I came here with a couple of friends for dinner the other night, and I'm a fan! Between orders of…read morethe mixed salad and the chicken schnitzel, I had more than my fill, and would substitute the mixed salad for the potato salad if I were to order it again, particularly given that the mixed salad contained some potato salad. While the potato salad was just average, the chicken schnitzel was among the best I've had! I'd definitely order it again. Furthermore, the service was friendly. I recommend a meal at Panorama if you're in the mood for an enjoyable meal with a view!

I googled a few places and made reservations here after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. The area was amazing and very pretty, the Altes Zachhaus garden was nice and the Grüner Veltliner crisp and refreshing. The biggest surprise was the food, actually. Not just the usual schnitzel. I would have given it 5 stars, but the service wasn't the best. Though there were at least 5 other dogs there so mine got a chance to play. I'll be back for sure.

Supposedly the nicest beer-garden in Vienna and from one side it certainly could be but for the…read morefact that the other side looks onto a building site. Not the usual style beer-garden that I am used to, all the tables neatly lined up and chairs instead of banks but I guess thats Vienna for you. Can't comment on the food because we just stopped in for a beer but the portions I saw were large and looked decent. The beer was good and cold but took just a little too long to come for my liking. Extra points to the server who carried a full tray in each hand. But those points get taken away because he then had to put both trays down on the table to serve... Decently priced but more an outside restaurant feel than a true beer-garden. And please do something about the building site view. My tip is some larger plants or trees to block it off a bit.

I've eaten here probably three or four times over the years- think somewhat modernised spins on Austrian classics( e.g tafelspitz with citrus) The set menus are not to be sniffed at, nor the excellent wine list (of essentially local wine only). I'd recommend coming in the winter, when there are fewer tourists, it's not as rammed - although the outdoor seating is nice in summer- and the service is a bit more attentive.

Witwe Bolt was across the square and had a non-smoking room, so why not? Dinners start with bread and tasty spreads and I opted for a glass of Prosecco as well. Sadly, it was flat - but that was really the only downside of our meal. We split a mixed salad which was nice and fresh, and I opted for the tafelspitz. Witwe Bolt's version was tender and not fatty and served with carrots, parsnips and turnips. It was the second best tafelspitz of the trip, edged out by Boheme down the street. My husband tried Zweibelrostbraten - essentially flank steak with onion strings. He was really happy with his dinner - he said the quality of the meat was very good. Our waiter was really friendly, and never let glasses go dry. The other patrons were quite friendly as well - we ended up talking to an Austrian/British couple who recommended some of their favorite local places for dinner which was really nice. As a bonus, the restaurant is quite historic - it was built in the late 1700's and one door bears an inscription letting you know that Emperor Joseph II was kicked out of here back in the days when this was a tavern. If you're interested in Spittelberg history, our dining room had several books on this, including one with photos of buildings pre and post restoration.
