My husband gets his hair cut here every thursday. Courtney does it, as well as women's hair and bridal makeup. She's done my hair too. The women's salon is in the back area. I park in the liquor store plaza and park in their designated spot and have front row parking, much safer to walk out this area than the public parking by Harney sushi/the hotel. If the goal is a good haircut then you'll find what you want here. After my original barber moved to another shop I was upset that I had to find a new one. Being in the military looking for a new barber is torture cause it can mean about 4-5 weeks of bad weekly haircuts until you find the one to do it right. Scott has now but my hair 7 weeks in a row and does awesome. He's quick, but precise and for active duty it's only $9. I can't speak on other barbers but he is awesome. The shop itself is nothing special as in decor etc. It's an in and out barber shop in Oceanside designed I accommodate all the Marines and their weekly cuts. It serves it's purpose. Cash only, but there's an ATM inside. As for the previous review.. There are about a million things worse than 40 psi air compressor used to remove hair from you. Have you been to the places that just try and wipe it off? It's terrible. It's not painful, it's efficient, and it's not worth complaining over. read more

I did not have a good experience with these guys. I don't have the barbers names but they are over priced and they lack the experience. They are fast with the haircuts but there is no talent in their work. I paid for a full hair cut and when I went to another barber I paid 1/2 the price with him. That should have been on the house Bc the first barber sucked that bad. I do not recommend this place and if u do decide on cutting ur hair here...GOOD LUCK!! $9 for a shitty hair cut is over priced here $14 is def worth my review! read more

I've been coming here for almost over a year now. Usually when I move to one place I find a stylist and stick with them if I like them. I'm HANDS DOWN am obsessed with getting my hair cut by Haley. When we do straight edge fades, her blade moves effortlessly. She's got a steady hand and she's super hilarious. I don't think I've ever been greeted by this woman without a smile on her face. I've had my hair colored by her and she did amazing on it. I even received a balayage, and I was super skeptical at first, but she knew what she was doing. She would describe what she was doing and why and even taught me about toners and colors. She's really knowledgeable on her hair shades and knowing where the light hits your hair perfectly. Not every barber or stylist is perfect. For example, I'm realllyyyy picky with my temple area and it being just right. If something isn't what I want, I let her know and we fix it. Getting your haircut isn't about just sitting in a chair, paying, and leaving. It's about teamwork, like most things in this world. You work together to get the results you need. Ouch. If you are looking to be made fun of by a surly staff then this is your place. Canada cut my hair very quickly which I like however I could feel the edge of the clippers stabbing into my scalp which as anyone who has had as many haircuts as I have knows that is entirely on the person cutting your hair. Somehow by checking in on yelp it offended her delicate sensibilities to the point where she felt the need to laugh at me. But she quickly let me know how she felt when she used compressed air to attempt to blow the hair off of me. It would have been a great way to remove the hair except, I don't need 40 psi directly into my ear. The only reason they rate two stars in my book is for the speed of the haircut. read more

This is a new home for me! Getting a hair cut can be something that gives people anxiety as it deals out external characteristics. It also deals with something that is hard to fix if messed up; so please see my review with 100% honesty! The haircuts are fantastic. I've had four cuts done and each time I am more than impressed with the style. They ultimately establish my want to come back, but there is one more thing. Scott is an incredible person. He treats each client with respect and open arms. If you get the chance, talk to him and get to know him. It's the reason why I truly love to get my hair cut here. Well I went to M & H barber shop this morning at 10:50am. I heard great things about this place. There was only one barber on duty which was totally fine because nobody was getting a hair cut at that time. While cutting my hair the barber dropped the clippers ( that were on) onto my jaw and neck leaving a 2 inch bloody scratch on my face. I knew it was an accident and he did say sorry, but at the end of the hair cut he still charged me. In the past if a barber or stylist has cut anything on me besides hair my hair cut was comped. I do not recommend this place. I hope the owner Manny gets in touch with me to resolve this problem. read more

I was taking my son to get his routine haircut and there was this guy working by himeself. He looked like an older man with black/gray hair and when he looks at you,he looks like he's mad at the world. Usually a woman that works there cuts my son's but unfortunately that day, that man was working. It was a Friday morning I believe. He has the WORST customer service EVER. He is one of the rudest people I have ever met and he did a HORRIBLE job on my son's hair. He couldn't even give my son a zero at the bottom and a two on top. If you are looking for a great and clean barber shop in downtown town Oceanside than look no further. I had my hair cut here by Scott many times and he does a great and fast job every time. This place has been open for a long time and they know how to cut hair. They specialize in military cuts but they also do civilian and women hair as well. Horrible, I'm new to town so I've been trying a few barber shops here and there to see which one I should go to on a regular. My visit to the shop was on 21 Jan 2014. The barber's name is Coung, perfectly nice gentleman but he has no skills whatsoever. And I'm not a complicated guy either, he completely botched the cut so I went # 1 all around, but what really pissed me off is that he forgot or left patches of hair behind ears and the back of the head! how ridiculous! read more
