making extra efforts to visit here now that COVID-19 restrictions have been mostly lifted. Just recently wearing of masks has been totally lifted. The only thing still required is to sanitize your hands (it's a good idea anyway COVID or not) and register your contact information on app or paper upon entering. Their schäuferla (slow roasted pork shoulder) served with potato dumpling and sauerkraut is simply the best in Franconia, perhaps in the entire Bavaria/Germany. It's that good IMHO, and on top of that it's very reasonable for only 10€. I could enjoy it every time I eat here. Biergarten is a local favorite, and hikers, bikers & motorcyclists make this place a regular stop to enjoy food and drinks. The popularity is evident by the patrons' cars parked along the road on both directions. Obviously, I don't know what the future holds in terms of our battle against COVID, but I sure hope we can continue to enjoy this biergarten/restaurant this winter (biergarten will be closed for the winter, so we have to be able to eat indoors). Schiller, thank you for providing great food and Franconian hospitality! We will make every effort to come back to enjoy your food.

As aways, great Frankonian food. One of first stops when visiting Germany. Definitely worth it if…read moretraveling in the Bamberg area.

We came to this place only because this place popped up first and happened to be the closest to us…read more I saw they take card and is good for children. Once we walked in the place was decently packed, however it was so quiet in here!! If we happened to fart the whole place would have heard it; it was THAT quiet. Everyone was whispering, and there was only one table left open, so we sat there. We noticed two other children in the place already had the high chairs and thankfully the last table was a booth. The menu has English below each item, so no need to guess or use google translate and the wait staff is also really nice. We both ordered the duck special. Supposed to be crispy duck with a cranberry, red cabbage risotto. Sounds really yummy and different right? Welllll it wasn't crispy, it was overly sweet and the taste didn't match the texture of the risotto. However my daughter loved the "risotto". We both were really excited about CRISPY duck. Well we got soggy duck with a whole lot of fat. I would come back, only to try the other meals. I wouldn't order the same thing again. Every dish that passed by was so colorful, decorative and looked hands down delicious. Also, I know it says kid friendly. But I personally didn't feel like it was kid friendly. It was a lot of older couples and groups in for lunch or drinks and every time my daughter did something everyone looked and rolled their eyes
